Closed Jumping in Joy

Abian's fifth year hadn't been a lot of fun, as he had been busy studying and trying to stay on top of his homework all semester. But today he was taking a break from it all to hang out with his girlfriend, something he hadn't done as much as he'd wanted to. He and Emily were out in the courtyard together with their skateboards, taking turns showing each other tricks. He thankfully hadn't embarrassed himself like the first time he'd talked to Emily, as it helped that he was no longer super nervous around her. It was a nice sunny day, and Abian was happy to spend it outside with the Gryffindor. He'd just watched Emily do a trick, and then looked around for something to show her. He grinned as he spotted a nearby stone bench. "Watch this." He said, rolling over to the bench before hopping off his skateboard. He climbed onto the bench, then jumped off it on top of his skateboard. He stumbled a bit, nearly falling off, but managed to regain his balance as he kicked off on the ground, his arms spread to keep it. He rolled to a stop. "Okay, I can probably do that more smoothly with some practice." He said with a grin.

Emily lived for days like this. It felt good to relax properly, just blowing off steam with her boyfriend and not worrying about any of her problems. More and more the last couple of years it had felt as though everything at school was all serious, all the time. With the OWLs approaching, there didn't seem to be any room for any kind of fun whatsoever, and the entire last year had had a dark cloud cast over it by the fight at the beginning of the year. Now though, Emily could relax, really relax and just have fun and be herself with her boyfriend. She giggled softly as she watched Abian stumble on his attempted trick, though it certainly wasn't a bad attempt. "Killing it!" She cheered and skated back, giving herself a decent runway to try and grind on the bench he had jumped from. She didn't hit it at quite the right angle, glancing off quickly, and stumbled as she tried to regain her balance. "Okay damn it, that one was weak."

Abian grinned as Emily cheered him on, turning to cheer her own in his turn. "That wasn't so bad!" He said, trying to be optimistic. "You can try again!" He added eagerly, doing a quick, simple kick flip before stepping off his board. He cupped his hands around his mouth and started chanting her name encouragingly. "Emily, Emily! Go go go!" He called, stamping his foot rhythmically.

Emily smiled warmly at Abian's encouragement, revelling for a moment at how nice it was to have such a supportive boyfriend. "Alright, I'm going!" She laughed, skating back down the courtyard to get decent momentum. She took a moment to take in the angle and try and pick her approach before she started, skating fast towards the bench. Emily was never one to hesitate, throwing herself towards the bench full force, and this time she pulled off a much better grind down its length, landing afterwards with a whoop and turning to face Abian. "Crushed it!" She beamed, approaching him for a high five.

Abian whooped excitedly as Emily tried it again. He watched her closely, and then cheered as she managed it. He jumped up and down in excitement, then bounded over to her to give her a double high five. "Totally crushed it!" He said with a grin, then leaned in to kiss her quickly. "That was awesome." He said, before turning and grabbing his own skateboard. "I wanna try it now." He said. "Do you think I can?"

Emily grinned into the kiss as Abian's lips met her own, quietly thinking that life couldn't really get better than this. Having fun with her favourite person, this was what it was all about. "Hell yeah!" She responded, clapping her hands happily and stepping back to give Abian space. "Come on, you can crush it!" Emily cheered, watching him make his own attempt at the trick.
