Maybe too excited about flying?

So many thoughts rushed in Avas head that she couldn't focus on a single one. The image of her just pulling her hand away from Sterling repeated over and over again and it was killing her. How she wished she could rewind and do what she thought would be very embarassing and inappropriate. It would still just be as inappropriate though at least she wouldn't be filled with this regret and guiltiness. As Sterling landed beside her Ava picked up the courage and looked him in the eye as he spoke to her.

Enjoyable? Ava found so many words to describe the day she just had and none of them were close to enjoyable. Most of them were along the lines of 'Amazing', 'Incredible', 'Perfect'. Ava now knew that he saw her as nothing more than a friend which was still great. But Ava wanted something, she would admit that she did have a crush on Sterling, a massive crush and it would be the first time that she admitted that to herself. "Yes it was..enjoyable." Ava said slowly forcing out 'enjoyable' so she wouldn't use any of the other words that she thought described their day. It almost pained her to say it. Soon an awkward gap of silence filled the air between them and Ava had no clue what to say that would fix or help what was happening. Though she felt a single cold raindrop land on her hand and she instantly looked up at the clouds. She didn't think that the rain would fall so soon. She sighed, "Perfect." She said sarcastically and looked up at Sterling. She didn't run for cover or place her arms over her head in protection of her hair like she would usually do in a rain shower. Instead she stood there and got wet and gave Sterling a weak smile.

As Ava spoke, Sterling wasn't sure if Ava quite agreed with his wording. Did she hate that day? Sterling questioned himself thinking that maybe he was completely off base as to what he was thinking now. Ava seemed to be having a good time, smiling, blushing, and at moments Sterling thought almost flirting. This Slytherin boy almost wondered now if he had imagined the whole reactions just to continue his little wanted situtation.

The silence filled the air. It came so fast even in this wide area, that Sterling almost felt like he couldn't breathe nor think. How had this day turned so quickly without even a warning sign. Fix it. This doesn't have to end this way Sterling thought hoping more than he would have normally expected that this was indeed a true statement. Without another word, a rain drop feel running down his face. Wiping it off, Sterling looked at the sky laughing slightly at Ava's reaction.

His eyes wondered over to her features. "I guess this brings an end to the day....sadly" Sterling added the last part with a quieter tone. Even if the voice was hushed for the last word it was audible. A wider smile filled onto his face as he looked up at the sky feeling the rain come down harder, raindrop by raindrop. After a few seconds, Sterling looked back at Ava, wiping the water from his face. Somehow the rain always came attached to a good memory for Sterling. Did this day having a rain storm in it mean something more?

Ava was getting extremely wet and she could feel her ponytail beginning to drip. But she still didn't move. As Sterling laughed at her reaction to the rain she felt her heart thump quickly in her chest. How she loved that laugh. The rain began to get heavier but Sterling didn't even seem to move. But he spoke and what he said seemed to both dampen her spirits but raise them higher aswell, especially that last word he said. Sadly? So he didn't want to end it? she thought in hope. Maybe...? she continued to think but stopped herself before she got any further. There was no point in getting her hopes up for them to be crushed.

"Sadly." Ava repeated with a smile. She didn't know what came over her, it just seemed to blurt out and now she couldn't fix it, it was out in the air now. The rain pattered harder and Ava found movement and placed her arms over her head. The rain was now fatter and she was utterly soaked to the skin. "Thanks for today..." She said slowly and looked him in his brown eyes, his beautiful brown eyes. Everytime she looked at them she got completely lost in them. She couldn't finish her sentence and couldn't find the will power to end it off in some way. She couldn't draw her eyes or her mind from him. Nothing else was going through her head but Sterling. Ava had offically fallen for the Slytherin boy.

Sterling knew his hair was not soaked to the point that he felt as if he had just gone for a swim. That wasn't the case. No not at all. Sterling was standing out in the rain with Ava, the girl that seemed to have taken a special part of both his thoughts and much more. Smiling still, he couldn't help it. The smile seemed so natural when he caught sight of Ava even when she was soaking wet. If anything the fact that Ava was not whining about being soaked was a nice surprise.

As she spoke, he noted that Ava could not finishe her own sentence. "Thanks for showing up today." Sterling said his smile increasing for a moment. Yet when he heard his own words he wished he could have taken them back. Did he sound like a dork or what? "What I mean is this day was something we will have to repeat again. Maybe not just with flying. There's always the lakefront or the three broomsticks" Sterling continued wondering why he couldn't get the perfect words out. Was he really trying to ask Ava out for another outting?

Running his hand through his wet hair. "We should go inside" He added the words sounding completely wrong as they came out of his mouth. Yet Sterling knew it wasn't the smartest idea standing outside in the rain and get a cold.

