Meeting on the lake

"My uncle Montague, whom my mother is staying with. It said that in the letter, remember? You are welcome to come with me of course, if you do not want to stay here or spend the break with your aunt. Of course I would understand if you did not want to get involved." Sophia knew that things were more than slightly complicated for her, and she would not blame Ford if he wanted to stay out of all of that.
 
Ford's face lit up at the prospect of not spending time here or with his aunt, "Would I be intruding to come with you?"
 
"No, of course not," Sophia said with a hint of a smirk. "But you cannot tell anyone where we are going. Not that they would be able to find it, but my father does not know where my mother is, and she would prefer to keep it that way."
