Jingyi was honestly surprised that he hadn't come up with an idea like this one before. It had just struck him over breakfast and he instantly knew that he had to make the most of this rather genius idea. So, there he was climbing his way up the North Tower with arms filled with water balloons. He hadn't even needed to get anyone else involved with this idea, filling up the balloons with water straight from the taps in the bathroom. It may be obvious what his plan was with them now he was heading up somewhere tall, but no one had stopped him and he didn't plan on getting caught and told off, anyhow.

One he decided he was high enough and had found a good window, Jingyi stopped, setting his pile of water balloons down before peering out of the window. He was some distance off the ground now and could perfectly see people walking under the window. Now all he needed to do was wait for someone to go directly under him and then... well... they were going to get a rather 'wet' surprise.

Felix had made the trek up the tower to see if Sawyer wanted to hang out but he didn't get that far when he noticed a boy from his year standing by the window. He stopped mid-step and changed his direction to go check out what he was doing. He noticed the balloons full of water and the open window right away and his jaw dropped. "Whoa what are you doing?" he asked excitedly and joined the boy at the window. It was a bit of a dumb question since it was fairly obvious what the next step would be. But Felix stuck his head out the window to get a good look at the ground below anyways. He only lasted a few seconds before his vision started to go wonky and he took a deep breath as he pulled himself back inside.

He knew he shouldn't have expected not to bump into anyone, but still, the sudden voice did catch him a little by surprise. "Nothing!" He was rather quick to shout, hiding the water balloon he had been about to chuck out of the window behind his back. But, upon closer inspection, it didn't appear to be a Professor or a prefect, so he did relax again, arm dropping back to his side. "Wasn't going to do anything," he repeated a little calmer this time, though he had never been the best at lying. "It's just... a science experiment. Yeah. An experiment is all." It wasn't an experiment, science or otherwise, but no one else needed to know that.

Felix jumped when the other boy quickly denied what he was obviously up to. Once his heart stopped trying to beat out of his chest he let out a laugh. "Are you sure?" he asked. "It sure looks like you're up to something," he added as he pointed to the balloon for added effect. "Suuuuure." Felix said, not convinced when he said that it was all apart of an experiment. "Well what are you trying to test?" he asked skeptically. He didn't know a lot about science or how experiments worked but he was pretty sure they usually had a purpose and he couldn't see what they might be trying to find out, besides how cool it would be to drop a water balloon from the towers.

"Course I'm sure," he was still quick to respond, fingers fidgeting around the water balloon still shoved behind his back out of sight. He had wanted to at least get some balloons thrown out the window before he was caught by someone. But it seemed as though fate just wasn't kind enough for that. At least the other boy hadn't gone running off to find a Professor and wasn't trying to get him into trouble. Yet. Jingyi hesitated just a little at the question, chewing on the inside of his cheek as he thought about it. "You know... um..." Even he didn't know what experiment he was doing. It had just been a lie, but it was one he was going to try and stick to. "How long it takes water balloons to fall from a height?"

Felix gave the other boy a disbelieving look as he continued to claim he wasn’t up to something. It wasn’t like he was going to tell anyone, well except maybe Sawyer or Leo but only later to brag. If he kept denying it, it was only a matter of time before someone who actually had authority came through. He wanted to laugh as the other boy struggled to come up with a reason he was doing all this until he finally said something that was half believable. “Well, have you tried it yet?” Felix asked, wondering if he was just going to stand there all day. “What are you waiting for? I can count if you want.” he offered.

Jingyi had a feeling that the boy didn't believe him very much, feeling quite unsure as he kicked his foot against the ground. At least the boy hadn't just run off to go and find a Professor and was still sticking around. Though maybe he was just trying to get more proof before going to tattle on him. "Uh," he glanced towards the window he was standing next to for a moment before his dark eyes found the other boy, shaking his head, "Not yet." He had been waiting for someone to be walking under the window before chucking any of the balloons out of it. Just throwing them at the empty ground sounded boring. "You don't have to, you know, if you have.... other stuff to do or something."

Felix was tempted to stick his head out the window again to see if there were any people walking down there but he remembered how his vision swam last time and decided to keep his head on the inside. He peaked over the edge slightly and saw that the coast was clear from any students. The last thing he wanted to do was drop a balloon and crack someone's skull. He had done something similar back home. But that had just been from the attic window and if dad hadn’t looked up he wouldn’t have gotten that black eye. “Sorry…did you want privacy?” he asked in a stage whisper before giggling. “I can try if you won't.” Felix said before reaching for one of the balloons.

And still, the other boy was there, clearly having no intention of leaving Jingyi to his mischief alone. And it was slightly annoying, especially as he still didn't know whether he could actually trust him not to tell yet. Anyone could say they wouldn't tell a Professor. And while, yes, he did want privacy, he didn't really want to say that. That would more or less be admitting that he was up to no good. "Hey, get your own balloons," he did suddenly feel a little protective of his balloons, taking a step away from the boy. These things were not easy to come by in Hogwarts and once he had used them all he didn't have any more until he could get some during the summer.
