Any excuse to dress up was always a good day for Miss Emma Alice Snow. She wore her favorite dress that she was only allowed to wear on special occasions. Considering the only thing holding it to her torso was the ribbon wrapped around it, at least there would be no accidents. The Gryffindor did not have a date, but honestly, she was not expecting one. She was only eleven! Around this time of year always made her sad because her father died around this time of year, a long time ago. He died so long ago, she didn't have a chance to meet him. Oh well, that was not going to tie her down. She approached the table and poured herself a glass of juice. She sipped it, until those light colored eyes landed on someone she knew. She dropped her half empty cup, spilling the contents on the floor as her legs moved in a fast, steady motion. With a leap, she pounced on the one that caught her attention. Arms wrapped around him in a hug, she greeted, "Theo! You are here!" She didn't care if he wasn't able to hold them up to her pounce. It wouldn't be the first time she landed on the ground because of her running, tackle hugs.

Tholomyes Fontaine had spent the first part of this ball with Madeline, with whom he had spent part of the Halloween feast but they'd parted ways at some point in the evening, and Theo had found himself standing just watching the crowd with a look of calm on his face, he had sort of hoped that he might run into Emma at this event, he'd met her at the Wild Patch club and her smile had stayed imprinted on his mind and he had been keen to see her again, just because of how easy it was to spend time with her, how good it felt, all of his negative thoughts felt pointless around her, no matter how much he felt like nothing good could come of it, but he wanted the friendship regardless of that. The Ravenclaw had been minding his own business when he became vague aware of someone running towards him in the corner of his eye, he had just enough time to realise who it was and turn slightly when she was in the air towards him and he had barely any time to preparing himself for the tackle hug. He held on to Emma as he stumbled backwards and eventually falling down due to her momentum. The boy landed on the ground and looked up at her, he wanted to be annoyed, with her, annoyed that his suit was no of course going to be dirty, but he couldn't be, "Emma," he said a little breathlessly as her weight was on his chest, "You're here too," he replied with a smile clearly happy to see her, "It's really good to see you," he hadn't even asked her to get off him so that he could stand and he could greet her hug properly. He was just so happy to see her at this magical event, his night had just gotten even better than it had been.

The pounce resulted in the two to stumble into the floor, but Emma remained on top of him, mostly on his chest. Theo seemed a little breathless, and she looked down to see why. She scrambled to where she was off of him. He said that it was good to see her and that she was here. Emma could not lose her smile, before she said, "You look good in a suit, by the way. A little wrinkled now though." She reached over to smooth it out a little bit, before she stood up to her feet. Her white dress had spots of dirt on it now, but she didn't care. Emma combed her hair through her fingers, before she gave a little courtesy. "Can we dance or did my hug damage you too much?" Emma hoped not before she held her hand out to him. She wanted to have her first dance with Theo, since he was pretty cool. She had plenty of other friends, but he was the first she ran into for the night. This was her first Yule Ball, and she was excited to experience all she could, from the food to the dancing. And so far, she had not experienced the dancing yet.

Theo's night had been great so far, but seeing Emma made his smile grow, if possible, even wider, the Ravenclaw couldn't help but not even mind that he was on the ground with her on top of him for the part that she was. When she finally got off and stood a little to the side of him he finally sat up and where he might've with any one else been annoyed at what happened to his suit he really didn't mind with her, the boy just sat up and brushed down his arms and then got to his feet, adjusting his trousers and the pocket square as he smiled at her, "You look really pretty," he said, though his voice grew quiet as he spoke and he blushed a little and at her curtesy he just responded with a bow and then took her hand. He was really glad that Maddie had taught him how to dance, so he took got into the same position as he did with Maddie, "Of course not, I would never turn down a dance. Although would you like to dance slightly less formally," he asked before he started dancing, waiting for some kind of response, unsure as to if this kind of dancing was the kind of dancing that she was looking for them to do or if something a little more normal was what she was looking for, he didn't want to get anything wrong with Emma.

Emma was glad that she did not annoy the Ravenclaw. She knew that she could be a little overwhelming at times, but it was not something that could be helped. If she could just be herself, then everything should be perfect. He said that she looked really pretty, and it was enough to make Emma smile even more. Yet, she did not blush. Instead, she agreed with him. She did look really pretty today. He bowed to her which was definitely unexpected. Emma shrugged her shoulders as she was asked what sort of dancing would she prefer. She decided that one answer would always be the right one, and it was, "Whatever suits the music!" The song was a little on the slow side, so with her hand in his, she placed one onto the shoulder, and stared up at him. "This suits the music right now, but once it gets faster, we can start really having fun with crazy moves and stuff!" As long as she didn't sing, she did not have to be embarrassed since she did not really have the talent for that. She would find her talents elsewhere. Dancing was a decent talent, thankfully.
