Irene found it unfortunate that she could not meet with the sixth years every single week to prepare them for their apparation exam, but her current schedule would not allow such a thing. With a new Minister of Magic coming in just months, all of the department Heads were forced to attend meeting after meeting to explain what was being done in their offices. It was terrible. The woman entered the castle, her navy heels clicking along the floor as she made her way to the Great Hall, glad to see that her request to have the tables moved had been granted. The students would need space for what was planned today since this would be their first attempts at apparating. She wasn't expecting them to do particularly well.

"Come in, Come in" she urged them forward impatiently. The woman's blue eyes scanned the group before she reached for her wand. "Space yourselves out...there's plenty of room" she stated with a sigh as they remained bunched together. Once they were finished rearranging themselves, Irene gave her wand a small flourish and a large wooden hoop appeared in front of each student.

As she looked around at the student's faces, Irene's expression remained stern as usual. She gave them no expression of hope or encouragement. It was up to them to work hard and create their own hope. Her blue eyes stared at each student for the briefest of moments, making judgments about their ability to succeed at the task before them. She had been doing this long enough that she was rarely wrong. "Alright. Don't forget the three D's that we discussed last week. Destination. Determination. Deliberation" she stated clearly. "And, if you feel as if you're suddenly being pulled through a tube, don't worry. It means you're doing something right." She winked before looking around the room, wondering if any of them were familiar with the sensation from side-along apparition. It was definitely something to get used to and any of the students who had never done it were in for a huge surprise.

"I'll be walking around in case any of you get splinched and I've asked one of the nurses to join us as well" Irene began, nodding to the woman who was seated in the back corner of the room reading a magazine. Irene knew that there was always that one kid that couldn't be bothered to concentrate. She looked around wondering who that person would be today.

Irene crossed her arms and stood waiting for the students to begin. When they didn't right away, Irene rolled her blue eyes. "Whenever you're ready" she added a beat later in a droll tone. She didn't expect them to do anything much for at least the first little while. Irene allowed the students a few moments before she began pacing around the group, stopping to offer a suggestion here and there and demonstrating when she needed to.

Rp the lesson. Have fun with it! It is ok to not succeed today. You'll still get full credit so long as you RP!

If you plan on splinching yourself, please PM me first. :)

It was rather unfortunate that their apparition class wasn't held every week like their other classes were. Raziel, while rarely putting effort into anything, was really determined to pass this class. He had been reading a lot about apparition since their first meeting, and oddly, he was looking forward to apply what he had learned from their professor and what he had read form the books into practice. The ministry was pretty these days though, what the minister stepping down. He wasn't that interested in politics, but he knew that the change in leadership would affect all of them, whether the effect be small or big. The sixth year Ravenclaw, like their professor's advice last meeting, left all of his things on his room before he begun his descent to the great hall. His pace was slow, but he was not in a hurry. He woke up earlier than usual, it would give him more time to walk on his own pace without the worry of being late.

He was one of the first students to arrive. Once everyone was in, their professor began addressing them. He was already at a safe distance away from the class so when the woman instructed them to space themselves out, he didn't have to move. The Ravenclaw looked at the wooden hoop which appeared in front of him. Strangely, he felt excited. They'd finally be apparating. He wasn't really fond of traveling by portkey, it made him sick, though the truth was, he felt the same every time he and his father would apparate using side-along apparition. But that was beyond the case, he was determined to get a license to apparate.

The young Ravenclaw listened as their professor continued to speak. He needed to focus. apparition was tricky to pull off, and making a single mistake could be disastrous. He had heard of people splinching themselves after an unsuccessful attempt at apparating. He didn't really want to lose any of his body parts. He didn't really want his mother to worry even more about it, she was already opposed to him continuing his studies because of his condition, what more would she do once he gets home without his arms, or his legs? Though he supposed that the damage was repairable, that was why they have a nurse in the room with them.

At their professor's signal, Raziel turned his gaze to the wooden hoop before him. He repeated the 3Ds in his mind, determined not to forget anything. Destination. Determination. Deliberation. He couldn't mess up, he had to do it successfully, or not at all. There was no in between. He closed his eyes, trying to picture himself being inside the hoop. But he didn't feel anything, and as he opened his eyes again, he was still standing on the same spot. He did it over and over, but without any progress. He didn't really know why he couldn't do it. He sat on the floor, his legs pulled up, and he rested his chin on his knees. He observed the others around him, trying to learn from them. After a few minutes of not doing anything but observing, he stood up again, straightened his robes, and closed his eyes. He took a deep breath, counting on his head, trying to focus. He was not very good at focusing, but he needed to concentrate if he wanted this to work out. He thought about his destination again, the center of that hoop. Suddenly, he felt himself being pressed from all directions, and he felt sick. It felt like he was being pulled through a tube. It was all too sudden, but he was determined not to fail, and as he opened his eyes again, he was there, standing right where he wanted to be. A small smile appeared on his face, too small in fact that it was barely noticeable. He walked back to his previous position and tried to do it again. But he failed. He didn't know whether he just got lucky the first time. He tried again, his progress was slow, and he failed more often that he wanted to. But the important thing was, he didn't splinch himself, and he was getting out of the room without any of his body parts separated from his body.

It was unfortunate that apparation lessons were not as regular as other subjects. It meant that Jessie had plenty of time to doubt herself as she prepared for her second apparation lesson. When she made it to the Great hall she could sense the tension in the air among her fellow sixth years. As expected, some were confident, some were a nervous wreck. Jessie liked to think she was somewhere in between. The ministry official conducting the class was no less intimidating the second time around but at least Jessie wasn't seeing her for the first time and was a little more used to her. She took her place with the other students and she waited for the lesson to begin.

Jessie starred longingly at the hoop in front her. In that moment, the only thing she wanted was to appear at the other side, unharmed and intact. Her desire not to screw up may have manifested itself in hesitation because no matter how hard she tried, she remained rooted to her spot. "Destination.Determination.Deliberation" She muttered to herself. Fixing on the spot she wanted to land, determined to get there. Nothing. The lesson came to an end and Jessie had not moved from the spot she began it in. She knew that before she came back for her next lesson she would need to focus on letting go of her fear to fail, her fear to injure herself, let go and believe she can do it.
