Clutching a glass goblet of some sort of fizzying juice, Rose swayed slowly on the outskirts of the dance floor, alone, and wanting to join in with the sea of dancing students, couples and otherwise, but the Headmistress' strict no food and drink policy away from the tables meant she had to wait until she was finished with what she had. She didn't mind so much, the current song was a little too slow for her tastes, directed more toward the people who had partners than not. It wasn't all that surprising, given that was the purpose of the Yule Ball, formal dancing with another person rather than a disco with flashing lights and upbeat, fast paced music.

The current song was being played by local musicians, a band who's name escaped the young girl for the time being, but she was sure she'd heard them played through the wireless from Brightstone Radio. The lead singers voice was definitely familiar. Rose's eyes turned longingly toward the stage, wishing, and hoping, that she'd have the chance to be up there one day, while people danced to and appreciated her music. Her goal was to perform for the school at least once before graduation, she just needed to pluck up the courage to make that first step. It was a terrifying thought, singing in front of hundreds of students, but each year she attended the ball left her feeling envious of the performers. In the mean time, all she could was dance alone to the music, and keep an eye out for anyone else she knew. The girl had asked one of her friends to join her in attending to avoid the very situation she found herself in now, but neither of their organisational skills had been particularly great. She wasn't so sure whether or not Kristen was still coming. When it came to music he was...uncultured. The ball perhaps wasn't really his scene.

Kristen Blade had been looking forward to the Yule Ball ever since his friend Rose had agreed to go with him. It wasn't entirely something that he could see himself enjoying but at least if he had someone to spend the night with maybe it wouldn't be as bad. He found himself sighing, however, as the two of them had completely forgot to touch base beforehand and organise where the two of them were meeting up so Kristen had absolutely no idea where he was meant to go right now to meet up with her. He made his way down to the Great Hall, and not seeing her in the immediate vicinity he realised that he would have to search inside which could take the rest of the night with the amount of people that were here.

As he entered he released a pent up breath he hadn't realised he had been holding as he spotted Rose near the edge of the dance floor and happily made his way towards her. "Hey Rose!" He said as he approached her. "You look nice." He told her with a grin. He was happy that he had been able to find her without too much effort and he couldn't imagine spending the whole night awkwardly looking for her.
