When the rain
Is blowing in your face
And the whole world
Is on your case
I could offer you
A warm embrace
To make you feel my love

Marseille, France

Jamie had to travel with Tillian for the moment and after getting permission from the Headmistress they where off to the oldest city France and one of the most magnificent that Jamie had been to at least currently. Tillian was called away to deal with the whole adoption thing and as such was the case Jamie had to present for all the court hearings. It did not bother him that much as he was well ahead of his school work and asked for all of his homework and assignments in advanced which he did on the plane ride over to the city. He did not care for non magical travel but since the villa that they would be staying at was owned by one of Tillians's muggle friends they were forced to keep up appearances. Jamie did not complain but that was not a stretch as he rarely complained about anything he was very much to himself much to his guardians frustration but overall he really liked Til and was truly glad that the man cared enough for him to adopted him.

After the plane landed Jason, Tillian's muggle friend, Help them load there things into the car where they took a short drive to his Villa. The home was gorgeous and magnificent but that was to be expect from a surgeon since based on what Jamie new about muggle medicine it was a job that earn much respect and money. After settling into his room Jamie decided to go out for a little while and so after getting a considerable amount of money from Tillian he decided to head into town. Of course with Marseilles being a large city he would be able to fade into the crowd and just be a normal kid again well almost normal since he did have his wand just in case of an emergency. Jamie decided that he would check out a local attraction and a stunning place to visit and that was basilique notre dame de la garde. It was an old cathedral that belonged the catholic church and was where many traveled on various Pilgrimages and so it seemed only befitting that so far from home that Jamie would decided to stop in and say a small prayer.

Once Jamie arrived it appeared that the church was less busy than normal and so as not to disturb many of the faithful he sat in a pew in the back and simply looked around at the beautiful architect. Jamie paid little attention to the people around him which was not much different than how he treated his peers while he was at school, he just cared little for those around him having not the courage to introduce himself or ever try and make a new friend. However Jamie could not help shake the feeling of judgement as he sat on the hard wooden pew, he did not know if it was because he was a wizard or because of his secret love for boys he just felt alienated as if this was not his rightful place but that was soon washed away when a small choir of men in the front began to sing a woeful chant in Latin which he did not understand but awoke something inside him that could only be described as love and acceptance. A single tear escaped his grasp as it rolled down his innocent face as his eyes remained transfixed on the beautiful song .

Leonardo De La Cruz, aimlessly wonder the given paradise of Marseille, France when he was given the whole day of to relax and part away from his band mates. The long travel together the many shows they were required to perform the rise to fame soon prove to be much more like a job, rather than Leo showing casing his talent to the world. The nights he played, the morning he rarely sleep before he awake three later of sleep, they were off again on tour, another city another place. A cycle he was force to live by all for recognition and to get paid pretty money. None of it was worth it, he remembered the days when doing jigs at the hog heads were fun and nothing more but a group of friends having fun. He remembered, and wished if he could return to the simple life, he wouldn't hate what he like doing best.

It sad to see when it came down to wandering the fancy historic streets of Marseille, he had to hide under a pair of shades and chappy old hat. He did his best to keep his cover low and identity unknown, although he wished he could walk normally instead being chase by the local fans of Ares Moon, Leonardo played it well. Like a theatrical actor, no one could recognize him. He ate at a cafe casually, no trouble occurred when he sap his cup of coffee. No one noticed the famous bass player, he like being normal. He enjoyed the serenity alone, but he also enjoyed watching the locals perform for him once, rather him playing over and over again. He loved the non attention he was not getting, it made it more easy to spot a lonesome boy sitting alone, listening to the acapella of Marseille sing and the church bell as he sat right next to the lonesome younger looking male. "Ahllo" he greeted, smiling at him.

