It was a nice sunny Saturday afternoon and there was no place that Lola would have rather been than outside in the beautiful weather. She'd finished her assignments so the seventh year grabbed her guitar and the journal that Daniel had given her for her birthday and headed down and out of the castle. Recently her cousin had written her to let her know that she now had yet another cousin at the school...Jordan was his name. Apparently her aunt Cystine and uncle Steven had adopted a young boy. Kat had called it empty nest syndrome they were suffering from, but seemed excited enough at the prospect of having a little brother. Lola hadn't yet met the boy, but figured when the time was right fate would throw them together. From what her cousin had told her, Jordan enjoyed music as well.

The tall brunette found a bench in the practically abandoned courtyard so she kicked off her shoes and situated herself indian style on the stone bench, placing her journal in front of her and her guitar across her lap. Strumming and humming along, the Ravenclaw simply enjoyed the nice breeze that was blowing. Close to a half an hour had passed and Lola had written and scratched through several things in the journal in front of her and had come up with what she thought was a pretty decent song. With a grin on her lips she began to strum along, playing the new song she'd just come up with.

Jordan walked along the ground floor of the school. He wasn't doing much but he did have his guitar with him looking for a place where he could practice. Hearing chords being strum in the distance he followed the noise and came upon a much older girl in the courtyard playing a song on her guitar. He grinned watching, he sat down not far from her on the ground and watched her chord progression matching it as he began to follow her along. Being young he didn't really notce if he ever interrupted others in their own personal buisness which is why he played with her. He began to take the melody of her voice and figure it out on the guitar for a guitar solo somewhere in the piece.

Once she was finished he was to excited not to talk to her. He jumped up from his place on the ground and ran up to her. "That was awesome, I'm Jordan, Jordan Vanderhol," he said in his quiet voice but it was filled with excitement; even though it took him a few seconds to remember his new last name. "You should really try a guitar solo in there, all great songs have one. Even better if you plan on keeping this an acoustic song," he said sitting down in front of her. He began to play through the solo he had created from watching her and when he was down he looked up to see what she thought.

Hearing another guitar joining in with her Lola looked up from what she was doing and grinned at the young boy who was a few yards away from her. She continued to play and realized that her new companion wasn't bad in the least, in fact taking in that he looked to be a first year he was pretty close to amazing. When she finished playing the young boy ran up to her and introduced himself. The seventh year practically beamed from ear to ear. Here she had been just thinking about him and then he appeared. "Hi Jordan. It's nice to meet you. I'm Lola Mason, but I suppose you could just call me cousin. Cystine and Steven are your new parents, no? That's my aunt and uncle," she said as she motioned for him to sit with her. The brunette wasn't sure if it was because he was younger or the fact that she was now related to this boy or the fact that she had become quite different over the course of the last year, but her nerves weren't getting the better of her at meeting this person like they used to would have.

Listening to his guitar solo she closed her eyes and swayed her head to the music. When he finished she said, "I think you're right. You're like really good. How long have you been playing?"

Sorry it took me so long to reply. It's been crazy lately for me.

Jordan looked up to her when she introduced herself. He was suprised he had a cousin here, his new parents hadn't mention the fact but Lola obviously knew about him. "Yeah, that's right. Though I didn't get a real chance to move in and meet them before I left for school," he said dissappointed that he didn't really know his new parents. Though he was glad to have a last name to put on papers instead of his first and middle names. He grinned as she said he was very good, not many of the kids at the orphange thought so. He was a big fan of the oldies; more relaxed soft music and now a days it was all about pop and techno. "Thanks. About 5 or so years. After my parents died it was one of the only things I could bring with me," he said looking down to the ground. He felt bad whenever he brought up his parents because he knew people would instantly feel sorry for him, but he didn't actually know them that well so it wasn't a big deal to him. Unlike some of the kids at the orphanage who were older then he was and knew their parents very well, he always felt bad for them and the tears they shedded when they thought everyone else was asleep.
