Valerie Abigail Layne hated herself for choosing to attend Hogwarts New Zealand. It was not at all like home. She did not like being around so many people. She knew she should have stayed home and gotten home-schooled like her sister. Valerie was not used to sharing. At home, she had everything she could ever want, and she did not have to share any of it. She was a spoiled brat. She did not like sharing, caring, or any of the crap that her parents tried to feed here. She liked to be on her own. Her father always cursed her by saying, "You are just going to end up living a lonely life like this, Abigail." Valerie rolled her eyes and took a seat on a bench in the Courtyard. Who actually believed that. She was going to live the dream, and she was going to do anything so that she could. Nothing would be in her way. She would remove all obstacles from her course. That was how it was going to be. Her stubborn nature would not allow it to be any other way.
Valerie dropped-no-threw her book on the ground. She was homesick. She missed being at home where she did not have to put up with a bunch of people she did not know. It was throwing her over the edge. Valerie did not know how to cope with everything. She was horrible with people. She didn't care about others like she cared about herself. Val would do anything to make sure she that she made it. Others feeling and thoughts did not matter. It was like the people around her weren't even there. In this world, it was only her. Valerie grunted and pushed her bangs out of her face. She had been too lazy to put her hair up. "Laziness will turn you into a bum." her mothers voice rang in her head. The Slytherin sighed. She was gymnast for Merlin's sake! How did she even find the time to be lazy?!
