The cheers and shouting was like nothing Veronica had ever heard before but it was not for her, they had lost. All the flood lights were shining down on them and all the spectators had their eyes on them for the past two hours but now that they had lost all the glory was soon lost and the center of attention were Thunderella Thunderers, the team of Australia who had beaten Vrasta Vultures. Veronica had caught the snitch at last because she knew that her team was not able to score enough goals to come up to match the Thunderella Thunderers and she was not going to have the other seeker catch it and have another hundred and fifty in their account. It had been Veronica's second International Qudditch game and this time the Vrasta Vultures had been beaten badly. The score was 350-170. Sighing deeply as she heard the Captain swear in rapid Bulgarian at the team members and pointed out their mistakes she stood in line waiting to shake hands with all players from Thunderella Thunderers, not because she was keen to be friends with the enemy but because they were required to do so.

As she shook one hand after another she soon came upon to Charles Fera, a beater from Thunderella Thunderers and frowned at him. "Yeah yeah, you won" she told him as she shook his hand. She couldn't believe she was going to have to treat him but a bet was a bet and she had to do her part now that her team had lost. She was really glad that some of the big supporters of Vrasta Vultures wanted their autographs despite of what had happened on the pitch today. Signing a few autographs she watched as the other team got all the claps before they headed off to the changing rooms. After a quick hot bath trying not to think about the injured chasers of their team who probably had few bones broken she got into some normal clothes. She swore as she looked at her face in the mirror, her lower lip was slightly swollen thanks to the seeker of the other team who had tried punching her as they had both rushed for the snitch.

Taking her bag she said goodbye to her teammates promising to meet them in the next two hours at Bulgaria so that they could all sit in a meeting and get their butts kicked by the coach for losing. She walked out towards the exit of the Pitch and told by body guard to take some rest. She frowned at Charles and said "You can continue giving out autographs but don't complain later that I didn't keep my part of the bet"

To say that Charles Fera was leading a good life right now might seem like a bit of an understatement to most people. Recently out of Durmstrang with high grades and various accomplishments such as Prefect and Quidditch Captain; he seemed like someone who had any and every possible career path wide open for him to choose from. Although from a young age Charles knew what career path he had wanted to choose and that was the life of a Professional Quidditch Player. Now Charles wasn’t one to just sit back and wait for things to come to him; oh no! Charles was someone who had taken control of his life from a young age and his career path was definitely something that you couldn’t just do on a whim. For many years Charles had worked hard on his Quidditch training and was easily one of the best players that walked through the Durmstrang Halls and when it came time for him to start pursuing his dreams it wasn’t long before his talent showed off and he got offered a place with one of the best Quidditch Teams in the World. Needless to say, Charles was a happy man. Sure training could be a pain in the butt sometimes, and the arms too as he had to carry around a heavy bat the whole time: although he was more than used to the weight of it by now. Next thing most people would say he would need in his life is a girlfriend. Well at one point Charles would have agreed, he was always quite the ladies man but he felt like he was much too mature for that now and settling down would have been a nice idea but for now he only had one girl in his life and that was Adele Fera; his daughter. It was still hard for him to think that he had a daughter – a month old now, and he was not even 19 yet. Granted he wasn’t rather fond of the idea himself when Luna first told him that she was pregnant with his child. He had just got a place on one of the biggest Quidditch Teams in the World – becoming a teenage father was not something that he needed. Although being a man of his word he helped Luna throughout her pregnancy and played a very active role in his daughter’s life. While he may not have been too excited at the idea of a child at first he slowly but surely began to like the idea of having a child of his own and when Adele was finely born he had instantly fell in love with her. She was just the cutest little baby girl and, while he might have been biased, he couldn’t think why someone wouldn’t fall in love with her instantly. Most of the time she stayed with her mother, Luna, which Charles completely understood because with his career he couldn’t really look after a child all the time – plus Luna’s flatmate, Patricia, was a Healer so that put him at even more ease. Although when he would get a weekend off from training Adele was all his and he really did love spending time with his little daughter.

Right now though, Charles’ mind wasn’t on his daughter but more so the game at hand. He had been looking forward to this game for some time now. Not only was it against one of his teams’ biggest rivals, or even that fact that he was playing against his own personal rival, Aiden Mauven or his girlfriend (and friend of Charles) Miriah Johnson. No, those things were not the best part of this game, the best part was that when his team won he got to rub it in on one of his other friends who played for the team but that had also been stupid enough to place a bet against him. As the game continued it became all too clear to Charles that his team definitely had it in the bag – an easy win. When the end of the game came and the team had to shake hands with the other team he let an obvious, almost obnoxious smirk cross his face when he shook hands with Aiden, Miriah and more importantly; Veronica – his friend that he had bet with. As she spoke a few words he could hear the obvious distaste in her mouth and laughed slightly at it. Once the formalities were over with he signed a few quick autographs and posed for a few pictures before going to get changed. When he came out, clean and in new clothes he waited near the changing rooms of the other team and signed a few more autographs of people that had waited behind for the players to come out. When he heard the voice of Veronica he chuckles slightly. “That was the last one actually.” he told her as he gave the fan back her signed picture. “So that was a fun game.” he said with a smirk as he stuffed his hands in his pockets, a playful glint in his eyes. What was a game between old friends?