Jamie did not notice when the older boy sat down next to him and in fact he completely was oblivious to the world around him until the gentleman said hello to him. As if he was coming out of a beautiful dream his head turned to face the person who was now seeking his attention and what a small shock Jamie encountered as soon as he saw the man. It was not that he knew the man or found the man repulsing but he was not expecting the face to look like it did when compared to the voice, what he was expecting was someone far older and more mature looking. The boy or man looked several years older than he did and had a charm about him as his smile seemed to make the world seem more wonderful and his eyes held a flicker of hidden passion that gave Jamie chills that was hidden beneath his jacket. Overall the boy was as beautiful as the boys at Beauxbaton that Jamie had to wonder if he they had went to school together at some point in time. However it would be one of many questions that he would never know the answer to as his shyness incapacitated him once again as he simply smiled at the man without speaking a single world as he politely stood and began to wonder around the church.

Jamie could not help but look up at the intricate design of the high ceilings as the colors made him almost breathless and the way the sun seemed to filter in through the stained glass windows as a set of clouds rolled in with their threat of rain. Jamie felt like a prince living in a ancient castle and as he walked along the out wall he allowed his eyes to look around at all the people who were kneeling or snapping pictures. A smile crossed his face as he was reminded of his first time at Hogwarts and how blown out of the water he was then by a building that he now ached for his sketch pad so that he could take a piece of the imagery with him when he left this mesmerizing church. Taking a deep breath he dared to take a glance around in search of the strange boy but with so many people he gave up within a few seconds as he returned his attention once more to his surrounding as he contemplated where he would head to next on his own little tour. The choir finished their hymn and after a small smattering of applause took their leave for lunch which gave a vast majority of the people in the cathedral the same idea as the place began to clear out.

Leonardo eyes meet the extraordinary gleam of the boy's azures blue. Their connection lasted more than 30 seconds, before the boy stood grounds and loom away into the crowded church's open space. Tourist big and small were taking in the sights as so many come here to visit the Cathedral. Many have travel far across the world to meet the highest of them all and experience the history behind these stony arches. It was expected he will catch very little of the younger boy now, Leonardo thought of it a passing meeting, nothing more. He elevated himself to stand, and search the stones behind dark shaded glasses. Many writing occupied the walls, some were translated, others he found himself difficult to make out the alien writing. By the time he reached the end of of the walls, the stain glass were the next thing on his list to see.

They were beautiful glass, colored in shape and sizes, to make one bigger image when you stood back. The saints where painted follow by the muggels gods and followers. he lean against the walls, admiring of the Shepard and the herds painted along the glass too. Living in the wizarding world, where he was taught to believe in something else, it was kinda ironic for Leonardo to be here. Amongst the believer and the follower, he was out of place. Leonardo dark gaze fell over to the crowd again, and saw the small younger boy admiring the building itself, he wonder standing there, if he was muggel or not? Something told him, well he had a nitch telling him that he may have found another wizard in a crowded place filled with muggels tourist.

Jamie smirked as he spotted the young man standing off on the other side of the cathedral deep in though as if he was trying to solve world hunger or something as equally important. He also did not miss the fact that the man seemed to look around for him even though Jamie blended in well with the muggles as he was not like his caretaker Tillian who had no sense of modern style of his own. Jamie decided that he would be bold and do something out of character far from his comfort zone which was to try and make a friend of some sort. Besides the worst the kid could do was punch him and all things considering, he did not leave here and thus would only see the boy for a brief period in time. Walking over and stepping out of the shadows beside the boy he decided to admire the same window pane as his interesting companion, the glass depicted Mosses and the burning bush which was his first step into a life long journey which would change him from a simple shepard to salvation for many. It was almost ironic that Jamie would be looking at such a window with envious eyes as he too was about to take a similar step but one far less grandiose as the shepard boy.

Jamie spoke titling his head slightly to the side as he he used his peripherals to view both the boy and the window at one, "It is something else isn't it? I mean the window! How something so basic can be so beautiful, not saying that it is not intricate in design but rather that by arranging glass in a pattern and allowing the sun to shine through can bring grown men to there knees." It was a simple statement that served as an open invitation for the boy to chime in with his opinion and allowed plenty of room for options as too which way the conversation could go however with all of the signs pointing in the right direction he still wondered how the boy would react and that caused his palms to sweat slightly.

