Demi knew the door had to be around here somewhere. It was only the second night she'd spent in the castle so perhaps if any prefects or professors caught her wandering around the school at night she would be forgiven. It wasn't as though they'd been given a map on their introductions, and even though there was a tour of the school this place was bigger than anything she'd ever seen before, she was bound to get lost sometimes. She was wandering around what she thought was the seventh floor, trying her best to find the steps to the towers. It didn't help that when the Ravenclaws had been led up towards them last night, she'd slipped away and thus missed the correct turning. Finding it herself later last night had already been a challenge, there was no reason why the Ravenclaws had to walk so many flights of stairs.

It was dark and almost silent as Demi cursed herself, padding down the center of the corridor. How had her father found his way when he was here? Her mom had had an easier time in Hufflepuff, but she felt a little comfort that there would have been a time when her dad had struggled like this too. She should have come up earlier when students were mingling around, but Demi had been too busy pottering to bother with going to sleep. She didn't need much sleep to wake bright and early and even though classes would be starting soon, she had no intention of getting a good night's rest.

Caius was having a hard time sleeping that night, so he'd decided to try and sneak up to curl up and watch the stars. He had his hands in his pockets, keeping an eye out for any older students as he padded along in his slippers. He was surprised when he saw a younger girl wondering the hall ahead of him. "Hey," He called out to her, keping his voice low. "Wait up," He smiled, trying not to seem intimidating as he hurried to catch up with her.

The hair on the back of Demi's neck stood on end when she heard someone telling her to wait. The first year peered over her shoulder to see a slightly older boy speeding up towards her and for a brief moment she thought she'd been spotted by a prefect until she realised he was also wearing a pair of slippers. Surely if anyone was doing prefect patrols they would have kept their robes on. "Hi?" Demi asked, pausing her walk across the corridor to give the boy time to catch up with her although she still didn't know what he wanted. Maybe he was lost too? "You're not going to take house points off me, are you?" she whispered, making sure before she gave anyone else her name that she wasn't going to lose points for her own house before the year had even properly started.

Caius fell in next to the girl, chuckling. "Nah, I'm not a prefect," He reassured her. "I'm just going up to the towers to watch the stars for a bit." He admitted, smiling impishly. "Whats got you out and about?" He started walking again, expecting the girl to follow him. She looked younger- maybe first year. His bet was that she was lost, but that was easy to fix, he could probably walk her to wherever it was she needed to go.
