Being away from the common room, and with that her books and the homework she still had to do, felt good. Katherine had never been one to push herself into doing her homework, always telling herself she'd do it later and most of the times she actually did. Okay, sometimes she did it, but until now she had always seemed to manage, so she didn't really care. The young girl had always heavily disliked spending an entire day in a room with books laying all around her. She far more enjoyed wandering around the castle, most of the times ending up outside walking around the grounds or just sitting in silence, enjoying the fresh air. Making her way through a group of students, who were talking in the middle of the corridor, Kath finally found her way to the entrance of the courtyard. As soon as she stepped outside she breathed in the fresh air and made her way to the side, leaning against one of the stone pillars.

Although Katherine was a rather outgoing person and was always trying to socialize with people, she still hadn't found a lot of friends yet. She was the only one to blame though. Ever since she was little she had been very picky about who she wanted as her friend. She didn't mind talking to people and she would always be friendly to anyone who approached her in a friendly way, she just wasn't one to make friends easily. She would always want to make sure the person was fun to be around, good company, because what use would a friend be if he or she was dull and always sticking to the rules. No, Kath needed people who were confident of their case, people with their own opinion, people she would be able to have fun with. She was sure she'd find some people like that though, it's a big school right? And she still has three years to go.

Vixen was almost not appreciating the weather like it was. The sun beating down against her pale skin. She could not wait until next year when she received a huge change to her life. Ah, she could not wait! Vixen let out a sigh and she looked around the courtyard. It was a large area that had plenty of benches, so she thought about perching herself on one. However, there was only one free. Vixen found one in the shade, thankfully, and opened her journal to start writing. She wrote about how her parents were ghosts, and how much she hated not being out to hug her parents. It wasn't fair. She longed to be held by her father when she was having a bad day. She felt that she needed her dad and she didn't have a way like others would, but she would have to deal with other relatives, if only they were comforting. None of them really were, from who she could think of except Chavdar.

A small breeze shuffled through the air and she dropped her quill onto the ground. Vixen slammed her journal closed with one and rushed after her quill which stopped around the stone pillars. She murmured, "Damn it. I need to keep a tigher hold on stuff." She picked it up and noticed that her words were within earshot of someone else, a Gryffindor girl no less. Vixen recognized her from the classes but didn't know her name or anything. Vixen looked down and crossed the courtyard back to a bench. She sat down and folded her legs, keeping her quill safe within her hand. Today was not a good day for her, and she was being more closed to others than normal, perhaps due to the safety of her journal that rested just at her lap. She told it everything, and that was all she really did from time, except read upside down. Now that was a hobby of hers.
