To say that Tala was nervous was an understatement. He had sweaty hands, he was fidgeting, and he couldn't keep still. He was surprised that Derrik hadn't hit him over the head to get him to stop. Tala had asked his parents if Derrik could come home with him for a while. They had gladly said yes and Derrik seemed pleased. Tala thought it was because he would be getting a lot of Russian Fudge. Though he had told his parents about Derrik, he still didn't know how they would receive him. He knows Bryan, his brother, would like Derrik. It was his Father that he was slightly worried about. Oh he accepted that he liked boys, well a specific boy, he may not like his choice. One could never tell. His Mother, on the other hand, would attack Derrik with so much hugs and love that the boy might actually end up dying. Yup. Tala was a wreck.

Tala was beyond a wreak. If there ever was a word to describe him at the moment, he would fit the word. Derrik reached over to lightly kiss Tala's cheek and slap him softly upside the head. 'Hey don't be so nervous. You'll...I mean we'll be fine." Derrik had never seen Tala like this before. He was perfectly fine around Joan. So why was it that he couldn't act that way now?

Derrik was wearing a normal set of cloths, a black t-shirt and dark blue jeans. Something he had missed doing for so long. Wearing the school cloths was almost normal. He thought just by wearing school cloths he's feel normal. Goes to show you how accustomed Derrik was to them.

Tala breathed in deeply and let it out slowly. Derrik was right, they would be fine. "I'm sorry." He said "It's not everyday I bring a guy home to meet the parents" He said grabbing on of Derriks hands in his, squeezing it lightly. These sorts of relationships were almost frowned upon in Russian society. But we are in New Zealand now. He reminded himself. He sent Derrik a smile.

"I wonder how much longer they are going to be" He wondered out loud. His parents were normally on time when picking him up at the end of a school year.

"It's okay. It would be totally normal for you to bring me to your house and be nervous just because I'm a dude." Derrik laughed. He wasn't too sure how Tala's parents would take this. His mom would seem okay with and his bother would just make Derrik feel right at home.

"Don't worry so much. They'll get here when they get here." Derrik felt Tala's grip tighten up a bit. He had gotten used to how nervous Tala would get. Then Derrik started to wonder himself.

"Um..is my hair okay? I brushed my teeth so I shouldn't worry about that. Should I have my shirt tucked in?' Now it was Derrik's turn. Apparently its true as they say, what goes around comes around.

Tala let out a small laugh. "You hair looks fine. You always brush your teeth and The shirt is fine. They have seen worse" He said meaning his brother. " He stood on his tiptoes and gave him a peck on the lips.

"Oi none of that shorty!" Tala heard someone call with a heavy Russian accent. Whipping around he spotted his mother and father. Blushing bright red he coughed a small sorry to Derrik and lead him to his parents. "Not the way I wanted to introduce you, but hey it works." He muttered to him, giving him a grin.

Derrik wished that the peck had lasted a little longer but sadly it was interrupted by a loud voice. Derrik almost blushed himself when he turned to see who it was. "Opps..." he thought to himself.
Derrik heard Tala mutter something under his cough. He smiled once he pieced together what he said. He also laughed as well to himself. Tala said that it was a weird way of an introduction but hey; they did get to meet each other right?

"Uh...hello sir, ma'am. It's nice to finally meet you. I'm Derrik." Derrik said with a bright smile. Only Merlin could foresee what would happen next.

"Oh none of that Derrik Dear." Tala's mum said coming forward, putting her hands on his shoulders, examining him. "Call us by our names. I'm Lida and he," She said kicking Tala's dad in the shin, "is Stefano" She left him go and pulled Tala to her. "Oh my little man is growing up" Tala blushed "You are nearly as tall as I am now" She said lovelingly. Tala rolled his eyes and looked at Derrik. "Don't you laugh" He mouthed at him.

"If that's alright with you sure." Tala's mom greeted the two of them. It seemed as though Stefano wasn't happy about the whole idea. It seemed as if he was holding a grudge or something. Not dwelling on that matter, Derrik turned to Tala who was being attacked by his mom's hugs. He couldn't help but laugh at Tala after he had just said not to laugh.

"Tala I'm sorry. Guess this means I have a new title for you." Derrik grinned. "Mum does the same thing to me every now and then so it's no big deal." Derrik smirked.

Tala pouted at Derrik as his mum finally let him go. She spoke to his dad, in Russian, to which he replied. She smiled at that and turned to the boys. "This way dears. Stefano will get your trunks" She said leading them to the car, Tala's dad trailing behind with a frown on his face, trunks in hand. "Don't worry about your Dad Tala. He's been having a rough time of late, you know, with work and all that." She gave Derrik a cheerful smile. "Tell me Derrik, What is Tala like at school?"

