Logan hadn't really felt like thinking up a new Halloween costume. When Hazel had been preparing hers over break, he had decided he could just wear the same old Werewolf outfit again. He hadn't thought much of at the time, but now at the party he kind of regretted it. He saw all the others in new and beautiful costumes, and felt like looked a little silly in the same one. He tried to tell himself they wouldn't really remember anyway. It wasn't like he had won anything. He had quickly grown tired of the werewolf head and carried it under his arm as he grabbed some snacks. He spotted Miles at the snack table and couldn't resist going up to him. He wasn't sure what it was about Miles Flynn, but he couldn't stop bothering him, needling him. Like poking at a sore tooth. "Hey, catch the Quidditch game?" He asked smugly, as Slytherin had won pretty decisively. Even though it still hurt that he wasn't part of the team, he wasn't above bragging about their accomplishments anyway.

Halloween at Hogwarts was a hard time for Miles. The fact there was a full moon shining above his head was one thing, the sight of it making his skin crawl and a rather strange sort of feeling stirring in his gut. He supposed he was lucky it wasn't a real full moon. And then there were the costumes, some of them a little more tasteful than others. And, if he was going to notice the distasteful ones, he was absolutely going to notice one worn boy a classmate who absolutely managed to get under his skin and annoyed him more than he probably should. "Yep," he responded simply, only briefly glancing over at Logan, not really wanting to get into an argument about quidditch right now. It didn't matter, Slytherin were still going to lose the cup. "Do you have to wear something so distasteful?" He couldn't help but bring it up. "Some people actually have to live with the condition, it's not a costume." Himself included.

Maybe part of why it was so fun to needle Miles was that Logan knew he was affecting him. He could see the other boy was annoyed, and somehow it was kind of fun. He blinked, genuinely surprised when the boy commented about his costume. Really? Logan snorted. "What? It's a perfectly normal Halloween costume." He said, confused. "You're supposed to dress up like scary creatures, and I am." He said, waving his claw in a vaguely menacing way. "You know, watch out or the werewolf will eat you." He said with a smile. "Why are you always such a buzzkill?"

"Perfectly normal for muggles who think that werewolves are just some creature out of a story, maybe," he huffed back. They didn't think the creatures were real, didn't think that there were actual people out there who had to live with the knowledge they were a monster. But Logan didn't have that excuse. None of the wizarding world did. Werewolves were real and they knew it. He couldn't help the slight roll of his eyes at the threat he was going to get eaten by a werewolf. If anything, he should be the one saying that. "I'm not being a buzzkill, I just-" know what it's like to have people think you're a monster. He sucked in a breath, shaking his head for just a moment. "It's just disrespectful. For all you know, you could be around a werewolf, and they might not like you dressing up as one."

Logan frowned, was Miles really saying only muggles could wear a werewolf costume? He shook his head. "You are being a buzzkill, dude. You do it all the time. Every time I say something or do something or apparently wear something you have something to say about it." He snapped. "Well, it's not like I'm going to be around any werewolves, so who cares?! It's just a stupid costume, lighten up a little for once." He shot back, putting the head back on. "Or are you just scared? Boo!" He said, jumping forward with his claws up.

"I do not do it all the time," he didn't really speak to Logan all that much if he could help it. The only time they really ever hung out was when Theo was around. As for not being around werewolves, Miles couldn't help the slight snort, shifting to fold his arms almost uncomfortably across his chest. "And how would you know whether you're around any werewolves? Probably wouldn't recognize one even if they were standing right next to you. It's not like they wear a sign." Maybe he was playing a dangerous game, or maybe he was just being bitter, but he couldn't help the way he snapped. After all, he was not the only werewolf at Hogwarts. He didn't look the least surprised when Logan put the mask back and made some weak attempt at scaring him. "I'm not scared. And it's not just a costume. Some people have to live with it."

Ivy was enjoying the Halloween feast. her costume wasn't really that exciting; she had thrown it together with a few clothes she had in her wardrobe. a plad shirt and some jeans. when people asked what she was, she was a Jillaroo, and when people asked what that was, she said a female jackaroo. it was surprising how few people knew what that was. maybe it was just her spending her holidays growing up in Wagga that had made it part of her vocabulary. She was just having some snacks and looking around at the costumes when annoyed voices caught her attention. One of them was Miles the new chaser in gryffindor. the other was someone she didnt know.
it didnt take long to work out what they were arguing about. the other boys costume. a werewolf. apparently miles took offence at that. she was considering letting it play out however miles was her team-mate and while she wasnt offended by the werewolf costume it was close to home for her and she could see how others might take offence. she walked up to them. and waiting for a moment jumped into the conversation. "Hey Miles, hi, sorry, i dont know your name. are you having a good halloween?" she said as her way in. "Yeah, lycanthropy is a very real condition that people have to live with for life, and it's no fun she said. standing up for her team mate she wasnt sure if her parents would find the costume funny or not. but she could see how some people could find the very poor stereotyping of something they struggle to live with as offensve.

Logan let out a laugh, shaking his head. "Yes, you do. Every time we talk you act like I'm like, stupid or something." He said. He shrugged. "I dunno, they probably wouldn't be here, would they?" Logan honestly hadn't ever put any thought into it, and as he said the words he realized that wasn't quite right. He shook his head. "I mean, I don't know. It's unlikely." He said quickly. "Okay, dude. Whatever, are you going after the vampire or the zombie next, since vampires and inferi might get offended?" He snapped. He groaned when another girl joined to give her opinion. He pulled the werewolf head off again so he could talk a little more freely. "I didn't know Gryffindor was the new goodie two shoe house now." He muttered, noticing the older girl was quite cute. He was a bit frustrated Miles made him look bad in front of her. "Whatever guys, you go ahead and pat yourselves on the back for being such good people while I go get some snacks."
