The noise of the crowd dulled as Teddy slipped around the back of the Quidditch stands. It wasn't a conventional way to leave the pitch and he didn't think anyone would think to look for him here. They'd lost the match but it wasn't a big deal really. Gryffindor had already won the cup, his team were already champions and this match against Beauxbatons was just a bonus game with nothing at stake. But losing still hurt him, especially when it came so soon after the mess he'd made of dueling that he tried and failed not to think about on a regular basis. That was the real challenge he had of processing the guilt of doing something so stupid that yielded nothing good for him. Again, he tried not to think about it.

Teddy liked that it was private in this spot with no one around, he found a comfortable place to sit and admire the view out. He stayed there quietly, practicing his conjuring spells but not having much luck. The professor had said it was NEWT level stuff that took focus, and right now he wasn't very focused. Then the sound of footsteps behind him made him turn his head to see who was there.

@Hugo Stark-West

hugo felt no betrail to his house as he donned one of teddys gryffindor jumpers before heading to the quidditch pitch. after all gryffindor were representing the school. he cheered along as the chasers attempted to score and when the beaters made good hits. he almost couldnt elieve it but he was almost starting to enjoy watching quidditch. after the mess that was duelling he really hoped for a good outcome today even if it was just to cheer teddy up and not have him moping all the time. however it wasnt long before the Beauxbattons seeker was circling the pitch with the snitch in he hands.
once the game was over he exeted the stands and found a place to wait for his boyfriend near the change rooms but not os close that hwas looked suspicious or creepy. he knew teddy needed to be there for the team. and he wasnt going to take that away from him but he would like to at leastsee how he was and walk up to the castle with him. after a while he saw a few of the players leading out one or two ata time and then the figure that he could recognise from a while away slip out the door and move around the back of the stands. He followed himuntil he saw the boy sitting with the wand in his hand looking into space. he walked over to him not saying anything he just stopped and sat next to Teddy not saying anything just putting his arm around him and rubbing his thimb gently and reassuringly. lettign ted take the time he needed

Teddy’s smile was soft and real when he saw Hugo but the “hey” that came out was barely audible. Honestly, he hadn't expected anyone to find him back here but he was happy to see Hugo, Hugo was the only one he wanted. He recognised the jumper he had on too,and it reminded him that Hugo supported him, even though he wasn't quite sure he fully deserved it right now. He shuffled to make room for his boyfriend to sit next to him then felt his arm settle around his shoulders. He leaned in without thinking, resting his head there comfortably. They stayed like that for a while, watching the hills roll away into the distance and that was nice. New Zealand really was beautiful but between all his commitments, he simply forgot to notice. After a few minutes, he felt ready to talk “Sorry I’ve been a bit grumpy lately,” he mumbled, sitting up a little straighter so he could speak clearer. “I've decided to give up the Brotherhood next year to free up my time a bit.” He already knew that was the right thing to do but there was something else much worse bothering his core. He drew in a deeper breath then said, "I'm just not really sure how to fix things with Audrey." He wondered if Hugo had any ideas, because right now Teddy had none.

There were some situations where talking made things better, and there were others when silence did. Hugo was usually a man of few words knew that this was the definatly the latter. he could see teddy was hurting and it wasnt just because of quidditch, he had been for a while. but he was letting teddy take his time to process it and just being there for him. he felt teddy lean in and rest his head on his shoulder. he held him a little tighter and then rested his head on top of teddies. they sat there fr a while both lookin out at the landscape beyond the school lost in their thoughts.
after a while he felt teddy talk. feeling itthrough his shoulder as much as he heard it. beofre he shifteds so they were both sitting up. "It's okay. i forgive you for being grumpy" he said though he knew he wasnt the only one who needed the apology he also knew teddy also know that. he nodded at the brotjerhood comment. "that is good. you have a lot on and have been stressed. and newt year gets more intense. i'm glad you are dropping somethng" he said giving teddys hand a reassuring squeeze. the other changes next year went without saying, how teddy would have one less distraction, Hugo, and how there was still a good chance that he would get the mantle of head boy passed on.
It was not surprising that the topic of Audrey came up, it was something that had been independent on both of their minds. He had felt so bad that a duel had left such a rift in their friendship. they had been best firends, and he didnt know what would he would do if something got between him and oz like that. had considered talking to Audrey in the common room but was fairly sure he would make it worse. make it look like teddy had asked him because he didnt want to face her. or like he was meddling in their relationship. Besides, she did scare him slightly. "I've been thinking too. And I dont know either." he said.

