Makaylah wander the school hallway, looking for something to do on a Saturday afternoon. She had a bag of worthy activities to do, but no one really to do it with them. The past few years at Hogwarts have not really been spent making friends at all. She knew only Tyler and Madlyn, both whom seems a bit to busy doing their own stuff. Tyler harassing girls and Madlyn being a part-giant. Walking down the corridors Makaylah changed her mind the last moment, she was going to head outside and see who was out there. Instead Makaylah directed her attention to the school's club area. She hasn't been about here since some of the clubs became inactive. Makaylah walked through the double doors were it lead to a long hallways of a few rooms.

Some of the club signs were up right next to the room. She passed the dueling club and the wild patch club. Makaylah wished the wild patch club was running. Then it gave her something to do with other people and she wouldn't have to feel like a hermit. Makaylah continued till she stop right in front of the Conglomerated Arts Club. A club she forgot to sign up once, and now she was here bored looking inside the room provided for the club area. It was nice and very decorative looking, a little to 'hip' for her taste but it was an art club. For that she enter the room to check out the area, it was nice from the inside. Makaylah toured the entire room and found a box of arts supplies for her to look into. Makaylah had her own sort of stuff, though she was still missing one thing and that was someone else to have fun with. Makaylah took out her bag off chips and a book of scraps, she sat down in one of the chairs and did whatever the hell that came into the young Ravenclaw girl mind.

Kate walked around the common room her feet restless. She was bored and she wanted to do something but she couldn't find anyone worth talking to.She didn't trust much of her more classmate friends.Someone had ratted on her and it bothered her not knowing who it was because they could easily do it again.Kate really didn't care about the magazine, who ever had done it must really be sad to be exploiting other people's secrets, some of which were not true and some just plain rude.Kate shook her head, there was no point in fretting over it,it was over and done with nothing could be done.Soon the common room was too crowded and she discreetly made her way out and into the fourth floor corridor. There were ghosts around the place and the pictures were as talkative as usual.she had gotten used to the constant buzz of the castle.Sometimes when she didn't take the sleeping pills and couldn't sleep she would wander around the castle at night. It was against the rules but it was nice to have some peace and quiet. She didn't get much of it because there was always a thumping in her head. But sometimes during the night when she would sit in a deserted corridor when everything was asleep she would find it perfectly quiet.

Kate had descended the moving staircase and was now at the ground floor just outside the great hall. She looked around, she didn't wanted to go outside, she wasn't dressed warmly enough. She finally spotted the doors leading to the student club area. She hadn't been there in a while and she might just do a bit of piano practice or some singing. She walked down the corridor passing the dueling club and the various other clubs. She stopped outside the Conglomerated Arts club. There was whole pile of musical instruments in here as well as art and cooking.Kate was more interested in the musical instruments. When she entered she was surprised to see an older girl in there. She seemed to be doing something arty.art was not one of her string points, stick people were the extent of her art skills. She was a bit better at fashion but she wasn't that interested in that. Kate was unsure whether she should say something or not. Finally she made a decision "Hey"She said walking over to the other girl

Makaylah was not even in the means of starting something yet when a girl came into the room Makaylah was occupied in. She turn her head at the sound of the door open, she smiled at the girl. Makaylah hadn't met anyone else in school besides Madlyn and Tyler, and this girl was neither of them. It was a blasted good thing, it was great to see someone new embrace her presents. "Hey!" she greeted the girl back, almost joyous that she wasn't alone anymore. She set the scraps she held in her hand, making already a complete mess out of the table she was using. She faced the girl again and stood up to formally measure up to her. Makaylah though it was weird when you greeted someone sitting down, she had always stood up when someone new came around her way. No matter where she was, Makaylah did it all the time. Her mom thought her to be a little strange. Makaylah thought to be normal for her, everyone was different!

Makaylah played with her hair, running a finger through the side of her luscious locks of brown with blonde streak hair. "I had no idea anyone would be here today, so I decided to hang here. I'm Makaylah" she said rambling really fast. She wanted to be really good at first impression, but she couldn't help it when she felt the need to be who she really is, and Makaylah only know being herself. "Are you planning to stay? I can sure use some company!" she said sitting back down to her chair. She picked up the scraps again, hmmmm maybe she could make something to wear. Like a new head band or something useful like a wallet. Why waste money in stores when you can make your own clothes, Makaylah always did. Except for her sneakers, everything else was hardly store bought but the fabrics of the jeans she wore. Yeah some of those were still bought at the store she would admit to that.

