Dominik walked through the corridors of Beauxbatons school, on his way to the Courtyard with a book about how to breed a dragon's egg under his right arm. He developed a liking in dragons over the Christmas holiday after being given a miniature Chinese Fireball by his parents as a gift, and was curious on how to take care of one yourself if you would ever be so lucky to be in the possession of an dragon's egg. While the fourth year made his way to the Courtyard, slowly because he got distracted reading, he even bumped into a few students whilst walking. It was a rather interesting read, something he wished he would've read before he took an interest in dragons. The fourth year was so deep into the book he was reading that he didn't even notice where he was going. Eventually, after having read a whole chapter about the right temprature to hatch an egg, Dominik looked up and noticed that he was already standing in the Courtyard and about to walk against a tree. He chuckled and walked over to a bench and sat down, continuing his reading on what to feed a newborn.

Isabelle Vernier was very happy to be back at school without the distraction of younger people. She had slowly begun to get used to her new school and was feeling settled in quite nicely. Despite this, the girl still found it extremely hard to talk to anyone and hence had not made any friends who she could hang out with whenever she wanted. Isabelle did not really care much for that anyway and was just happy that she was able to have some peace and quiet when she wanted it. She sat down at a bench in the courtyard and began to write in her journal. It felt relieving to be able to write everything that had happened in her life and she was quite thankful that her father had purchased it for her prior to coming to a new school. It was almost like the friend she never had and, despite it only being a small and tattered book, it gave her comfort when she really needed it.

Isabelle quickly looked up when a boy out of the corner or her eye almost crashed into a tree. He seemed too endorsed in a book he was reading to figure out where he was going. The fourth year couldn't help but chuckle slightly at his stupidity but stopped instantly when he came to sit next to her. Isabelle panicked and then slowly moved a little bit closer to the edge, away from the idiot. It was a wonder whether or not some people even had a brain. Isabelle just kept on writing, trying not to let the presence of the boy distract her too much. Nonetheless, she still kept an eye on him in case he were to do something else out of the ordinary.

Dominik turned another page which explained the development of a newborn dragon. After six months the dragon would cough up sparks, usually accompanied by thick grey smoke and the ability to fly was normally developed much later, and that the dragon wouldn't fully mature until he was around the age of two years old. Reading everything Dominik had come to the conclusion that dragons required a lot of care and attention during their first few months after being hatched from the egg. He was about to turn yet another page of his book when he suddenly got the feeling that he was being watched so looked around if someone was indeed looking at him. He didn't have to look long before the fourteen year old noticed that he, with out knowing it himself, sat down next to the girl he had been having a crush on for the last few months. Immediately turning bright red Dominik quickly looked away from Isabelle, hoping that she hadn't seen him looking at her.

Isabelle had never been around someone so abnormal before. She had to admit though that his interest in the book was rather beguiling in a way that the girl could not explain. Not many people nowadays were that interested in reading and it was something that Isabelle had never really seen first hand before, especially when they were so interested that they could not concentrate on where they were going. The act of doing that was rather dangerous and Isabelle could only hope that he would never do it again, for his safety and for hers. As Isabelle began to draw a flower on the side of her page, she could see out of the corner of her eye the boy look up to look at her, and as she quickly looked back at him, she could see that now he had looked away and continued reading, his face as red as a tomato. Isabelle smirked as she looked at the title of the book. "Dragons." she muttered in French, wanting to say something more than that but not knowing what to say. Social situations weren't always something she enjoyed or was good at.

Dominik didn't know how to react anymore it was like as soon as he layed eyes on her his mind shut down completely and the only thing he could think of was to not make a fool of himself in front of her, so instead of talking to her, probably because he did not have the guts to do so, went back to reading about the temprature of dragon's breath and what objects could be melted by the fire coming from its large mouth. Every now and then Dominik would look out of the corner of his eye to see what she was doing and smiled slightly when noticing she was drawing a flower. The fourteen year old wanted to tell her what he thought of her and had done so multiple times over and over again in his head, even imagining the best and worst case scenarios though no matter how well it went in his head he couldn't actually speak the words out loud which was something that bothered him. As she muttered a word, mostly like something in French the boy looked up from his book again and to Isabelle with a questioning look on his face trying his best not to turn red again.