Leonardo smirk. He had saw the same vision as the boy, yet he went onto disagreeing, shaking his head. "I guess it's alright if you like that sort of stuff, but it's not an art gallery so I did not see it that way" he back both his hands behind him, and slid a foot to rise against the back of him. The crack clay walls made from a thousands and thousands years ago, supported the boys figure. "Are you actually here for the art? Or to lose track of time?" he wonder out loud, he suppose that remark was meant for his head. To late and not regretting asking he waited on the younger boys reply. He like to assume what the boy was going to say, guessing he was here for the history besides the art. Than he would predict he would say but art is history is it not ?! Men from their time did not know they were creating art just by mixing colors and formation, some knew like Da Vinci.

Where they use their extraordinary talent to create masterpiece, and as many things that take age eventually become history. So in a sort way, History was the one connected to the art, he wonder all that in a short second. Leonardo encourage the interaction with the boy. It's not any day like this where he could shared his mind with someone else besides his band mate. His friends hardly get to see him, and when they did it was a warming reunion. His band mate had become a part of him, like family, but he always doubt they would share the same kind interest. And why would they? Besides the music, he never saw the possible of topics they could talk about, and besides his sister Willow, their time together always involved rough housing.

Jamie smiled as he allowed the older boy his "I am a bad boy and so this is so not my thing" attitude slide this time but that was only because the guy did not a.) punch him in the face b.) called him queer or c.) speak another language. This was of course a great start to Jamie's brief stay and one worth not screwing up in case by some stroke of genius he managed to make a friend. As the boy reclined against the ancient pillar, Jamie turned towards the window and marveled once more at the window as picked out the subtle detail in what took ages to create or so it must have felt like e decided to also answer the boys rather forward question. "I am new in the area and so with my guardian we are in town for a few days as Tillian my new adoptive father puts the last touches on all the papers to make the adoption final. So since I had a little down time I decided to do a little sight seeing which brought me here." Jamie said with a soft smile as his tone suggested that his new companion had pegged him all wrong.

Art to Jamie was like music to Beethoven, it was his life and his eternal obsession and as such he found beauty in the smallest and most abstract way so in small part he was drawn to the church because of his desire to feed his obsession. However he had also came in hopes of find some solace and comfort in his faith which he was set in no matter what anyone else said or did because it was faith was what got him through even when it was some much easier to given. Jamie took a deep breath as well as a equally long exhale before he decided to learn a little more about his company by asking one of those all too predictable questions," So what brought you here if it was not for the art or the spiritual fulfillment?" Jamie said but this time he face the man as one of his eyebrows arched ever so slightly to the question. It only seemed fair that for every answer he gave he too should receive an answer no matter how appropriate those answers were though he hoped that the conversation would not become too stall as he would then be forced to wander the streets alone which seemed far too lonely even for him.

Leonardo listen to the boy, he hardly meets anyone like the boy that would trust him that easily with that sort information. Unless if it was one of his admirer, no one was that much of an open book. Leonardo, himself kept much of personal life away from the media. They even tried asking those formal questions about his love life, every time they did he would shun them nicely and turn the other way. Or give them a general answer, it's all great and stuff!"Your adoptive? Cool, my sister one of them is too sort of" he shrug, he couldn't care much about he youngest of the three. Esme was adopted, but age broke her away from the agreement. She change her name, now she went by the name Lively instead of Makwa, she was officially on her own now. While Leonardo remain to live at home, the village and the vineyard was home, and no one in his family wanted to rush him out of the house. Besides he hardly was there, so when they saw him, they couldn't bare for him to move out.

"I'm staying at a hotel here from work, and I decided to sight see too. The museum I had no idea where to go, so I settle for this, in a way it sort of like a museum except...." he pause to say anymore, the boy would get it. He seem smart, Leonardo regard to say anything else on the subject."I'm Leonardo" he took off his shades and extended his hand to greet the boy, "And who am I having a stimulating conversation with?" a rather long way to reflect his greeting back. He should be use to it by now, greeting strangers and meeting fans, he was but strangely he like the boy's company very much.

