These days Tamalia Rosalind Kaster was never in a happy mood. With the stresses that she was under right now, how could she be happy? Life just wasn't going the Gryffindors way and she was so sick of swallowing all the junk life threw at her like a good little Gryffindor girl. Sure, she had never been one to follow rules, be polite and respectful, or patient. But lately her behaviour had hit an all time low. Usually, she'd skip a few classes and do something else, this year? She hadn't so much as stepped foot into a classroom, and her exam results showed it, but she didn't care. There was only one class she would consider doing, maybe. Her blond hair blew was the wind attacked it, making it fly through the air easily. She crossed her arms across her chest stubbornly, her small frame staying perfectly still in the chilly air. The sun was setting over the lake, and once upon a time Tamalia could be seen smiling at the beautiful image, but right now a scowl was on her pale face, her emerald eyes staring blankly at the Rosebush. Right now, if she had a Nuclear Bomb, she'd use it to blow up that Rosebush, whether it was pretty or not, if it made Sammy feel better she'd happily do it. But unfortuately New Zealand had a strong standing against Nuclear anythings, she doubted she'd be able to get a bomb in here, that was just crazy talk. Taking a few steps forward, the Gryffindor flipped her hair behind her back and sat down on the dry grass, since it was Summer, there was very little rain, and the lawn was suffering for it, some blades of grass were a pale shade of green, nearly turning a light shade of yellow from dryness.

It had been a stressful couple of weeks for Tamalia, all through the holidays she was finding things increasingly difficult to handle. Family was ruining her life right now. Jack had decided that he felt like coming back, good for him, it was about time he realise who his real family was, but he couldn't expect everyone to greet him with open, welcoming arms, could he!? When Tamalia first saw him, she refused to talk to that idiot, and then he had the nerve to scold her for it because Samual and Lisa had been so welcoming, but her and Tess had held a grudge against him. He was only gone for three years! He seriously expected Tamalia to just run up and hug him for putting her through that? He was suffering from brain damage if he thought things would pan out like that. To make Tamalia's mood go further South, Samual was still being teased, not only by Annalie Darkhart though, but by that RHI magazine. Tama didn't care if he was one of the many people that had been pointed out, or that it was something small, it was enough to upset him and she wanted it to stop. How dare some piece of scum comment on her brothers personality? Atleast he didn't hide behind a magazine, hurting peoples feelings for entertainment, he helped people with his writing, he actually did constructive writing, not cr@p like RHI did. Folding her knees to her chin, Tamalia let out a heavy sigh, it sounded more like a growl, but she was sighing, sort of. Another thing that annoyed her was Samual's friendship with Kate Moon. That girl was bad news for her baby brother. Sure, the girl personally wasnt a bad influence or anything, but she wasn't helping Samual at all, in fact, she was making his life worse. Samual had been hugging people for years, everyone he met usually ended up getting a warm cuddle from him. But then he goes within sniffing distance of that Kate Moon girl and suddenly he's feature in the magazine? The girl was featured everytime, and sure, Tamalia thought it a little bit sad, but she didn't care about Kate Moons' sanity, she cared about Sammy's emotions, and if he stays friends with that girl, he's likely to get hurt again, and Tamalia didn't like that. Pulling her beanie off her head, she dropped it to the ground and released another grumpy sigh.

Kate walked out of the common room and down to the Great all.Kate had looked out the window this morning and she had guessed that it was warm outside. There didn't seem to be a cool breeze and the sun was shinning but she had brought a jacket just in case.Kate wasn't as happy these days. The holidays hadn't done much to improve her emotions. The day of the quidditch match had been enjoyable. She was glad Sammy's team had won.She had known most people on that team anyways.Artemis had played brilliantly especially for being the only chaser, the beaters had been excellent also and of course Sammy had been brilliant too or they wouldn't have won the game..Only bad thing about that day was when she had been in the stands she was almost sure his sister Tamalia had given her a glance and not a very friendly stare. She could only guess it had something to do with the fact of the two of them and the magazine as Kate hoped the girl had no other reason to dislike her since well Kate had never talked to her before. It was another thing to add to Kate's worries but she hoped it wasn't too serious as she didn't want to make an enemy out of her.If RHI wrote something about them again though Kate was going to watch her back.

When Kate entered the Hall she was glad to see no magazine hanging around the place though since it was a new term she was expecting one soon. She didn't really mind if she was mentioned but she would be seriously p!ssed if Sammy was mentioned again. She felt bad as it was sorta her fault he had even been mentioned. But in all fairness she didn't expect RHI to make anything of it because usually whatever was written had some seed of truth in it but the last rumor had been totally a rumor and an untrue one at that. She still didn't get 'their middles touched'. What was that supposed to mean?Kate sighed and finished off her breakfast of strawberries and weetabix. She was trying to stay on a balanced diet so she gained weight. She didn't look as bad as she had at the beginning of the year. She looked healthier and she felt healthier.Even though she wasn't feeling top of her game she still felt better. She definitely wouldn't be blown off her broom or fall through a crack in the ground. Not like she couldn't have done that in the first place.

