Jester

It was crazy but in an instant she could almost smell cinnamon everywhere. She looked at him wondering if he was the cause of it or was she suddenly just more aware of what had already been. Then all hell broke loose, not about the store but in Robin and herself. His hands were about, one sliding into her hair and bringing her face closer though it was doing a bang up job all on it's very own. At the moment their lips touched, her eyelids fluttered closed and she gave herself up to the delicious taste of his mouth. Allowing herself this moment of outrageous behaviour and unadulterated lust. The kiss was wonderful and heady and intensified with each second that passed. All thoughts of everyone else in the cafe went right out the window until the clatter of a nearby spoon caused them to break apart.

Moko tentatively touched her lips wondering at herself for behaving the way she just had, casting him a furtive glance from under long dark eyelashes she felt herself rendered speechless. Minutes seemed to drag until finally she gathered herself together and pushed herself from the seat and table.
"I ... thank you for the drink. It .. it was nice meeting you" she blushed feeling herself go hot and cold simultaneously and then she hurried to the door, yanked it open and stood outside in the fresh air allowing it to wrap itself around her.

He had greatly enjoyed the way she had reciprocated, but when they broke apart Robin knew that he had been in the wrong. In fact, he hadn't even asked if she was interested in anyone else or had a boyfriend. He'd just gone and done it. Impulse control was not one of his specialties. Robin watched her touch her lips for a brief moment and for a ridiculous moment, he wanted to do that also. Luckily impulse control could be exercised if done so consciously, and he consciously decided not to make things a hell of a lot worse. The was no crime in a kiss, but it wasn't exactly the smartest thing to do if you hadn't meant to do it in the first place. She's kissed back, but that didn't make it okay. The silence was the worst part. Actually, the worst part was Robin's urge to burst out laughing and break the tension of the moment, but he was forced to restrain himself at seeing Moko's conflicted look.

It couldn't last forever, though. Robin only managed an "Oh, you're welcome-" before Moko was up and out of the room. Well, f**k. thought Robin crassly, but he couldn't help himself. He hadn't even noticed but the smoke in his hands and the rich cinnamon smell had died as soon as it had come. There they were, having a grand old time with a joke and a laugh, and then he'd just had to go and do something like that. If he'd had the opportunity he would have apologised and explained himself. Now all he could do was hope that she didn't knock his block off if they ever met again. He could see Moko's silhouette through the greyed-out windows of the cafe. Robin hadn't the heart to move out and join her; no, she needed to be alone. So did he. "I'm sorry," he whispered into his almost-empty cup of tea. Could they still remain friends after this?
(( I hope you don't mind if I end it there, do you? ))
