Sitting at the Ravenclaw table for breakfast would be an everyday thing, more along a routine that Violeta Finch could get into. She gathered some eggs, toast and a few bites of fruit to give herself a balanced meal that she could tell her mother about. She was eating perfectly healthy now, and needed to stick to their plan. Though a small treat here and there would be okay. She reached for a sweet, and set it to the side to eat it afterward. She opened up her history of magic book and started to read a little. Her blue eyes washed over the pages to see that the entire history book was different than the one she had at home. This one was far more advanced. After all, the one she had at home was a mere child's book. This was something her brain really needed to take in. Violeta placed the scrambled eggs on the piece of toast, and started to eat her breakfast before classes would begin. She had a little while to go before she was due anyway. Violeta wondered what it was like in other houses. She swallowed her bite and peered down at the colors of Ravenclaw.

Oh yes, Violeta was completely satisfied in her sorting, and hoped her mother was too. She heard that her cousin Alana was sorted into Slytherin, was even Head Girl before she left. But that was all that she had heard, or remembered. Violeta hoped that she was the only Ravenclaw Finch, because she did not want to be confused with anyone else. As she chowed down on her food, she could not help but notice that someone was sitting next to her, wearing different colors. They certainly were not blue. They were red. Gryffindor? Violeta cleared her throat, before inquiring in a soft tone, "Gryffindor too loud, or did you mistake the Ravenclaw table for your own?"

There was nothing Aleksandra liked more than being a Gryffindor, except perhaps for having a giant feast. Aleksandra never got this much food at home and so she'd specifically gotten up early just for the feast. She had expected to see her brother somewhere, but he was nowhere to be seen. she supposed he was probably still in his dorm studying. He was always way more into books than she was. Aleksandra much preferred more physical pursuits. She'd already decided that she wanted to go and join the Quidditch team when the teams started up. She was excited for that because she knew her dad had been a quidditch player and he'd enjoyed it before he'd become an auror. She knew he worked really hard and she often worried that she would lose him to some horrible working accident. There were two aurors in her family and she worried about both of them. Her father and her uncle Sammy. She didn't think her aunt Hazel could handle herself if she suddenly lost her husband, but there wasn't anything that Aleksandra could do about it.

Sighing as she looked around at the Gryffindor table, she noticed that there wasn't really anyone around, it was probably too early for most of her house mates and so she looked over to where someone was sitting at the Ravenclaw table. She had no idea if they were allowed to sit at the other tables, but there weren't many people, so it was really now or never. She sat next to a Ravenclaw who seemed to be preoccupied with a book, the very definition of a Ravenclaw if ever she saw one. "So loud I can't hear anyone at all!" She said, piling a bunch of fruits onto her plate next to her bacon and syrup. Syrup on bacon was not something she had tried before, so now she was curious.

Violeta gave a curt nod when the Gryffindor mentioned that it was loud that she could not hear anyone. “That’s disappointing,” mused the Ravenclaw as she continued to read a little bit, her blue eyes turning back to her book. She did not really have much of a reason to speak right now, but since the girl had some syrup, and since syrup was a messy food, she best put her book away. Violeta sighed, closing her book and putting it away in her bag while she continued to snack away. “I’m Violeta Finch, by the way.” The Ravenclaw did not want to extend a hand in case the Gryffindor ate with her hands, and was sticky. Violeta was not able to tolerate such disorder. She told herself that she needed to be nice to others, as that was what her mother would have wanted from her. She needed to make friends, especially outside of her own house. “Enjoying Hogwarts?” The part-veela asked with curiosity. Violeta herself did not have many opinions on the school right now, since it was too early on.

Aleksandra laughed, loudly, as she looked at the Ravenclaw. Well, the one who was the same age her. There were a few Ravenclaws who were sitting at the table as well, but most of them seemed to be ignoring her. She took a bite of her syrupy bacon and coughed hard. It tasted terrible. She regretted it immensely. Aleks pushed her plate away and shook her head. She would be sticking to fruits and other normal foods for a while she thought. "It's nice to meet you, Violetta. I'm Aleksandra Kaster!" She was yet another Kaster in Gryffindor, no big surprise really. The only house her family had not been in to her knowledge was Hufflepuff, but her cousins had been in that house she was pretty sure. Lucy had been a Gryffindor too if she recalled. Not that she saw much of her family since her dad lived in the middle of Australia. Still, she thought she was correct. Aleks nodded as she was asked if she was enjoying Hogwarts. She'd only been here fo a short time so far, but she liked it well enough, it was weird not having her family all around her and she dearly missed her father. But she was learning to do things on her own these days. "Well, I haven't really been here very long, but I love it. All the magic and stuff. It's great. What about you?"

Violeta heard that the Gryffindor girl had a rather loud laugh. Was it on purpose, so that everyone could hear her, or just her character flaw? Violeta was not too sure. Violeta continued to eat in small bites as the Gryffindor shoved her plate away. Was the bacon in syrup really that terrible? Well, the combination did sound nasty. She was not brave enough to try it. Violeta cast a friendly smile toward the Gryffindor, who introduced herself as Aleksandra Kaster. “That name is rather long. Would you mind if I called you Aleks?” Violeta asked gently, since she didn’t know if she would mind a shortened version of her name or not. It did not hurt to ask since she would never know the answer otherwise. “I enjoy it. My mom teaches here every second semester. She teaches sixth years how to apparate and get their license. So, it won’t be too lonely here.” Violeta did not really have siblings that went to school with her. Who knows if her dad had any other children. “If you don’t mind me asking, are you Part-Veela as well?” Violeta did not like others knowing what she was, but if someone had the same race genetics as her, she would not feel as lonely.
