Hufflepuff,Practice

Susie felt strangely responsible as she stood before the Hufflepuff team, broom in hand. Like a grown-up. Being made quidditch captain had softened the sting of being overlooked for prefect, but she still couldn't help but think she would have made a good one; people listened to her, looked up to her for guidance, came to her for support. She smiled, resting one foot on the heavy chest that held their practice equipment. "Hey, you all showed up," she said, sounding impressed. "We've got the whole morning to practice - cool, huh? I mean, you can leave early, if you want - but unless you're being hauled off on a stretcher, I'm gonna be judging you. Let's go!"​

 

[Nox Walden-Cade]

Nox got practice started quickly, shooting up into the sky on his broom and started looking for bludgers.

 

[Mary Paige Triss]

Mary Paige was excited she had made the team, less so because of the sport and more so because she was apart of something big. She listened to Susie and wasn’t sure how to take her instruction. But either way, she went up to the air and happened to see the snitch just hanging out beside her. Mary Paige wrapped her hand around the gold ball for a moment before letting it again. She didn’t really think it counted as a catch so early in the practice, but she was still learning all the official rules.

 

[Doyle Mooney]

Doyle was a little nervous being the only keeper now but he was excited to get up in the air for practice. He kicked off the ground a quickly took up his position in front of the hoops. He'd definitely get a good work out today with all the chasers coming his way.

 

[Sofi Ayre]

Sofi felt quietly determined to catch the snitch, she was yet to catch the snitch in a game and really hoped to win a game for Hufflepuff this year. Maybe even the trophy, especially as Hufflepuff hadn't won the Quidditch cup in a ridiculously long time. She jumped on her broom and began her search.

 

[Juniper Veritas]

Juniper was antsy, she’d tried to back out of the team because quite frankly she had not thought she’d make it. Why did she even try out? She was fully regretting that now. Getting up into air she noticed nobody else had possession of the quaffle so she swooped it for herself, starting to anxiously fly towards the hoops. She had no idea what she was doing and was scared to death someone would hit her with a bludger and she’d fall to her demise.

 

[Leena Ilves]

Leena was very proud of herself for making the team as a first year and wanted to make sure her sisters friend had no regrets over choosing her. It wouldn't be long until Leena had to play a game against her sister, so mounting her broom, she got to work on her practice. She may not have been as confident as players that had flown longer but at least she had a little experience. She flew alongside Juniper in case the older girl needed some help.

 

[Juniper Veritas]

Juniper gulped as she neared the hoops, she noticed the younger Chaser follow her and grew increasingly more nervous. Giving the first year a nervous glance Juni contemplated passing the quaflle to her but then she thought that would make her look like she was scared, which she was. Still contemplating Juniper realized she so close to the hoops it should be easy surely. Throwing the quaffle at the hoops Juniper watched in shame as it fell short, easily blocked by the Keeper… she shouldn’t have tried out.

 

[Sofi Ayre]

Sofi searched for the snitch, there wasn't much else to say.

 

[Leena Ilves]

As Juni just slightly failed to score, the first year flew past the hoops and grabbed the quaffle, trying to ignore how scary it felt to let both hands off her broom.

 

[Susie Lagowski]

Susie hovered near the hoops, looking for bludgers. She supposed she should pay attention to how the rest of the team was getting on, but she wasn't very good at dividing her attention.​

 

[Juniper Veritas]

Juniper watched as Leena took the quaffle and flew beside the girl in case she needed support, though Juni desperately wished she wouldn’t need any help from her, Juni was no good for that.

 

[Leena Ilves]

Leena debated passing to a teammate but she'd never learn to score if she didn't try too. So she tried, alas, she missed.

 

[Juniper Veritas]

Against her better judgement Juniper swooped in to get the quaffle after her fellow Chaser missed, making a lap around the pitch to get it when it was thrown back into play.

 

[Susie Lagowski]

Susie swung at a bludger, and missed.

 

[Mary Paige Triss]

Mary Paige hadn't really read up on the best method of catching the snitch so flew up to her fellow seeker. "Hi! So, do we like just stay in one spot, or is it better to roam around?" she asked @Sofi Ayre.

 

[Sofi Ayre]

Sofi had momentarily forgotten there was another seeker on the team, rather morbidly there to take over if she was to be bludgered out of a game. She smiled when she asked her what to do, Sofi did not feel qualified to share advice when they had already caught the snitch before her, but she did it anyway, "Hey, I prefer to keep roaming because the snitch could be anywhere, plus you're an easier target for the beaters if you stay in one spot." She told her sensibly.

Leena was still on Juni's tail incase she needed any help again.

 

[Juniper Veritas]

Juniper flew towards the hoops she decided to give it one more go on her own. However as the throw was blocked she decided next time she should just pass it onto the next one.

 

[Mary Paige Triss]

Mary Paige listened to Sofi's advice. It made sense once she explained it, and she gave her teammate a nod. "Thanks," she said, putting some distance between herself and the other seeker as she looked for the snitch.

 

[Susie Lagowski]

Susie hadn't seen any bludgers for a while, so she flew down the pitch in search of one.

 

[Mary Paige Triss]

Mary Paige started a loop around the pitch in hopes of seeing a glint of gold somewhere amongst the clouds.

 

[Sofi Ayre]

Sofi thought that Mary Paige must hate her now.

 

[Doyle Mooney]

Doyle was putting in the work right away but was glad he managed to block two attempts already. Part of him wondered if he should let a few through just to keep up the chaser's morale.

 

[Leena Ilves]

Leena flew in to grab the quaffle, hoping for a redemption arc. The chasers just needed to score more goals before Lilith caught the snitch in their upcoming game.
