Blake pushed open the gate of the Quidditch pitch with one hand, his Emerald Streak in the other. He was still thinking about how he and Lily had spent Christmas, and how great it had been. He missed spending time with her when it was just the two of them, and of course Josh. Josh himself was filling in the parental role way better than Cloe had ever, and for this, Blake was extremely grateful. Though, at the same time he hated to think he was a burden on Josh...
As Blake stopped at the center of the pitch, he couldn't help but grin at the memories that came to mind. This was the very spot he and Lily had their first date, and in saying so, their first kiss. He remembered how she had out-flown him purely by skill, and how intimidated he had felt, though extremely impressed. Quidditch was the other thing besides how smart Lily was, that he really liked about her. She knew the game like it was her life, and she was good at it too. Probably better than him by milestones now that he was no longer Slytherin Quidditch Captain.
Sighing heavily at this thought, Blake let his gaze drop to his feet. There was a Slytherin vs Ravenclaw game coming up this week. Though he was glad he wouldn't have to be playing against Lily, the thought of not playing altogether did put a damper on his spirits. Trying to push these thoughts out of his mind now, Blake reminded himself that he had been the one to give up his status as captain, because of his school work, and that he should stop regretting it and feeling sorry for himself. The new co-captains were great players, and he knew they would do a great job this year.
