Curfew. Mylie knew all to well what it was and when the curfew was. But when one couldn't fall asleep and was left alone with thoughts so harsh that the only thing he or she could do to keep from the madness is get away, what other choice was Mylie faced with? She didn't want to stay awake and keep listening to herself all night. So a walk was certainly one of the last few things she could think of to keep her sanity alive and functioning properly. Mylie was thankful that her roommates didn't exactly question why she was never in bed when they woke up, or why she was never one of the most lively people they had come across. Some people found the need to question her attitude because she was a Hufflepuff and was supposed to be sweet. That was annoying. Not all Hufflepuffs were big softies just like not all Slytherin had sticks up their butts. There was really no other to explain it to people other than to say that they needed to learn to judge others less then they have been doing for most of their lives. It was one thing to say something about someone just based on what they act or look like, but to actually know them and their story was a whole different field. It was judging someone that made a person seem really shallow themselves, so Mylie tried to refrain from doing if she could manage. It was hard sometimes because it was natural human instinct to judge someone. Anyways, at least her roommates were understanding enough to leave her alone about it, same story with the Head of House who really just seemed to not mind Mylie being the way she was. Professor Snow was much to timid of a woman to really discourage people to be who they were. There was at least an eighty percent chance that she was going to get caught tonight too. Possibly gain a detention or just a lecture from Professor Snow. Mylie would still go out for walks though. Not even the Minister of New Zealand could make her stop that, she thought at least.

Mylie's feet carried her outside of the castle and towards that creepy looking forest in the distance. It was a little hard to see in the blackness of the night but it didn't slow her down any. Students weren't allowed in the forest to begin with so she could only imagine how much this would put her in for if she was caught out here after hours. Mylie's chocolate brown eyes gently changed to a silvery color as she began to feel at peace for a moment. Outside with fresh air and no thoughts to bother her she actually felt much better than she had before. Her eyes didn't remain that color for long though, they changed back to their normal dark brown. She was slowly getting better at keeping her ability under the control she wanted it to be. Upon entering the forest she felt a cool breeze. It was almost as if the forest was greeting her, or warning, whichever. She continued inside anyways just so she was barely inside but close enough to the edge in case something decided she'd make a pleasant meal. When the sound of crunching leaves or sticks reached the Hufflepuff's ears she froze and her eyes darkened as she peered around for the idiot who happened to ruin her quite solitude.

Kendra was not ever one to break the rules, because it was something that she was just not used to. Kendra swallowed hard, when she realized that she ended up falling asleep outside on the ground, next to a tree, after reading a book. Not just any book, but it was trying to study. Studying put her to sleep; that was what it was. Kendra hated to study, and she knew it. She packed her things and she was about to head off to the castle when the Slytherin Veela caught the figure of another going into the forest. Kendra was more like a princess right now over everything else. She inhaled and slowly exhaled, keeping the fear of the forest right now under her belt and behind her ice blue eyes as she slowly made her way there, to tell the girl that she had no business going into the forest, but the girl wasn't there yet. Kendra did not want to start out in a full on sprint, but in the Veela's mind, this was a Gryffindor. They always seemed so brave and stupid to her. She combed her blonde hair with her fingers, before she knew it, her shoes stepped on fallen leaves, crunching under her light weight. Kendra thought that it sounded more like an Expulso going off close to her, as loud as it sounded, and caught the girl's attention. This time, once she got a better look of her, she remembered that she might not be a Gryffindor, but she was no Slytherin. Kendra decided to break the silent with her high pitched voice, unwavering, hiding the fear that she had in her, "The forest is no place for children. Now, you best go back to the castle before a centaur shoots you dead." Kendra hoped that this might scare her a bit, but she took in the subtle change of eyes darkening in her mind, but then again, a few others around here had that trait about them. Kendra put her hands on her hips, trying to look like she had as much power as a Prefect, but it would not work for too long, because truth be told, Kendra was as scared of the forest as any other student.

Mylie didn't think that someone was stupid enough to go out after her. Especially someone who wasn't a Professor and wasn't a Prefect who actually had the authority to send her back. Mylie's eyes turned a deep onyx color as she turned her body around to see face-to-face with the girl who had scolded her. It took a moment, no even less than that for her to remember who that girl was. Everyone knew her older siblings. Alyssa and Theodore Snow were both Seventh Years and often talked about amongst Mylie's roommates. Theodore was the Head Boy and had quote the female population going in his name, he had a fiancée though. Or so Mylie heard. Then there was Alyssa who was known for being simply just too pretty for her own good and such. Then there was also a twin of this girls who reminded her of lettuce. Romaine Lettuce, sounds delicious right now. They were all often called the Snow Veela's. Does this mean that this one was a Snow too? "Leave me alone." Mylie told the girl as she turned and headed a little bit deeper inside. She wanted away from this girl. She was like a little princess who thought she could make everyone do what she wanted to. Mylie wasn't going to listen to her and if she threw a little hissy fit then things were going to get a little missy.