When she was finished breakfast she walked out of the castle out to the Great Lawn. She was spending most of her time out doors these days.It was nice to breath in the fresh air.Staying stuck in a hospital breathing in the same air as everyone else hadn't been a fun experience. It had always been stuffy in the hospital room and it being a warm summer hadn't helped either. So now she liked breathing in fresh air.It made her feel better also. She walked along the grounds, enjoying the sunshine. Even though New Zeland and Ireland were on the same latitudes New Zealand seemed to get the nicer weather.Kate had always been a lover of sunshine even though she did like the sound of the rain when she was trying to get to sleep. As she walked along the grounds, she wasn't really taking notice of where her feet were stepping for that reason she managed to slip on something and fall flat on her butt. She landed with an umph and after the shock of falling she realized she had fallen right beside someone. How she did not notice someone sitting there as she walked by was beyond her but Kate had never been very observant. She looked down at what she had slipped on,it seemed to be some sort of a hat.She guessed it belonged to the person beside her. When she looked over to see who it was,her heart beat just that little bit faster. What a great way to introduce herself to Sammy's protective older sister. She guessed the hat belonged to her "Sorry about that"She said picking up the hat and giving it to her.Luckily Kate had learned the art of keeping your cheeks the right color when it came to being embarrassed. "I'm Kate"She said smiling trying to mask the growing embarrassment and concern

Tamalia watched the sunset, willing herself to enjoy it to any extent, but it wasn't working, not at all. All she could see were the imperfections of the lake, how it could be bluer, or the roses could reflect off the surface better. Just simple things like that kept jumping out at the Gryffindor, she had been viewing everything as if the glass were half-empty for a long time, but it was more noticeable now. It was probably because she'd given up on being happy, she hadn't written to Lewis, even though she had the biggest crush going on him, she refused to contact him, even though he had said where he was and the direction Starshine would have to fly in order to get there, he even gave her the best times to contact him, and the name of his little sister or cousin or somethign that attended Hogwarts New Zealand, had Tamalia taken up any of these chances to talk to him? Nope, she had been too stubborn, too scared, too stupid to even try. It was stupid really, why could she bring herself to climb those stairs with a half-decent letter to anyone? Even if it was just to Lisa, they used to always write to eachother, but now Tamalia didn't even bother to read mail from her family, it was just put in her pockets and forgotten about for weeks until she found it again and then threw it out because it was out-dated and probably didn't matter anymore. Grabbing a bunch of her hair, Tamalia started plaiting it, there was nothing else to do, besides, she grew her hair out so she could just sit and effortlessly plait it when bored or stressed, it had yet to work, but maybe this time it would help her out just a little bit, before she went on some sort of rampage or something.

Tamalia moved to stand up, but was squoshed by someone else before she could even move. "Ouch!" She cried as the person landed awkwardly, a part of them landing on her hair and pulling at it. It really hurt to. "What the heck are you doing, you idiot?!" She roared before even considering to find out who it was, when she did her facials didn't change, she didn't care that it was the little Kate Moon that seemed to be her brothers current close friend. Tamalia didn't much care for Samual's friends, they were all annoying in their own special way, or maybe it was the fact that Tamalia was easily annoyed that caused them to be so insufferable. To make things better she stepped on her beanie too, that was one of Tamalia's favourite pieces of clothing and now it just had a foot in it. Wonderful. Wearing a deadpan face, Tamalia grabbed the beanie and put it on the otherside of her, then sat up and brushed her hair from her face. "Thanks." She said unenthusiastically. Kate Moon wasn't going to try and talk to her was she? When she introduced herself, Tamalia's heart sank. Kate Moon was going to ty and talk. "I know who you are." The statement held no love, in fact, all the was emitted from Tamalia right now was strong annoyance. "You're my little brothers friend. The one that got him featured in Rumor Has It." She added. That was a fact Tamalia strongly disliked about Kate, she caused Samual harm and that was something that earned anyone to be on Tamalia's bad side, she was very protective over him for certain reasons that often fell back to the fact that Samual was very vulnerable.

