Abel tired trudged into the Duelling Chamber, a platter of fruit in his arms. Finding himself much too lazy to do much of anything today, he decided that he would just rest around down here. The full moon had recently come and gone, and this left him tired, and a little lethargic, but otherwise perfectly capable of functioning. There was no Student Defence Association meeting on today, he was here simply because he said he would be down here as much as possible, to keep himself available to any members of the association that may wander down here. He had re-lit the way with blue flames placed in the lanturns and candles, hinting to anyone nearby that there would be someone down here. He did not leave the path naturally lit, and expected that if anyone wanted to let others know they were down here, they would leave a trail like he had.

Abel looked at the platter, picking a small piece of watermelon off the silver tray and began eating it. He was not sure if anyone would be coming down here, he had not planned anything for today except to simply be here, and see if anyone would come down if they saw that someone was here. To the Slytherin, the SDA was also a place for people to socialise, as well as practise spells. How could one learn anything if they didn't have that ability to bounce ideas off another? He sat on the Duelling Arena, not finding it quite as dusty as it previously had been. As he had done when he hosted the SDA meeting, he made sure the room was warm and brightly lit. The dungeons were located directly under the lake, and could become very cold at times. With his back to the door, Abel picked the tray up, and began transporting it to the table on the forward edge of the arena.

Kris was happily walking with a book in his arms when he found himself in unfamiliar surroundings. He had looked down for five minutes to read about the 'bat bogey hex" and when he'd looked up he had found himself lost. He hadn't had anything planned for today so he took it into his stride and crept along the dungeon corridor, as it just seemed that this place was made for creeping.

He turned a corner and found loads of blue-flammed candles, so realizing someone else must be down there, Kris followed the trail and ended up in the SDA room. He stood in the doorway and watched as Abel, at least he thought it was Abel, walk towards a table. Unsure whether to go in Kris stood there looking about until he thought to introduce himself. "Uh.. hey!" Kris had only been down here once before and that was for the SDA meeting. Kris couldn't wait to practice.

He released a small yawn and covered his mouth, before taking another piece of fruit - a pineapple - and turned when he heard someone greet him. He smiled at the younger boy and waved him in, as he appeared to be hovering a little. There really was no point in that. "Hey, come on in. I don't bite." If Killua were here, Abel was sure his friend would be on the floor laughing. Even Abel was chuckling slightly, as he rather liked his joke. Even if it would make absolutely no sense to anyone but himself and Killy. Humour was the best way to recover, or so Briar said.

"Anyway, do you want some food?" He inclined his head to the tray. "Feel free to have as much as you like. I'm Abel Smith, by the way," he added, making sure that the boy at least knew who he was - and also opening the conversation up for the younger student to introduce himself.

Kris grinned and walked into the room as the older boy waved him in. He stood near him unsure whether he had made a joke or not, saying he didn't bite. Well it must have been an inside joke as Kris didn't get it. He just Shrugged as Abel chuckled to himself.

When he was offered food he happily took some, having missed breakfast. Kris was forever missing things, or late. It was just his thing. "Thanks! I'm Kris, Kris Turner. I sorta got lost and ended up here." He smiled. "How come you're down here all alone." It must have been terribly boring he thought.

Abel smiled and nodded as the boy introduced himself. He had a easily remembered name as well, which was always a bonus. While he was usually good with names, sometimes if the name was especially difficult, it could really be a challenge. Grabbing another piece of watermelon, Abel walked back over to the arena and sat on the edge. "Did you find the lighting helpful?" he asked, wondering if his idea of trying to make the association more open and personable was actually working. "I set them up for the purpose of helping people find their way down here - and actually know that someone else was down here." That was the biggest problem. Being built under the lake, the dungeons could feel like such a dark, empty space.

"Down here?" he repeated, as if to ask himself the same thing. "No reason, to be honest. I'm the leader of the Student Defence Association, and I said I would be down here as much as possible just in case someone wanted to come down here to practice or ask for advice or something," he explained. "Besides, I'm not that much of an outdoors person." He also did not fancy crowds too much, but there was little reason in dropping a huge amount of information about himself to the boy. There really was little point.

Kris nodded. "The lights were great, without them I doubt I would have got very far!" He moved to sit next to the older boy, "It gives it a sense of welcoming, which is needed down here." He indicated the dungeons in general. He took a bite out a some melon.

Kris nodded at the older boys explanation to why he was down here, and he smiled. "Practice how? D'you know any good spells that you could teach me? You must be really good to be the leader of the SDA!" Kris was starting to get excited. Maybe Abel could teach him a spell that would be of some use defensively, for if he and Boston were to go into the forest like planned, they'd need to know a spell.