Kate walked over "Hey"she said when she was beside the girl. She seemed nice and bubbly, just the kind of person Kate liked. She seemed to be using fabrics.Kate wasn't that creative with art and fashion. She loved music and it was practically her life. She didn't know where she would be with out her music. She couldn't write any music but she was good at playing it and she had what her parents called the musical ear.She hated it when people played out of tune,it really wasn't a nice thing to hear or to listen to.The reason she was good at playing the violin was because she had good intonation which was quite helpful when she wanted to play a musical instrument. She had always loved playing music, she had been involved with music ever since she was a kid,her parents had sent her to violin and piano lesson when she was four. Now she was a pretty good player and she actually liked playing it.

"I came to practice my piano"She said "I'm Kate"She said smiling.Makaylah was a strange name, she had never heard of it before. She seemed to be rambling,it was something she did when she was nervous and luckily now wasn't one of those moments because if she started rambling there might.Kate nodded "Sure"she said, walking over and getting a stool so she could sit opposite Makaylah. When she was settled she looked at what she was doing "What are you making?"She asked curiously

Makaylah looked up from ruffling a bit of laced together. Makaylah liked music, as it was in their blood line to always celebrate with the rest of her tribes and and Native American cousin to her tribe. She'd remember the summers in Maui, how festive it would be. Makaylah loved colors, the festival during the colors brought out all the colors Makaylah adored. But her favorite colors weren't always so shiny, in fact the ones she like the most were the colors of old dinosaur fossils. Or what she use to like, now and days she couldn't really tell what she like now. It has all gone with the change of youth, she blame herself for it happening though. For letting her ex become the center of her affection, for letting her childhood simply go away. Makaylah blame herself for being different now.

"If you still want to play this piano by all means go right ahead" she told Kate. Makaylah drop the scrap and shrug, "I was going for the head band look, still undecided" Makaylah sat back on her seat and set her foot right on the space area tables, she was lounging. Makaylah totally comfortable at all times showed no shame to her lazy behavior. She was sitting there taking it easy. She picked up the fabric again and a set of needles and started to entwine the fabrics together, whatever she was doing Makaylah was sure it would come out as wonderful as her own mother sewing. "So Kate, are you related to the Sara girl in Ravenclaw, you both sort of look alike I just never happen to ask" she started something randomly, Makaylah was aware that Sara and Kate maybe related but she wasn't sure how close they were together. She was only aware because words spread like fire, Makaylah remembered seeing the girl's face in the magazine the other week but she didn't bother with article. It all seem like from the first article, after that Makaylah had trash the zine and went on her way to class.

"Sure"she said walking over to the piano. She didn't know what she wanted to play exactly. If she had been on her own she would of just messed around and so on but she had company and she didn't want to be bothering her by playing complete and utter rubbish.Kate had always been into music. She had started learning the violin at four and piano a little while after. She still had her first violin,it was tiny and she wondered how she had ever been able to play something that was so small.Whenever somebody saw it they would always comment on how small and cute it was.It probably wouldn't be able to be played again because it was horribly out of tune and it was covered in all sorts of stickers.Plus she liked to keep on to it as a little reminder of herself when she was small

"Twin sisters"She said, putting her fingers on the piano keys. She had what her dad liked to call piano fingers, long and slender.Pure useless when it came to basketball, she had lost count that amount of times her fingers had been bent backwards. She and her twin didn't look like twins,Sara was dark while Kate was pale. They had the same colored eyes, but Sara's hair was darker as was the rest of their features.Sara was much smaller too.She wondered had Makaylah seen the gossip magazine. Not everyone had believed it and some people had just dismissed it but quite a lot of people had believed it and found it interesting. They would probably never find out who wrote it and this bugged Kate but she was getting over it "Do you have any siblings?"She asked