"My name is James but you can call me Jamie since it is what everyone else calls me." ,Jamie said as he offered the man his hand to shake as was common in most parts of the world as a sign of greeting. It was not common in Japan but he doubt that he would insult the man with the 'Euro' greeting and so stuck to was safe and normal. Jamie was not skilled at shaking hands and often times was told he had a weak grip and that his hands were far to soft for a man's hand but that was because he spent most of his time hitting the books rather than playing outside with his friends. In fact the only physical sport he ever practice was of course Judo, swordsmanship, and archery but that still could all be pointed back to books as they took great levels of focus and practice to be effective in any real capacity. However now his mind had wandered far away and so he gave his head a quick shake causing his dark hair to fall in his face which incited a rather annoyed look on his face as he tried to push it back off of his face. After what seemed like forever he managed to position the unruly hair a top of his head so that it would stay put and so he was now free to continue the conversation.

"It is a pleasure to meet you Leonardo do you mind if I call you Leo as your name reminds me of a famous painter and it becomes oddly distracting for me because I then begin to visualize a thousand different works of art. Besides Leo is a good strong name that reminds me of lions but that could be because in some way they are both the same and you seem lion like for the most part.... I mean ... oh Broomsticks I am rambling on!" Jamie said as he smacked himself in the head and turned away from the boy as he tried to compose himself. He was a talkative one but that was in small part because he had almost zero friends and so anytime he met someone he opened the flood gates and would go on and on to no end. It often times ended in him talking to himself as his companion would need to leave to do some grueling task that they really did not need to do but found more stimulating then talking to him.

"Jamie?" he repeated back. "Cool, and Leo is fine" though Leo gave him a weird look, one that question this stranger in front of him. "Wait did you just say oh broomsticks? Oh my Merlin beard!"his frantic outburst cause a hazard of attention, he hadn't mean to shout out that loud. But it's rather odd, on a day like this one, he find a wizard in a muggel worldly place. Strange, very unusual, yet exciting. "Your a wizard aren't you?" he asked when the attention died down and it was safe to say so. When he had drag him down, away from earshot and no magical law could be broken at their present time. "What are you doing here?" he ask because he happen to be young, and most young wizard don't just wander around like older wizards. They were contain, due to outburst of magic being use and all the stuff that happens when your young, basically a young teenager.

The conversation went from normal to simply odd considering that Jamie through no effort of his own had managed to find the one single other wizard in the area. It was made even more odd considering that he had done so in the last place in the world he thought to meet a wizard and that was in a church sense religion and magic did not seem like life long best friends. Jamie was dragged closer to the boy where no one else could hear them which was perfectly fine except for one small problem, the personal space between him and Leo had in a blink gone out the window. Jamie could smell the man's cologne and feel the warmth the young guy was radiating through his clothes which knocked the breath out of him and left him in a daze as he want to reach out and nuzzle himself into the man but that would not make anything better and so with great effort Jamie managed to resist though he could not cover the blush that had spread across his face.

Jamie took a deep breath and pulled the boy after him down an empty hall way where no one could here them, "Yes I am a wizard and I am here dealing with some personal matters with my soon to be Father. I attend Beauxbaton but as I was required to make an appearance in Muggle court my guardian brought me with him for the weekend. What are you doing here?" Jamie said in a low whisper as he once more in control now that he and Leo were not as close as before. Jamie leaned his thin body against the cold stone wall as he faced Leo and was able to see him clearly as he could not fight off the feeling that he somehow knew the man from somewhere but for the life of him he could not remember where and so he tried to figure it out while the man paused to explain himself as Jamie was not going to be the only one to spill the beans.

Relief washed over the tan boy, he was pulled by Jamie down a more secluded corridors. A ting of sensation ran up Leo's leg, for Jamie touched had cause this odd sensation to occurred. Leonardo being physically attracted to boys was use to this happening at odd times, and let's just face it the boy was adorable in every sense. He had clear blue eyes and skins was olive tone to perfection, something Leonardo love in some guys he would crush on. Leo cleared his throat, to disturb him from the image playing in his mind, he step back and scratch the back of his neck. He hope little Jamie, hadn't notice.

