Lynette couldn't spend another minute of time in the castle. Everything was a blur, and people seemed to rush past her in fast forward whilst she stood still in the middle of it, and she genuinely thought she was going crazy. She gently pushed through the crowd of students at the door, getting a few annoyed looks in the process, and began to run as fast as she could. She didn't know where she was going, but she needed to be as far away as possible, and this was her chance. Out of breath and in dismay, Lynette gave up, standing still to look at her surroundings. She was standing on a large, grassy lawn, with a few other students sitting in the sunshine or trying to climb an old oak tree with the jeers of their friends egging them on to climb just a little bit higher. Lynny didn't want to watch, or hear, the result of him perching on a thin branch metres above the ground, and she began to jog along the castle wall until she found a quiet spot in the shade under a willow tree. She looked around for the water, but with none in sight, she slumped down against the tree in deafeat. Lessons hadn't even started yet, but she was finding herself out of energy just by being in such a huge, amazing place. But it was so stuffy inside, and she couldn't bear it. She'd felt trapped, unable to escape, as though the corridor walls were closing in on her and in any minute she would have been squashed between them. In reality, the walls weren't moving at all, and doors weren't locking behind her as she went through them, forcing her to keep going until she found herself locked in a dungeon with no light whatsoever.

The thoughts running through Lynette's mind were starting to scare her, when all she wanted to do was be a normal eleven year old attending Hogwarts. She felt stupid, as though she was the only one who felt the way she did about that castle, whereas she definately wasn't. It was hard for her to think straight, but finally, out in the open, where she enjoyed being the most, Lynny rested her worn-out and throbbing head against the trunk of the willow tree, the dappled light shining through the leaves but keeping her mainly cool. If she could have stayed outside forever, she would have, but obviously this was not a choice, and she knew that soon the sun would set once more, and lessons were getting closer and closer by the minute. She wasn't sure how she'd be able to stand being cooped up in a classroom for an hour, but she knew facing her fears would help her in the end.

A few students passed Lynette, but none of them noticed her. She looked small, sitting under such a huge tree, and the leaves which reached the floor made her feel as though she was in a cave, but outside, and it was a great feeling. Several first years came running through the leaves, weilding their wands as swords and chasing each other whilst screaming clean abuse at each other. Lynette jumped, but then she giggled softly when she realized what was going on. Then she sighed, looking through the gaps in the leaves at the other students who were out playing with their friends, having a good time, whilst she was all alone where nobody could find her. Suddenly, Lynette felt sad, and she looked down at the grass with a look of thoughtfulness and sadness on her face, and she pulled some grass out of the ground with a satisfying 'pluck', before scattering the blades next to her. Funny thing to be called, she thought as she ran her hand gently over the sea of green. Blades.. They weren't very sharp, she added, smiling sadly.

Why am I sad? Lynette wondered, feeling full of every emotion. Maybe it was because she was missing home, or maybe she just didn't belong at Hogwarts. Unfortunately, no matter how far she ran, she'd never escape the thing she wanted to run away from the most - Herself. Just as she thought this, another student appeared on the other side of the leaves. Lynette glanced up, and then quickly looked down at her feet again, knees against her chest and hugging them. She didn't want to be seen looking at people, they thought she was crazy enough as it was. She didn't need something else they could laugh at her about.
