Lisa had to admit that her time away from home was beginning to take a toll on her. She missed her little home in the far side of Eigg, the little magical town she came from, away from muggle eyes. She missed the ruins of Grulin and the massacre caves. Though they emanated a sad history and served only as a reminder of true sadness, they were nonetheless her history and it was for this reason that she missed them. It was the first place her father ever took her when she was a child. She'd once complained about the lack of interesting things around their town and so all of the kids had gone on a tour around the island. Lisa missed her friends as well, they all went to the Scottish school, as she had thought she also would and yet she was in New Zealand instead and she was upset as well as annoyed. Her father had just up and decided that he liked New Zealand, despite her sureness that he'd never been here. She tried asking her father his reasoning behind leaving, but he'd simply told her he'd gotten a position working here and she had nothing else to say.

The Great Lawn was the only place in Hogwarts that bore even slight resemblance to her home. It was much warmer here and not as pure, she thought, but it was enough that she could close her eyes and imagine her home. She hated doing this, she hated not having a plan. She once had her whole life planned out and now her father had changed course on her and it was hard to find her way back to the day path. Sighing and flopping onto the grass in the middle of the Lawn, Lisa wrapped her arms around her knees and rested her head on them. She closed her eyes slightly and tried to think back to the day before her dad had told her they were moving. She wasn't normally a reminiscent person and in fact this kind of attitude annoyed her, but in this case she simply couldn't help it. "Ah, Da, ye've gon an made a reit gob o yerself. Why'd Ye make us move eh?" She wasn't really sure why she thought speaking allowed would help any, but it was kind of soothing to hear only her own voice for a change. All the people here spoke so strangely.

Noah Kingsley was beginning to rethink his close friendships with his Potter cousins after returning from his Christmas break. He had done his best to stay out of trouble all first semester which wasn't always easy when you family who insisted on causing trouble wherever they went. Aunt Kiera had been furious with the trio after they had disappeared on Christmas. Misbehaving at home was one thing, but the twins seemed perfectly happy to misbehave at school as well. Noah loved them, but his parents had made it very clear to him that he should be a leader, not a follower. He had tried to be a voice of reason, and occasionally, it worked. The young Slytherin boy really didn't want to draw attention to himself at school or give any reason for students to stare at him anymore than they already did for being the Minister's son.

The Slytherin had made his way down to the great lawn to enjoy the summer sun. Noah had always loved the outdoors. Before becoming Minister, his dad had frequently taken Noah and his brother camping. Fresh air really did heal the spirit. Noah had a school book with him and planned to spend the afternoon reading. He was walking by another first year girl when she spoke aloud. Noah looked at her with confusion. He wasn't sure what she said. "Um, I'm sorry, but were you talking to me?" he asked.

Lisa looked up, a little shocked that someone was speaking to her. She hadn't realised she wasn't alone, though she probably should've known. She shook her head at the boy and smiled slightly. "Naw, sorry I wasnae talking to yeh. Ye'all speak so strange here. Ah sometimes like tae be alone wi' me voice." Not hearing her own accent thrown back at her was hard sometimes. It only served as a reminder that she wasn't in Scotland anymore. She didn't think she was ever going to get used to having people not be able to understand her. Professor Pendleton was the only person she knew that didn't have to ask her to repeat what she'd been saying and some others made fun of her. She didn't worry about that so much though because she could look after herself in regards to her accent. It was everything else that was hard.

"Sorry, introductions though, ahm Lisa McCellan." She held out her hand for the boy to shake. He looked to be a Slytherin judging from his robes. "Do ye like Slytherin then? Ah've heard they all eh bunch o *******s." She didn't believe that of this boy though. "Ye're no an *******, are ye?"
