Indi had been a little surprised when she had been asked to help run the Student Defense Association with Flynn. She had never really talked to him much outside of club meetings. Even during meetings she couldn't remember a time she had said anything other than a polite hello. They were rivals when it came to quidditch but she was able to put that aside when it came to SDA and the dueling tournament. Even though she hadn't won last year she was pleased that her skills had been notice and rewarded. They had decided to meet up today to practice and talk about the club but so far they hadn't done much talking. She felt rusty after not being able to use magic over break and it felt good to have her wand in her hand again. It also helped that this was one part of the castle Anisha and Rafee weren't likely to stumble into. With a smooth swish of her wand she cast diffindo and smiled as the spell hit the dummy and some of it's stuffing spilled out. Indi took a deep breath and glanced at Flynn. "So got any big plans for the club this year or did you expect me to figure that out?" she asked teasingly as she caught her breath.

While, realistically, Flynn knew he could have probably managed to lead the SDA by himself for one last year, just having someone else around would be much more useful. Especially when it came to planning meetings and working out the logistics for the duelling tournament. And when it came to picking, Indira seemed like quite a good choice to him. She had the experience and wins under the belt, and she was tolerable, which was more than he could say for some people. Now he was old enough to cast magic outside of school, Flynn felt far less rusty than usual. He'd been practicing a lot of his non-verbal magic, wanting to master as many spells as he could in preparation for the tournament. This was supposed to be a meeting to talk about the club, but not really much of that had happened. It was only when he heard the younger girl talk from next to him did Flynn lower his wand from the dummy he had been aiming at. "You're the newbie here," he offered with a shrug, "Let's see what ideas you have." He'd had longer to think about this stuff, after all. And some throwaway ideas from previous years.

Indi sighed and tried to hid her irritation when Flynn just tossed the question back at her without even answering her. She bristled at being called a newbie too. New to the position maybe but she was only a year below him and she didn't appreciate being looked down on when they effectively had the same title. But she bit her tongue and tried to be civil. "Yeah and aren't you supposed to show me the ropes?" she countered. If he wanted to act so wise then he should back it up. But she sighed again and tried to think. She had hoped an idea would come to her over the break but nothing did. "Well we could always do practice duels. It's practical and fun enough. But a little boring and very predictable." she said, thinking out loud. "I heard one of the new professors used to be a Hit Wizard, you think he might have anything interesting to say?" she asked.

Flynn scoffed a little. "I prefer a 'learn on the job' kind of teaching method." He was not the sort of person to walk people through anything or show them the ropes, as she had so helpfully put it. If she was going to be taking over once he graduated, he wanted to at least see what she could come up with on her own without his intervention. Apparently, however, not a lot. "Isn't that basically what I did last year?" He didn't think the members would appreciate just another session of flinging spells back and forth. However, his interest was piqued at the second suggestion. "A hit wizard? Really? That could be interesting. Which Professor?" Flynn didn't really know a whole bunch about the Professors, but he was surprised he hadn't heard of one of them being a hit wizard before now.
