Hufflepuff Stands

Jeremy was one of the first people to enter the stands and he was pretty glad for that because it allowed him to get a good seat. The Head Boy didn't really care who won this game, though he had more friends in Hufflepuff so he was slightly siding more with them. Jeremy's sole purpose for being at the game was to scout. He knew that eventually his team would play one of these teams and he wanted to watch them fly and see who were the strong players and who were the weak players. Jeremy was pretty tense because his team would be taking to the skies tomorrow. He hoped that they would have conditions as good as today. Today was a near perfect game for quidditch. Hoping that he wouldn't be subject to abuse for being in the Hufflepuff stands, Jeremy watched as the captains headed forward to bring their lineups. He wondered if the teams would shake hands or anything. Jeremy wondered if there would be for his game. He'd gotten along well enough with Isabella when they had been teammates. He had the feeling that would all end tomorrow.

Mylie was not completely sure what made her want to watch the game today. She severely disliked most of the players on the Hufflepuff team. They were an annoying lot of people who did not seem to realize it either. Well, she disliked almost everyone. There was one person on the team she found herself conflicted with. "I do not know whether I dislike him or not." Mylie thought to herself bitterly as she sat down and stared onto the pitch. She was more or less hoping someone got smacked by a bludger. That had always been her favorite part. Particularly because she did not really like a lot of people who attended this school. There were times when Mylie considered asking her mother if she could be home schooled instead of being put through this torture day to day. There were a few Gryffindor's Mylie did not mind but it was not like she would want to be their friend either. They were at least more tolerable than the members on her own team. But Mylie remained over on her own section since it seemed stupid to be against her own team, and she technically was here only to see once person play. Whether he was aware that she was in the stands or not. Mylie hoped Hades did not notice her. He knew she was not a huge fa of Quidditch so he might think she came to see someone. Her dad was a well known Quidditch coach but she still did not like Quidditch. It was actually sort of boring.

Mylie considered getting up and leaving already. This was stupid. She did not like the sport and she most certainly did not like the players. Or Hades. Why did she come here? This was not the place for her. Mylie sighed. Her stomach was hurting. It was all his fault too.

Sapphire had a not so secret passion for Quidditch. Well Quidditch players. She even had favorites from teams in scrapbooks. She wasn't creepy about it like some girls she knew but did like drooling over them when no one was looking. She did really like the game and had wanted to play at one point but didn't think that the Keeper at the time would be worse than her. That and she liked to play music too much to risk her hands. Kate was here though and also Demi and a few others she knew. She had her yellow and black scarf on and had a Hufflepuff banner in her hands to her friends could see that she was cheering them on.

Sapphire saw another person that had gotten there early and smiled wide. She had had a good cry over him no too long ago but that had been purely her issue. It was not his fault that he didn't love her the same way she loved him. Sapphire climbed up to sit nest to Jeremy. "Come to make sure Hufflepuff makes to the next round?" She asked with a cheeky smile on her face. Sapphire was ready for the game to start even though she was going to be hoarse by the time it was over.

Jeremy listened as the lineups were announced and was surprised to see two seventh years on the bench on the Gryffindor side. It was an interesting strategy for sure. Jeremy's gaze moved as he heard his name. A grin crossed his face as he saw Sapphire. When she sat beside him, Jeremy greeted his friend. "Sure...let's go with that" he chuckled. He watched as the game got underway and remained silent for several moments. "Actually, I'm here to spy on both teams and keep my mind of the game tomorrow" he whispered to her. He knew he could trust Sapphire to keep his secret.

Sapphire put her finger to her lips and pressed them there. "Come on who am I going to tell?" She asked as a bit of a joke upon the time when she really couldn't have said anything. "Sure watching another quidditch game will take the nerves out of having another one to go to." She said with a smile. It was perfectly natural to be nervous and if she had to admit she would have felt a little weary if he hadn't been. Quidditch was a highly nerve racking game even before hand. "COME ON KATE YOU CAN BEAT HER!" Sapphire yelled when Kate had tried to cause a collision. "WHERE IS THE KEEPER? BLOCK THAT SHOT IT'S AN EASY ONE!" Sapphire roared. Sapphire had some skill as a keeper herself and knew that no shot was really easy but she wanted her house to win. Sapphire's attention came onto a player that was in Gryffendor though. A speak of red but she had seen him before at times. She was sure it was him. "Do you know the name of the that Gryffendor beater?" She asked Jeremy in a low voice.

Jeremy nodded his head, but his attention was on the game and the moves taking place. Jeremy couldn't remember the blonde Gryffindor chasers name but he remembered her from last year. She was pretty good and couldn't be underestimated. Kate Moon was pretty good too and he could tell that these two girls would be paying close attention to each other throughout the game. "His name's Rakas" Jeremy replied, still paying attention to the game. He knew the guy because they'd shared classes for a while now. The Head Boy wasn't friendly with the guy though. He watched the Gryffindors attempting to score, and then turned a curious eye onto his friend. "Why?" he asked, his attention mostly on the game and a little on his friend.

"NO ROBBIE WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING UP THERE!" Sapphire yelled after the second goal. Sapphire was nearly jumping when Kate gained position of the quaffle and attempted a goal. She put her hand on her face when the Gryffendor keeper blocked the goal. It was a good thing that Robbie and Dymi switched places because it seemed like the other Hufflepuff captain knew what he was doing. Not for the first time did Sapphire regret not going out for the team herself but there was already a keeper and an alternate on the team. She watched the red speck that was Rakas. "I don't know. I may find the courage to talk to him. You know make a new friend. She said honestly. Yes she had cried over Jeremy and him not feeling the same way for her but that did not mean that she was going to let it dictate her dating life. She could move on if she set her mind to it.

Professor Effie Snow decided to attend today's game to cheer on her house. They were all doing so well this year. She was proud of them. Effie knew it was heir year to shine. They needed a year to prove that they had what it takes to compete with the other houses, even if they weren't known as well as some were. Effie excused herself past a group of students softly before she adjusted the Hufflepuff scarf she had draped around her delicate little neck. Effie never played Quidditch when she was younger but she liked to watch it. If she had been more athletic she might have tried out. But she wasn't. She never was. Effie's talents lied in things like bracelet making and writing. There was not much more Effie succeeded at when she was in her youth. It was a little sad to admit but there wasn't much else she could do except accept the truth. Effie sat down and watched the game intently. Hufflepuff just lost the Quaffle but Effie was confident that they could get it back soon if they continued playing as well as they were playing today!