"Oh that makes zero sense to why your here, but I figure well it is history and the way you describe this place makes me believe you enjoy art?" he smile at the boy, showing his row of perfect teeth. "What I said was the truth and plus I'm on break with a band I play with. Ever heard of Ares Moon? I play bass, we came here and today was my day off. In the muggel world were hardly recognize, so here was the perfect place, plus I do enjoy history" he went on rambling, his darkly brown eyes beam with excitement. I can't believe you go to the academy, small world, I graduated from there not to long ago" he added to much of everything else he reveal.

Jamie had not heard of the band before but then again he was not a fan of wizard music as he grew up muggle and in the care of temple master and so music was just something that he did not care much for but he had no doubt that it was a popular band among his peers. James smiled but shook his head to convey to the older man that he had not heard of he band but hoped the smile would soften the blow enough so as not to insult the man. However that was before the man ruffled his feather by saying that his reason for being in the town made zero sense when it made perfect sense considering that it was in fact the truth. Jamie did not like to be proven wrong especially when he was right, it was like that time in school when he showed that it was in fact possible to win a duel without casting anything but simple house hold charms. It was an interesting duel to say the lease and one that earned him several annoying nicknames that he would never repeat even under pain of death.

"Well I am appalled that you think I am lying as I am clearly telling the truth as it is not something that I would have reason to lie about considering that I need no excuse to be here." Jamie said with a sour look on his face as he crossed his hand across his chest before squinting his eyes and look away from the boy as it was now clear that he was annoyed and outrage. Jamie did hear that the boy graduated from the same school and decided it was there that he must of seen the boy though he did not know when he exactly graduated.

"I'm not trying to offend you, but you are in a muggel church and well, they do have something against magic" it's like saying you want to get hang by being here. "And the fact that your young and all" he shrug, the boy took it the wrong way. He hope he can make it up to him somehow, and decided maybe a lunch would do it? "Hey, do you want to grab something to eat? I'm feeling famish and I think I have enough lingering around here" he chuckle ruffling his own hair to the side. He wanted to make an awkward situation better again, poor Leo, he sometimes forget what he says without thinking about it first.

"I am sorry but I am rather busy but you know if you give me a way to contact you I will take you up then that is if you do not mind." James said with a smile as he placed is hands behind his back and began walking around the boy with a michievous smile on his face as he had not problems playing difficult. However much fun the conversation was he knew that he would not be in the area long and the from there it was no guessing where the the world would take him as he was not one to be held down in one place too long. He felt that the same could be said about the beautiful stranger standing in front of him now and who knew maybe some day they would meet again in some far off place as passerbys but for now reality was pulling them in different directions. It would be foolish to ignore the fate's siren call no matter what one felt or believed was right at the time so James waited patiently to see how Leo would respond before he took his leave for now.

Shot down, Leonardo chuckle. He was young, what more did he expected to happen between them? He would have like going out to lunch and talk about something else, besides the old church again. Instead of asking why not, Leonardo settle with his suggestion. "Fair enough, here's my contact address" he took out a muggel pen and wrote his address for the boy to keep. "Word of warning, it's going to be really hard to contact me" the tour he was on, gave no prediction in which he will be back home. "It was nice meeting you!" he smile cheeky at the boy, he move pass him and walk back towards the main entrance. He gave one last look to the boy, cause really he didn't want to be where magics folks were unwanted, otherwise he stayed and chatted a while longer.

Jamie took the man's information with a small smile and placed te paper in his pocket for safe keeping, knowing that when he got home he would put it in his journal so that he would have it for that day he got up enough courage to write. James took the warning with a small nod as he figured that he himself did not have a steady home for people to get ahold of him so why should he expect others to as well but with owls he did not need to know the finer details as he was sure that the boy would get his letter somedau in the future. "It was fun talking to you and maybe someday I will send you a letter or better yet maybe someday we will run into each other on the street or in some oddly beautiful place like this old cathedral." Jamie added with a smile as he watched the young man walk away and head out of the church. The clouds outside lookinggrim as the wind began to pick up slightly as rain threaten to ruin a rather wonderful day so Jamie gathered his things and made his way to a nearby coffee shop where he could sit and draw out all the wonderful things he had seen in the church... and the ever so charming new friend that he had made to keep him company on those lonely days at Beauxbaton.
