Let's Try This Again

Katheryn Kingsley stood nervously at the entrance to the great hall. She was dressed in a short, one shouldered cream dress. She looked stunning all the way down to her gray pumps. Kat had cut her hair off, leaving it very short. She intended to make it grow back after the dance was over. Mostly, she had done it to shock Jacob, though she hoped he would like it. The last time she had been here, she had seen Jake kissing another girl, leaving her heart broken. Now, the couple was back together and in love. Jake had asked her to the dance and Katheryn had agreed to meet him there. Still, the memory of the last dance was stuck in her head. The redhead sincerely hoped that this dance would be much better. Perfect. Katheryn and Jacob needed that.

Her blue eyes scanned the room, looking for her love. She didn't see him in the room, so she assumed that she had made it to the dance before him this time. Kat also did not see his tramp of a friend and she hoped the girl would have enough sense to stay away from the Valentines day dance. Kat waited patiently, hoping Jake would show up soon.

Okay so he had loads of nerves for showing up here and actually making this time right for Kathryn after last time unexpected turn. The fact he may have just lost his best friend for his girlfriend and his dignity was hanging on the line, what else the poor bastard had to lose? He already looked half unkempt, with black jeans and a button down ivory collar shirt, his toes were crampt into these shiney black shoes his father sent to wear for this occasion only. He felt like a complete idiot, walking, occasionally bumping to the younger students, dumbfounded by the way he was walking. By the time he reached the well decorated, to much red roses pedals, entrance of the great hall, he was about to just call it quits till he saw her standing alone.
Jake would've done anything in the world to make her happy, he felt his stomach jolted. "I love you" were the last words he said yesterday before he left her by her common rooms, they were the first thing he said before anything else when he saw her each day.
He would say so only that she could hear, it was becoming easy to say and actually mean it at the same. Jake was just so lucky to have Kathryn as a girlfriend, he would've been an as$ if she didn't take him back. Now that he had his chance, he walk with a perfect strive, dispite the aching of his feet, and met her eyes before anything else. "Hello sweetness" he calmly spoke, instead of saying, "I love you", he used another selections of words, just to make things easy for them tonight. "You look gorgeous" he lean down a little to greet with a wanting kiss, it expressed that he truly admire how'd she look, and his words were truly sincere.

Katheryn turned just in time to lock eyes with Jacob Holland. A slow smile spread across her lips as he approached her. Her heart sped up as she took him in. He looked handsome as he always did. His greeting was sweet and Kat could hear the love behind his words. She twisted her fingers with his as he reached her. Kat smiled up at him as Jacob leaned down to kiss her. She felt like there were butterflies in her stomach whenever he kissed her and this kiss was no exception. They broke apart and Katheryn grinned. "I would say that was quite the greeting." she teased him lightly. Rasing one eyebrow, she smirked at him. "And you look rather dashing if I don't say." she said, leaning back into his body, lifting her face for another kiss.
