Ugh. How many times? The day that worthless owl delivered its mail to the right person would be the day Bryan got an O in, well, anything. He didn't even realise owls could be so incompetent. Everybody else's seemed to know where they were going and do what they were told. Why did he have to pick the brainless one?
He sighed and began his usual rounds. Up and down the tables he went, saying, "Anyone got anything for Bryan Duffy? Bryan Duffy? Is that your letter there? Anything for Bryan Duffy?" until he hated the sound of his own voice. The mix-up was made all the worse this morning by the fact it was his birthday. That meant someone else had his birthday card, which, if his mum was feeling generous this year, quite possibly had a large amount of money in it. Bryan could only hope it didn't jingle.