While at Hogwarts Kate had never really made any enemies. She wasn't sure what was the relationship between her and the person who wrote about her in the magazine. They didn't seem to like her and for that Kate had no reason why. It's not like everyone will like her-nobody likes everybody. There is always someone who will just drive you up the wall with their personality or maybe there is someone you hate because of other reasons. She didn't know what it was with RHI but she probably would never know until the guilty culprits were discovered. The magazine really didn't bother her that much anymore,if Sammy hadn't be mentioned in the last one,Kate wouldn't have been too bothered but now Sammy had become involved.Stupid RHI had to start up rumors about something perfectly innocent. She wished she could talk to someone who hadn't got a big paragraph written about them on the magazine.Kate would really like to talk to Tara but she hadn't seen her since the day with Lilith and the girls. She wondered how she was.She hadn't spoken to Sapphire in a while either. So many people seemed to have drifted away or maybe it was she who was drifting. She hadn't really been sociable last year and had lost some contact.

Kate knew at once that things were not going to go well between herself and Tamalia.Kate didn't know much about her.the first time she had heard of her was in the magazine and that hadn't told her much about her.Sammy hadn't said anything either so Kate was relatively clueless as to what her personality was like but from the vibes Kate was getting from her she seemed the complete opposite of Sammy. It seemed the family resemblence ended with the green eyes.Their personalities were almost the polar opposite from what Kate was feeling from the moment anyways.Kate would be annoyed that someone had landed beside her and stood on their hat but she wouldn't be rude about it.Somebody was a bit touchy today and Kate wished she was anywhere but her.Why had she opened her big mouth and talk. There was no getting out of it now and she had to at least make up for the fact she had stood on her hat and land on her but Tamalia certainly wasn't going to make it it. Kate sighed and frowned at Tamalia Kaster who acted as if the whole world was against her.She didn't want to say anything about the seemingly permanent tone of voice used. "No bothers"She said ignoring the sarcasm intended. She wasn't going to be rude, she was going to be polite and pretend that Tamalia seemed annoyed at her.Well wasn't it good that Kate knew her name because then she wouldn't have a clue who Tamalia Kaster was. Kate was starting to tier of the negativity being shown to her.She didn't deserve to be treated in such a way.She didn't deserve to be blamed fro Sammy being featured in the magazine. It was hardly her fault. She hadn't made a scene out of it.It was that stupid kid who ran off and sent the rumor to RHI that should be blamed. The more reasonable part of Kate knew she should just take it on the chin but Kate was just p!ssed at everyone right now.She hated the way she had to pretend to be feeling alright when she wasn't "Well I hardly asked RHI to write about Sammy and I.Did I?If you want someone to blame, blame the kid that told RHI the rumor"Kate said anger in her voice.

Tamalia didn't really have a reason to be angry at Kate Moon, not really. Sure, she was angry that her friendship with her brother was only causing him harm, but that wasn't really the Hufflepuffs fault, not in the sense that Tamalia was making it sound. She was acting as if Kate was purposefully causing Sammy harm, otherwise she wouldn't just be acting rude towards her, she'd also be trying to slam her head into the ground, or a nearby tree. But the pressure and strain that Tamalia had been under as of late was driving her crazy, she just wanted to have some time alone with herself so that she could figure everything out, but Kate Moon had so rudely interrupted that, even if the slightly younger Hufflepuff didn't mean it. She quickly realised that she had unintentionally cornered Kate into replying to her, now she wished that she had just rolled over and ignored her. It was odd, but Kate seemed to be trying to keep a polite exterior, even though Tamalia was not hiding that fact that she wasn't interested at all. "Yeah... sure..." She muttered in response quietly, leaning her chin on her knees and getting into a sort of ball shape, she usually did this when she was angry so she wouldn't react as quickly as she usually could so then the other person had some time to get away from her. But such as life, she was going to have to prove to Kate Moon that she was not to be messed with, and that she was nothing like Samual, and that she was not going to tolerate Samual's friends being rude to her, even if she was rude first. She dind't care who started the rude conversation, all she cared about was that Kate Moon was taking it upon herself to be rude. What a horrible person!

Kate Moon probably thought that Tamalia was being rude for absolutely no reason, which was sort of correct, to any normal person, but to Tamalia, she had every right to dislike this girl for what ever reason, and she was within her rights to say what she wanted, it was called freedom of speech, which meant that Tamalia could do whatever she pleased. She wasn't breaking any rules with her behaviour, so there was no biggie. Kate was obviously angry, but so was Tamalia, sure, both were probably not exactly angry at each other, but that didn't really matter. Not to Tamalia. "Don't use that tone with me, Kate." She growled. She didn't care how upset Samual would be to find Tamalia being angry at Kate, and if he happened to wonder upon them right now, Tamalia could guess his reaction, and every one of his thoughts. He really would be upset, but right now Tamalia wasn't worrying about Samual coming across them, she was thinking abot how she was not going to allow Kate to think that she could say anything she wanted, just because she didn't like what words left Tamalia's mouth. "I'm sure you don't ruin your own life so you can be featured, doesn't mean I automatically overlook the fact that your friendship with my brother is only going to cause him harm." She explained. The added fact that Kate and Samual obviously were totally different sorts of people, from different backgrounds and beliefs also caused Tamalia to dislike her.

