Chase looked up, he had heard a noise come from somewhere near him, it wasn't unheard of for a creature to try and sneak up on students and get the jump on them, none had done it very recently though. Chase moved towards the bushes and examined his surroundings, there was no sign of a student anywhere around here. But he hadn't expected it to be a student, he had been right, it was a creature.
Chase spun around, it was a Salamander, Chase sighed, he had hoped to be able to maintain a low profile and not attract any unwanted attention, but when had he ever been able to do that, aye? Chase whipped his wand out and aimed at the Salamander, "Stupefy!" he hit the Salamander squarely but it had no effect, Chase sighed and tried to think of a spell to finish it.
