Ostensibly, Jono was here for flying practice. Or seeking practice. Any practice that had him, on a broom, not making a fool of himself in front of the rest of the Hufflepuff Quidditch team. Which he was now on. Jono shook out his shoulders, trying to chase away the feeling of dread at the idea. Being on the team was great. Playing in front of everyone was... Less so.
So maybe Jono was procrastinating a little. And maybe that had been the plan from the beginning, considering he'd brought the rugby ball and his broom with him from the get go. His idea of levitating it for easy target practice had maybe been an over estimation of his multitasking ability and now Jono was just tossing the ball in his hands a few times, eying the Quidditch hoops speculatively.
He could totally get the ball through those. Totally.
Jono dug his heel into the ground, rotating until he had a good enough divet and propping the rugby ball in it. Then, after licking his finger and holding it up (mostly for show, mostly cause Trevvo always did it), Jono kicked, grimacing when the ball went barely 2 metres up and clanged loudly into the base of the hoops before bouncing off near the edge of the pitch.
