Closed It's Funtastic

[Caro Taylor]

As much as other school events always disappointed her, Caro found herself actually looking forward to Halloween every year. Even though she never got any recognition for them, in Caro's opinion her costumes were always incredible. She had really put effort in this year, her barbie costume designed to look perfect. Surrounded by everyone else in spooky, drab colours, Caro stuck out for miles in her vibrant pink ensemble. Lowering her sunglasses slightly so that she could actually see in the darkness of the party, Caro looked around for a moment before making her way over to the snack table. She would get something to eat, maybe take some photos for the Monthly, see if she could find anyone she knew... pouring herself a drink, Caro leaned against the snack table and surveyed the party, trying to see if she could spot anyone she recognised. Maybe tonight would actually be fun if she could find a friend to hang out with.

 

[Nixon Mercury]

In Nixon's opinion, being a photographer for Accio meant sacrificing participation in school events, so he hadn't made the effort to dress up for Halloween. Being focused on other people's costumes for the night and occupied by taking photos, he simply didn't see the point of dressing up when it could get in the way of what he was meant to be doing. Not only that, participating at all would have meant spending time with his friends and he did not have the energy for it. Being around Liam was just too much for him to handle at the moment, and forgetting about celebrating Halloween to focus on taking photos for Accio was all Nixon wanted to do. Thus he headed to the Halloween feast dressed in regular clothes with his camera hanging from his shoulder.​

As he arrived, he looked around the hall and set his mind in photographer mode, drowning out his friends before he even registered they were there, and picking out the parts of the hall he wanted to capture as well as which costumes drew attention within the crowd. One of the costumes that drew attention, at least to Nixon, was ironically the costume of one of his fellow Accio members. Nixon put on a smile as he approached Caro, and immediately brought his camera to his face to take a picture of her. When the photo was taken he returned the camera to his side and spoke to her. "Hope you don't mind the photo, your costume is just one of the cooler ones so I wanted to make sure there was a picture of it for the yearbook." Nixon hadn't been looking out for his friends, but he didn't know if he considered Caro a friend. Either way he figured her costume being one of the nicer ones justified her photo being taken and interacting with her. "Have you had a good night so far?" Nixon asked, wanting to make some sort of conversation.​