At this stage Ava probably looked like some sort of wet rodent. Which was extremely embarrassing especially since she was standing in front of her crush and she always wanted to look good in front of him. It didn't make sense that he was thanking her for showing up. As if she wouldn't? Even if their plan was to sit in a pile of mud she would show. Well maybe not mud.. "It was my pleasure." She said, her british accent was thick. Though when Sterling continued to try and get something out Ava couldn't do anything but listen.

Once it was out in the air Ava took it in and tried to repeat it once more in her head. He was asking her to do something again? Her cheeks lightened to a tinted pink colour and a wide smile spread across her wet lips though she tried to hold it back, she couldn't. "That'd be great!" She said unable to hold back the enthusaism either. She watched him run his hand through his wet hair and he spoke but it didn't register for a while. "Hmm?" She said absent mindly. She pulled her eyes away from his hair quickly, "Right. Yeah we should go. I probably look like some sort of animal." She said with a light laugh. Ava took a couple of steps forward and then turned back to Sterling. "Coming?" She asked him unable to wipe the smile of her face.

The fact that Ava had an accent was always an extremely pleasant thing for Sterling. Not that he wouldn't care for her if she didn't, it was just nice. Two people from London making their way to one school for wizards and witches ending up together. What were the chances in that? You two are not together The small voice in his head reminded this first year Slytherin boy. However the fact that Ava blushed when he asked her to get together another time, was a good sign in his mind.

The enthusaism she showed only made his smile grow wider. This may work out after all He thought happily. "Then we will have to plan something for the future" He said not knowing how close in the future. Was this boy so struck by her that he couldn't wait weeks or was it something that he would be able to think of anything but Ava for awhile? The first situation seemed to be the correct one at this moment.

Another small laugh left Sterling's mouth when Ava said she looked like some sort of animal. "Well it's a good thing I'm an animal lover than" Sterling spoke almost wishing that he could take back the words the second they left his mouth. Incredibly lame He thought disappointed that he said something like that. Even when Sterling wasn't really an animal lover at all. That just made the situation words worse. He did love dogs, big dogs, but that was basically it. Forget it and move one He thought bringing himself back into reality when he walked right up to Ava so that he was standing besides her. "And you still look perfect" He manage to say his volume lower than normal but still audible.

Sterling continued to walk all the way to the castle keeping a nice pace along side Ava. His mind flickering to today's events. Not at all what the Slytherin had expected. It was just that Ava seemed different than every other girl that was back at Sterling's old prep school. She seemed different than every girl here. In this case, different was so much better.

[Sorry for the slight godmodding]
Ava looked at him with a strange expression on her face as he said that he was an animal lover. Okay? Though she let out a small laugh just to ease the tension. When he walked up beside her, her heart leap excitedly and butterflies flew all around in her stomach. She was never this close to him. Her cheeks turned rose red when he told her she looked perfect. I have to learn to control that She thought to herself annoyed at the fact that she blushed like a complete idiot when Sterling talked to her. He thinks I look perfect? Ava thought joyfully. She wanted to return the comment but knew that that would just mess things up. Instead she just looked down at her feet knowing that if she looked up at his big brown eyes she would mostly like blush and ruin the moment.

As they walked alongside each other Ava couldn't stop smiling. This day had just took a turn. One of the best turns she could think of. He said she looked perfect. It continuously repeated in her mind and she didn't want it to stop. They walked up to the castle in the rain, the pouring rain. Ava couldn't imagine doing this with anybody else. But it was Sterling. She doubted that she would ever find a guy as perfect as him ever! Thats why she treasured every moment with him. Once they were at the doors to Hogwarts she turned to Sterling and smiled to him. She had to tell someone about this day. She had to. But a girl friend. Leia was the only one she had. Could she tell Leia? Would Leia even care? She doubted it, but she had to tell someone. "So I guess I'll see you soon?" She asked with a bit of hope in her voice.

Sterling didn't say much as they walked towards the castle. His feet sort of just moved even if her mind continued to wish the day wasn't ending. The rain continued to pour on the two of them soaking the both to the core. Yet Sterling didn't even feel the coldness of the rain. He wasn't bothered by it one bit. Would he make a tradition of walking in the pouring rain on a daily basis? No way in hell. But this was with Ava. In a way he couldn't help but admit he would do quite a bit for the Slytherin girl.

Finally the two of them reached the entrance hall of Hogwarts. Turning towards Ava, he couldn't knock the Smile off his face if he tried. Luckily Ava was smiling as well. "Yes we will seen eachother soon" Sterling said hoping that this was indeed the truth. Afterall Sterling had a great time, more than a great time. Ava seemed to have a great time. So maybe this was going to work out perfectly.

"See you later" He said meaning the words. Sometimes people would say this overcommonly used saying and not mean a word of it. This time it was meant completely. Sterling gave Ava one more flash of a smile before he walked towards the great hall area, not hungry at all but more so in a need for a walk, something to give him time to get his thoughts in order and the events of the day straight.
