It was Ellie's second day of school, and so she decided that exploring the grounds was in order. Normally she would do this kind of thing with her twin, but the two had been sorted into different houses. Lysander was in Gryffindor, the house their dad had been in, and she was Hufflepuff. She didn't quite know how to feel about that yet. Everyone else in her immediate family was in Gryffindor, or Slytherin. Hufflepuff seemed like a nice enough house, but being the odd one out wasn't a great feeling. It didn't take the young girl long to find the Quidditch pitch. The sport was one of her passions, she had even been on a youth team before beginning school. Maybe if she got up in the air it would help clear her head. Since first years weren't allowed brooms Ellie began the climb up the Hufflepuff tower. It took longer than she thought, and by the time she reached the top she was actually slightly out of breath, and very grateful to take a seat. That was one advantage Hufflepuff had over Gryffindor: their dorms were much closer to the ground floor.

Corey was glad to be out of the castle. Sure, it was great and all, but being a very active person and an outdoor one, he did not at all appreciate being stuck inside, thank you very much. And so, it was today that he was not with his cousins that he ventured out into the Quidditch Pitch. It was still quiet, the tryouts weren't underway yet, he was pretty sure he would have heard considering that Jai was planning to tryout this year. As soon as he arrived, he made his way up to the Hufflepuff stands wanting to know the view from up there. Merlin, he couldn't wait till he was allowed to tryout for the team. As soon as he made his way up there, he saw a girl, seemingly his age already seated. "Hey," he waved and grinned at the girl, not even bothering to ask what made her come all the way up. It was a great day after all, wanting to stay cooped up in the castle would be a waste.

Ellie was lost in her thoughts as she leaned back, and looked up at the sky. It was a beautiful day out, and the sky was bright blue with white fluffy clouds blowing past. She was trying to find shapes in them when she heard someone coming up the stairs to join her. Maybe Lysander had come to find her? Ellie was thinking about how much she had to tell him when the person made it to the top. It wasn't her brother, but he looked to be the same age. Ellie's heart sunk a little, but she quickly pushed the sad thoughts away. What better time to make a new friend than now? "Hi! I'm Ellie." she introduced herself. As she did she patted the seat next to her indicating for him to join. "I'm looking for shapes in the clouds. I think that ones a cauldron." she said turning her face back to the sky and pointing out a cloud that looked vaguely round.

Corey grinned at the girl that introduced herself. She seemed like a fun person and that was a real good thing in his books. "Great to meet you Ellie! Name's Corey," he said as he took a seat beside her, accepting the slightly subtle invitation before craning his head upwards to look at the clouds with her. Well, he certainly could not deny the resemblance of the cloud to a cauldron. The Raven twins would probably have been excited to see it if they could, although knowing those two, they'd probably be up and about around the grounds by now. Looking around, Corey finally found a cloud that vaguely resembled something that was not a blob. "That one looks like a mouse. I like the big round ears," he said as he pointed it at clouds that had bundled up in some form of a mouse that looked like ones in the muggle cartoons he'd watch back home.
