Seamus had left Hamish and the new house and gone for his run. He’d joined the running club at his last school and found it a useful way to dispense energy, he didn’t tend to go alone, usually in a group but without anyone to run with yet in New Zealand and his brother deciding to spend the morning making the house more livable he’d gone out on his own. Seamus had always been a rather energetic, though he hadn’t slept well that night, he wasn’t the sort of person who did sleep much, but he kept a much quicker pace today, hoping to dispense the rest of his energy and sleep far better that night. He was using it to explore the area surrounding the new house. Eventually he stopped, looking to get his breath back and run all the way back. He was sure he was at a midpoint. He’d stopped at a park just next to the local village, he knew this was the local magical one their parents had told them about. Seamus walked into the park, shaking out his limbs and eventually just sat down on one of the swings. It was a decent park, but it was just nothing like home. None of this place was anything like home.

The anticipation of only having one more year left before having to go to Hogwarts was really starting to get to Evie. She always found herself so bored within the walls of her home. There was barely anything to do other than argue with her mother who really seemed like she wanted to control her life. Evie was growing frustrated, and after locking herself in her bedroom for an hour, she decided to sneak out through her window and go on an adventure. Brightstone Village wasn’t too far from where she lived, and within half an hour Evie found herself walking through the park, kicking a stone along as she did so. When the stone fell off course, she picked up a large stick that had fallen off a tree, dragging it along behind her through the dirt. She liked walking on her own and the park was usually peaceful. As she came up to the play equipment she noticed a boy sitting on the swing. Evie usually liked the swing and the feeling of the wind rushing through her hair. It bothered her slightly that this boy was sitting here. “How high do you reckon you can go?” Evie asked him with a smirk.

Seamus looked at the girl who joined him, he looked up and shrug, ”I mean, probably pretty high, this is a magical park right?” he asked, it was just outside of the magical town so he had to assume it was magical too, so perhaps one could go higher than in a regular park. Seamus spoke with a distinctly scottish accent, though probably to some it was just distinctly not kiwi. ”Shall I test it?” he asked, ”You can join me, we can see who gets there first?” he challenged, pointing to the swing next to him. He was sure if she didn’t, then he would still try, he hadn’t thought about it, and he knew it would tire out his body before the run home, but it was a pretty interesting idea and he was willing to give it a go.
