<COLOR color="#000">Gracelynn yawned. She pulled herself out of bed early this morning in an attempt to sneak a jog in before breakfast, but for some reason she just couldn't wake herself up long enough to actually do any jogging. It took her half an hour just to get out of bed, plus she had to shower, get dressed, and fix her bag so that she was ready for class later. By the time she finished all of those things, breakfast had already begun and any thought of a jog went right out the window. "It's really hard to maintain an active lifestyle when all your body wants to do is sleep and relax." Gracelynn wandered into the hall where breakfast was currently being served, and felt her stomach grumble with excitement when the scent of fresh eggs and toast wafted past her nostrils. The scent of breakfast cooking in the morning always made Gracelynn think of her mom, whom she missed more than she could ever begin to describe.

The whole issue between her mother and father never made sense to Gracelynn. Love is love, and blood status shouldn't be able to come between that, or how one felt about their children. Scooping a generous portion of eggs onto her plate, Gracelynn dug in. The sooner she had some food in her stomach the sooner she could wake up and perhaps get some time outside before she had to head to class. Reaching out, Gracelynn found herself bumping the pitcher of pumpkin juice she meant to grab instead of knock over. "Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry!" There had been someone sitting across from her and the juice had spilled over in their direction. Gracelynn pulled out her wand and muttered a spell to clean up the juice before she sat back down. Hopefully the juice had not gotten on them or their breakfast.

Carson Ives had gotten very little sleep. He had been up rambling to himself and pacing back and forth in his dorm. His roommate had thrown several pillows at him for keeping them up. However, Carson had important things to think about, like how insane his father was acting. What sane person just up and uprooted their entire life, while leaving their family to dry in the desert sun? When Carson had realized the sun had risen and his roommates had left for breakfast, he decide he needed to wash up and change. He may not have gotten any sleep, but he was damn sure going to eat breakfast so he was in the right mind for the rest of his day.

After cleaning up and changing his clothes, he walked to breakfast. He sat at a table and stuffed various food on to his plate, most of which was bacon. When he was preoccupied with worries, Carson tended to make poor food choices. He never worried about weight gain because of how his metabolism worked. Before he could take a good bite of his food, a pitcher of juice tipped over. Carson lifted his plate off the table, saving his food. But the juice spilled on his clothes. The sixth year squealed in surprised, instantly standing up. He looked to the girl with anger all over his face. "Is that how you practice magic, by muttering spells? I know you may be a novice, but at least act like you know how to use magic properly!" he scolded the girl. He pulled out his want and quickly and confidently used a spell to clean up the juice on his clothing. Children.

<COLOR color="#000">At first Gracelynn was shocked that the boy had reacted as he had, but once his words sunk in Gracelynn found herself growing furious. She had apologized and cleaned up the mess she had made, what more did he expect? Folding her arms over her chest, she waited until he finished before she decided to interrupt his tantrum. "Are you finished with your tantrum?" He appeared to be a couple of years or so above her, so the fact that he would react like a child kind of got on Gracelynn's nerves. Although she was the middle sibling, she often acted as the mother figure to her older brother and younger sister. The two of them were so hot headed and impulsive when it came to how they behaved that Gracelynn worried for them. If she didn't keep an eye on them then who would? Certainly not their father or their mother.

"Keep up the attitude and you'll find another glass of juice on your clothes." What a jerk. Bullying someone younger than himself because there was an accident. It wasn't as if his clothes were ruined, he managed to get them clean in mere seconds. Gracelynn would have offered to do it herself had he not acted so rudely towards her. She figured all the men attending here were gentlemen, apparently she had been very wrong.

Carson was nowhere near done with this girl. And, he was taken aback by her wording. "T-tantrum?! If you think that was a tantrum, I can show you what one really is you inexperienced brat! I shouldn't be taking time out of my precious day to deal with you clumsiness, but I have so much going on right now I might as well indulge myself." he yelled at the young girl. He was being quite dramatic, but if Carson was not dramatic, he was not himself. It was how he defended himself from his older siblings and got attention from his parents, the people who promised they'd love him forever. It made the sixth year depressed that his father must have not meant those words.

Carson scoffed and rolled his eyes. "Oh, I don't think you need to worry about me, dear." he said before he he picked up a glass of pumpkin juice and threw it on the girl's clothes. He was not going to be a complete @sshole and get her face wet. He was being considerate! Carson was normally this dramatic, but he was not always violence prone. His home situation had him on edge. He doubted this girl would understand. He sighed and put his hands on his hips. "Nothing is one my side." he muttered as a tear slid down his face. The stress of it all made his heart ache, and the boy fell into tears as he flung himself back down on the bench, hands covering his face to try and save some of his dignity.
