Sometimes delivering these roses felt like being sent on a wild goose chase, trying to track down recipients, who half the time were also deliverers so they were hard to catch as they moved around the castle. But when she asked for Xavier, she found it odd that someone told her she could always find him outdoors somewhere in the garden looking for bugs. She didn't know if they were serious or not but she didn't think it hurt to look, it was her duty as a rose deliverer anyway. She just hoped she didn't get mud on her shoes or anything as she looked around for the boy. Once she saw someone she smiled nervously and asked, "Xavier?"

Xavier had become more of a recluse than ever, wanting nothing to do with school so he could focus on bug catching. He was well aware that in a year he would be graduating, likely leaving New Zealand for good and all the different kinds of bugs he had grown to love. Wasting the short time he had left to achieve well in classes hardly seemed worth it when he could be outside instead doing something he enjoyed. A downside of this was that he was out of touch with happenings in the school, and he had become so far out of touch that he did not realize rose deliveries were happening, an event that was once his favourite. He was in the wild patch, digging underneath a small shrub when someone approached him, asking if he was Xavier. He looked up from where he was kneeling, bringing a dirt covered hand to brush his curly hair from his face as he spoke. "Yeah?" He answered, wondering why a younger student was searching for him in the middle of the day.

Lucia couldn't help but wince when she saw how messy the boy was and even more so, how little he cared about that. She cleared her throat and flashed him a proper smile as she said, "I'm here to deliver a rose for you!" She pulled out a red rose from behind her back and waved it out for him. "It's red!" she said, rather unnecessarily, but hoped he understood the implication and would be more interested in it.
Love you brother!