Kate didn't really see why Sammy's sister had to be so rude to her.Kate hated the fact that Sammy was mentioned in the magazine but Tamalia wasn't going to be able to protect her baby brother from everything and even though Sammy was hurt from the magazine,he wasn't going to be able to go through life with out getting hurt it was the fact of life.No on'es life was perfect and though she doubted his was he was going to have to be able to stand up on his two feet as Tamalia wasn't always going to be in the school to protect him.Kate would feel sometimes suffocated by the amount of cushioning. But then who was she to judge, something could have happened that made her so protective but that still didn't give her a right to be mean so to someone who had unintentionally got Sammy hurt. That wasn't fair and it was just plain rude but Kate was getting the sense that Tamalia Kaster didn't care about how other people felt.It was annoying and frustrating. She wondered where had it all gone wrong for Tamalia to make her so negative, angry and rude.Even though Kate was trying not to get angry at all the negativity being thrown at her,it wasn't that easy. It's never easy to keep a smile on your face when someone is being so rude at you.Kate took a deep breath and put the smile back on her face. She didn't want a full on shouting match or any type of fight for that matter.Kate wasn't exactly violent and wouldn't be able to bring herself to hit anyone even if they made her angry

Kate scoffed "And it's perfectly alright for you to use it?"She asked raising her eyebrows.Kate was really starting to dislike this girl which was a shame because she was sure Sammy would like if they got on,but Tamalia obviously didn't like her and there seemed there was going to be no changing of her views which was completely selfish of her but there seemed to be nothing Kate could do about it.Tamalia seemed to have chosen to hate the world which was not a very nice way to live but either something had happened or she just hated it for other reasons.Even though life had dealt her quite a couple nasty things she still tried to look at the positives on life. There was nearly always a silver lining to a cloud, some people never saw them because they gave up or were just to angry or upset to realize it. "Well it's surely Sammy's decision to who he is friends with,if he doesn't want to get hurt I will stop being friends with him but that doesn't seem to be the case"She said simply. If Sammy was too hurt by it she would of course stop being friends with him if it were for the best but RHI might even make a story out of that. But Sammy seemed fine being friends with her,she was glad he was because she wasn't sure how she would be feeling if she hadn't been able to talk to a friend

Tamalia rolled her emerald eyes when she realised that Kate probably wasn't going to go away, it was annoying having the Hufflepuffs presence near her, because Kate seemed to radiate annoying, no wonder why Samual liked her. Samual tended to befriend people that Tamalia wouldn't be able to spend a day with, probably because they had differing opinions on people and places, it was amazing that they both go on as well as they did, though it was probably thanks to Samual that the siblings got on in any capacity, because he was too nice to fight with any of them. Tamalia didn't care if she was being unfair to Kate, because she didn't know the fifth year, and she didn't care about her life, her problems or her opinions, she only cared about her relationship with her little brother and wanted it to be ended as soon as possible, if it meant that she would have to scare Kate away, she'd happily do it. Tamalia had to give the Hufflepuff credit, even though she was being less than pleasent towards the younger girl, she still managed to smile, but that didn't mean that Tamalia was going to lay off her, not at all.

Tamalia smirked condescendingly at Kate."Yes." She replied. Tamalia had little, to no interest in what Kate Moon was feeling, because she didn't much care for the girl at all, and if she left, the Gryffindor would be very pleased. Tamalia didn't much care for many people, she had enough friends, and family to keep her happy, it wasn't like she was lonely or anything. She had everything she needed and that was all she wanted, though occasionally she'd have to make decisions for her younger brother, he was helpless and needed her to help him through things, Tama was sure that Samual wouldn't be able to function on his own, he was just too naive for the world and he had to do protected. Tamalia scoffed, she could have laughed up a lung if she allowed herself to. It was completely laughable that Kate actually thought that Sammy could make his own decisions, he was young, and innocent and naive, he needed to be shown the way and helped along with everything, he wasn't responsible, or strong enough to make his own decisions and pick and chose who his friends were, because he wanted everyone to be his friend, but Tamalia knew that not everyone would want to be his friend, and she didn't want him getting hurt anymore, it was annoying and upsetting to see her little brother upset all the time, and she was determinded to make it stop, even if that meant scarying away people like Kate Moon. "You're wrong, Kate. Samual can barely decide what to wear in the morning, let alone who he should and shouldn't be friends with. You as the older person should be responsible enough to make the decision that is best for him. But you're not." She explained, crossing her arms across her chest and looking back out at the far away lake. Samual would probably be hurt if Kate ever stopped being friends with him, but he'd get over it, eventually.