Kendra snorted when the girl had told her to leave her alone. Kendra answered to only a few, which were certain professors and Theodore and Alyssa. She would not answer to anyone that were lesser than them. She was rather picky, and she was a snotty first year that hid her true emotions under that shell. She narrowed her eyes at the girl, and she took a slight notice into the girl's eyes. Did they just change? If they had, then she did not notice it right now, and it might have been a trick of her own eyes. Kendra tapped her foot on the grass and she watched as the girl that decided to be rather stupid and go into the forest. Kendra rolled her pale blue eyes and she smirked slightly, "Good, we won't need another freak of nature in the school. Let the centaurs and werewolves have you. Go on and get killed, there are enough first years anyway." Kendra snorted slightly, and she glanced around at the trees. A soft howl of a wolf in the distance caused goosebumps to raise upon her neck and arms, as she felt the cold hand of fear run across her. What if there was something out there, watching them? Kendra turned back to the girl and she said, "Just come on out of the forest, before you get into a lot of trouble, and worse - get me in trouble. I don't even know why I am wasting my time, but still, something might be watching. Aren't you scared?" Kendra didn't even know this girl's name, and already, she seemed much too brave for her own good, or stupid one. Kendra did not know.

Mylie snorted and crossed her arms over her chest and she turned back around and approached the girl slowly and carefully. She didn't like being spoken to like that. Especially by someone who no more her equal than anyone else her age was. It was like the young girl thought she was actually better than Mylie or something. Casually flicking her hair out of her face with a toss of her head she continued to approach Kendra slowly, like a tiger heading towards it's prey. Finally she cocked her head to the side and glowered down at the Snow. Mylie may like to avoid conflict but this girl had struck her nerve and there was no hiding that she was annoyed. "And this is all coming from the overgrown chicken? You have no room to be talking when your out here too stupid!" Mylie replied calmly and almost in monotone. Though one wouldn't be able to mistake the hint of annoyance that was also floating around in her voice. Kendra had no room to make fun of or lecture anyone when she had her own faults and stupid moves. The Hufflepuff knew that this girl and her siblings weren't quite normal themselves so she figured this would shut her up. Or maybe sprout some feathers. The second one would be humorous but the first one would please Mylie more. Tonight she just wanted to be alone. Was that so much to ask for when she had really done nothing to this girl or any of the others. Why did they all find it necessary to bother her and be around her. Mylie wanted to blend in and be left alone out here. She had an awkward ability but she tried to keep it hidden. Oh did she try.

The girl continued to go on and speak to her. Mylie was very close now to just grabbing the closest branch and breaking it off to beat her with. She was already part chicken so perhaps she could be mistaken for a piñata? Her eyes returned fully to their chocolate hue before the Hufflepuff sighed under her breath. This was making her craved seasoned pineapple that was grilled over a fire. Her father used to make that treat for her when she was younger. Before everything happened to make her life so difficult. "No one ever said you had to be out here you know. But what should I be scared of? There is nothing in these woods that would really bother me." Her Hawaiian accent was long since gone and never to return. But she still had the appeal that made her look of her heritage. What did she need to be fearful of out there? She was a freak herself so there wasn't much she needed to be that fearful of.

Kendra narrowed her ice blue eyes and she heard that one insult that really got under her skin. Chicken. Kendra snapped in return, "At least this chicken will surpass every beauty contest, or maybe she would like to roast you on a stick for insulting such a being." She knew very well that she was not allowed to transform into a bird like being, and she was potentially dangerous, so maybe throwing fire or something would scare off this girl. Fear was all gone now, but it had simply been replaced with anger. Whatever this girl was, Kendra did not like and she would never like it. But she kept her eyes on her eyes. Kendra was not that frightened, but until they returned to their chocolate hue, she knew that something was up. Kendra glanced up at the woods and she shook her head. A prefect or someone or something would be around to scare them off, she knew it. But what in the hell was wrong with this girl's eyes? Kendra focused on something, a name or something so that she could refer to the Hufflepuff as. Mylie wasn't it? Kendra pointed out, "Look, Mylie, get your own house in trouble, go on ahead. But go on ahead and stay here, because werewolves stay out there. Freaks. At least I am normal, for the most part. As for you, you might as well belong in these woods." That venomous tongue was nothing short of what was to come when she was older, but as a first year at the time, she was scared and shaking inside. She turned to leave, and walk on, because Mylie sure as hell freaked her out. So did the woods, so it was a nice couple. She did not want to confront one being while being outside after curfew, and that was Professot Styx, the one that scared her most of all int his school.
