Basic Appearance:
White Shirt with Leather Black Vest, Blue Pants, Black Slip on shoes, usually wears a red hat with s Smiley Face on it for no apparent reason, may don Sunglasses, or regular glasses.
Personality:
Jake is a very apathetic, and lazy person. He tends to only be active when needed to. He is also very intelligent, despite appearances. He wants to know so many things about the universe. Jake was also the "Comic Relief" character in his group of friends, always cracking a joke. He can also tend to be a big jerk, but cares deeply about his fellow man, unless he hates them. He also has a soft side for animals, and can't stand one being attacked or harmed in any way. Jake is also very lovesick, and may have many interests, but ultimately settles for one of them. So he is a pretty flirty guy, no matter how unmanly he thinks the word "Flirty" is.
Interested in:
Jake finds intelligence sexy, as well as being sexy sexy. Glasses sometimes help this matter. Also shy girls seem to catch his attention for some reason. Also someone that can take a joke is helpful. He can make acceptions but is ultimately looking for a girl like this. Even despite his fear of commitment.
Past:
Jake was a young boy in Oxford, his home town, living a normal life and stiff. When his mom was murdered in her sleep, police didn't know how. After a while strange things started happening, apparently his mom never did mention to anyone she was a wizard. Jake started looking into the subject of magic, and learned about strange things such as flying cars and mythical beasts, as well as a bunch of conspiracies. Soon enough though, his father was killed by a truck. So Jake soon had to drop his research and live with his older brother in America.
But this didn't stop him. After a while he started getting interested again, despite all of the family issues. Soon enough he started getting letters in the mail. No one knew him, he moved during the summer so he didn't go to any schools to meet anyone. But the letter included a notice about going to a exclusive school in New Zealand, with hardly any expenses needed. So Jake figured, "Eh why not." And was ready to head to New Zealand, even if he never heard of New Zealand before. Jake thought this was suspicious, but it had to do with his unknown heritage, he could feel it in his gut.
On other notes, Jake wanted to grow up to be a Mercenary after hearing about this type of job. They were still around the world, just work might be tight or something. I mean, free to go where you want, only take jobs you want, no boss to tell you what to do. It was his dream job.
He also got Muffler somewhere around when he was 10, and doesn't remember what street he lived on back at Oxford. His father was also American.

Jake is a major computer whiz, and is very light on his feet, practicing to be a "Mercenary"
Strengths:
Jake is very intelligible, and usually carries around a small notebook to jot things down in, since he isn't that memorable. He is also somewhat agile, and is very determined and hard working when he sets his mind to do something. Jake also, as said before, is tolerable to nice amounts of pain. Jake however is an exceptional leader, and thinks quick on his feet.
Weaknesses:
As said before, Jake is really lazy. So he might just say "Aw Screw it" If it isn't that important. He also isn't very memorable, that's why he carries a notebook. He also can easily be tricked by women. Dastardly women with their attractive features and their slyness. He also has a short term attention span.

I have a few questions about your character:
Well, I guess being hired by police or military would be a good example. Such as gaining information on a person is something he thought to be as awesome. And possibly even be hired for any special cases and what not. Point is, he was seeking a life of adventure, and being a mercenary would be the perfect job for the matter. Of course, if any of this stuff would actually happen in unknown. I hope your getting the jist of what I am saying.