Teddy laughed humourlessly at Hugo's forgiveness, if only Audrey's would be so easy to win over when their time came. He knew next year was going to be intense too, he had enough warning from the professors so he nodded along with Hugo, because leaving behind leading the Brotherhood was a good thing. He squeezed his hand back and smiled at him, he already started to feel better even though he knew that he was going to miss his boyfriend next year. "You know, you having no ideas either sort of makes me feel better. I guess I’ll just have to wait until she doesn’t want to hex me on sight, or until she’s back to her normal healthy level of wanting to hex me.” He tilted his head in thought, his mood improving with it. “Reckon that’ll happen before we graduate? He shuffled a little closer as he weighed whether to try his luck after a series of losses, then decided the answer was yes. Turning his head, he moved to kiss Hugo, happily abandoning any thought of Audrey or her hexes for the time being.

hugo smiled slihghtly as teddy laughed. they both knew there was more to it than teddy being grumpy. but a small forgiveness was a good start. he thought as teddy spoke "no you cant just wait. we need to do something. he mused "you cnt offer a rematch because if you loose it would still look like you let her win. And if you win, it would look like you were trying to make up for not winning before, " he said, articulating his thoughts. at teddys next question he let out a "hmm" the phrase we graduate reminded him just how soon his graduation was and how they wouldnt be a 'we' graduating. he hopened his mouth to say something about not wanting to leave him if he hadnt worked out this problem when he felt a movement beside him and turned to find teddy leaning towards him asking soundlessly for a kis. How could he say no when Teddy was here, besides him being so vulnerable? He leaned in and cupped Teddy's cheek in his hand as he kissed him, a gentle reassuring kiss.

Teddy shook his head agreeing that Hugo's idea of a rematch was not going to work, "A rematch would need to wait until next year's tournament." He said. He was in two minds about entering next time after what he had done this time, but he had a year to think about it, and a year to hope that everyone else would have forgotten about all of this by then. "I know Audrey would want to get even. I'm pretty sure she's cooking up her own revenge as we speak." Teddy welcomed the distraction from the conversation by Hugo kissing him back, he wanted it to last as long as possible because it made him feel good in ways that nothing else did. When their kiss ended he sighed and said, "I'm going to miss you next year!"

higo nodded. "yes wait until next year. and next year dont cheat, or fold because of it" he said poking teddy lightly. to show he was teasing. he shrugged as teddy said audrey was probably plotting some revence. he had nver been close to her. But he had definitely caught her glaring daggers, at him recently and there was a big part of him that was slightly intimidated by her and tried to keep out of her way.
he wasnt sure what to say on the matter and turned out he didnt need to say anyhting. because right then they were kissing. and after a few moments Hugo unintentionally let out a sound that was somewhee between a sigh and a grunt before smiling against teddys lips as the kiss continued.
when the split apart he leaned against teddy as he said he would miss him. "I'll miss you too" he said leaning against teddy and resting his head against his shoulder. a position hat definatly worked better in theory or in reverse due to their hight differences. "I hope you guys make up soon. i dont like seeing you upset and i dont like when people fight. he said. the thought bringing back fears from forgotton memories of his early childhood and as welll as very real memories of his mums fighing not long after he and violet had moved to the stark-west house.