Makaylah watched Kate stride over to the piano, she sat down. Makaylah thought Kate look comfortable, it was cool to know someone whom played the piano. Makaylah went back to working on her own project, she was imply glued to the fabric the school had to offer them. "Oh, I was right then" she busy her eyed back in forth to her own project she was doing and talking to Kate. "She's quiet, very quiet. I hardly see her around the common room, maybe she's missing her own twin. That make sense" Makaylah babbled on. Making assumption didn't exactly mean she was right, but her mom always use to say you can tell with people, when they act a certain way or just not around much. Then again, she was basing her point of views from her own twin brother and sister. One born a squib the other one not. They still got along well, Seth loved Leia it was their dad who label Leia wrong, and that's not right.

'I have six older siblings" she beam, she finished a piece of her small project. It was a handmade bracelet, it's fin when you can do stuff with your hands and in by no means use magic to do it. Makaylah stood up and handed Kate the bracelet. "What you think are they cool or not? I want your honest opinion" Makaylah planted herself besides Kate, she started to play with the keys of the piano, she wasn't musical but she knew a few notes here and then by natural ear. The music in Hawaii was tropical, so you was bound to hear it everywhere. Musical or not, you can never ignore the beat of the drums during the long days or summer or the guitar strings ringing around the local food market. Makaylah messed her Island, she couldn't wait for the summer break in Hawaii, she would get to see her mom, sister, brother and the best of them all her little nephew Isaiah.

Kate started playing Adele's Someone Like You.She was playing the left hand part, which she had always found catchy even though the song was ancient."I heard that you settle down"She whispered as she played long with the piano. She then played a series of scales, starting with g major two octaves.Out if the corner of her eye,she saw Makaylah making someone,it looked like bracelets but Kate wasn't sure.Kate's fingers faltered slightly when Makaylah mentioned her reasons for Sara's quietness.Personally she didn't think that was the reason. They hadn't had a proper conversation in two years, they spoke briefly to each other, sometimes at the dinner table, just asking to pass the gravy or potatoes. The didn't hang around each other much, they never really had anything to talk about. They were okay with it and it suited them.Sara usually wasn't quiet either and she briefly wondered why.

"Wow"Kate said grinning. She had two younger and one older,by just two minutes.Kate didn't mind that much,it didn't really make a difference to her.She probably wouldn't be able to cope with six older sibling though. She'd hate to be the baby of the family. She often teased her baby sister,Star who was the baby of the family. But realistically she was only the baby by three minutes which wasn't really fair but it was the truth.Kate looked at the bracelets in Makaylah's hands. "Wow, they are beautiful"She said, smiling at the bracelets. She would never have been able to do them herself. She moved over so there was more room. "Do you know any tunes?"She asked

Makaylah beamed, "You can have one if you like, I'm giving one to a my friend Tamalia" she took back two the bracelets and pocket them inside her pants. She would have to remember that she had them there, sometimes she would forget where she put things and not realized that they were inside her dirty laundry pockets. "Not that many, just the songs I hear around where I'm from. You know like native music and drums playing" Makaylah played the key of C, she went down D,E,F and G, she went back to C again. Okay maybe she knew a little bit about music and measure, thanks to uncle, he was great at everything he did. Makaylah started to play the beginning of a song but ended up with something different. "Oooh, Ooooh, Oooh, Somewhere over the rainbow, way up high. And the dreams that you dream of once in a lullabyyyy" Makaylah had the confidence to sing, but the song wasn't sounded like the Hawaiian version on piano. She stop playing and peered around the room, she needed a classical guitar or a ukelele would do.

Makaylah stood up and walked to a closet where heaps of instruments were inside. She saw a case shaped like a ukelele, this will do! she open the first one she found and saw the brown ukelele inside it's case. Makaylah walked back to Kate's side, "Okay this will sound better" she started to play again, plucking the strings till she got the best sound out of them. "Do you know the song, it's an old classic, a muggel who was an old blues player sang this song. I never check to see if he was the owner of the song, but it always sounded peaceful" she said. Makaylah played a few version of the song, not the entire obviously she was going by instincts and the way her uncle would play the song. It would be really out of the ordinary if she develop the key of music out of the blue. No Makaylah played only what she could.