Lida escorted the boys to the car. She asked how Tala was like at school. This was the perfect moment to be playful.
"Oh my. He is just an animal. He never knows when to quite. Always causing trouble in classes and getting into little fights with me. He can pay attention in classes but the second he sees me its probably about the worst thing ever. Not only that, he makes fun of me and everything. He's so hurtful sometimes." Derrik smiled. His eyes spoke the truth to Tala, "Hey you I'm joking. And yes you can get back at me for this. I'm just curious to see how you're mother reacts."

"Tala have you no shame! Acting like your brother to your boyfriend. How he puts up with that I don't know" She said abolishing Tala. "Now Derrik, he certainly won't be doing that at home." Tala threw Derrik a look that said it all: Tickle attack lasting for 10 minutes. "Of course I won't Mama. You know I'd never miss behave at home, unless Bryan is there" He said as they reached the car. Tala opened the door for Derrik. "Ladies first" He told him under his breath.

Derrik laughed on the inside so hard. He didn't think that he mother would take it so seriously. He was hoping to see that he was just joking. As Tala opened the door he muttered under his breath.
"Well then, doesn't that mean that I should be holding the door for you?" Derrik said as he walked passed Tala, softly tickled under his chin and entered the car. Derrik knew very well that later he would be in the worst situation ever imaginable.

Derrik began to wonder what the house looked like. Maybe he could keep it in mind for mum since she was still looking around.

"Just you wait Derrik" He threatened as he slide in next to Derrik. "You know we have an hour and a half drive until we get to my place" He said, grasping Derriks hand, entwining their fingers. He didn't notice his mother looking in the rear-view mirror at then, a happy smile on her face. Once Stefano had their trunks in the boot, and was settled in the car, They were off.

"Oh boy. I can't wait. And a long journey of fun it will be." Derrik said under his breath as he leaned in closer so only Tala could hear him. Derrik leaned away from Tala so he wouldn't get any bad looks from Stefano. He didn't want to get on the wrong foot with him. As Derrik couldn't tell, Stefano wasnt the type of person you wanted to get mad.

"Lida, if you don't mind me asking what is your home like? My mum is looking around and she still hasn't decided yet."

Tala pulled Derrik near him after he felt him move away "Don't mind my dad Derrik. My brother would be doing so much more with his boyfriend, trust me. And Dad is a big softie. He's just not good with new People" He kissed his cheek and let his head fall onto Derriks shoulder. He was tired. So he just listened to his mother talking to Derrik.

"Well. It's modernish. We are doing it up. It's sort of two-storied, there is only one room on the second floor, that is the Dining room. It has three bedrooms. You'll be rooming with Tala, of course. There is a separate toilet and bathroom, a lounge, of course the kitchen, which we have just finished doing up and the office, that is where Stefano is most of the time. We also have a large backyard, where I'm sure, if the weather is fine, you'll be spending a time in."

"Well that's good to know then." Derrik spoke back. He let Tala lay on his shoulder while he spoke with Lida.
"Sounds really nice. I can't wait to see everything." Derrik kind of laughed when he heard that he'd be rooming with Tala. There is no way that the two of them would be able to sleep at all this break. Derrik would be keeping Tala up for the littlest reasons. Derrik rubbed the top of Tala's hand with his thumb as he continued to talk to Lida.
"The area isn't too noisy is it? Mum likes some peace and quiet which is actually scary to me."

Tala smiled. Derrik, he thought, was trying to get his mum to move closer to him. How sweet of him. He snuggled closer to Derrik. Giving his dad a smile through the rear-view mirror and it widened when he got a small one in return. Dad approved.

"It's not too busy. Sure cars pass regularly. But there are quiet places in our area."
Lida smiled "I'd love to meet your mother one day, What does she do? if you don't mind me asking. I'm sure Tala has told me, but I'm afraid I can't seem to remember"

Derrik had noticed that Tala smiled and in the review mirror so did his father. "I guess this means that I'm good." he thought to himself.
"Sounds very good. My mum works as a nurse at the school. Although I'm not sure if she'll stay there forever. It's odd though. Back at home she hated going to the doctors and all. She would rather have me take care of her instead. But somehow she figured that if she can't help herself she could help others. Odd how that turned out really."

Derrik felt comfortable himself. But maybe just a little too comfortable."Maybe I can arrange something with my mum about it. I'm sure she'd be happy to meet you both.' Some how Derrik was paying attention but in a second, everything faded to black. Derrik had been so energetic about the whole break. He must have blown off too much energy. But he was comfortable and didn't care.

Stefano glanced into the back and saw the two kids almost asleep. He also glanced at his wife, who was looking a bit ill. "Are you alright?" He asked as he put his eyes back on the road. "I'm fine dear" She said in voice that stopped all comments about it. "I'll be fine" She patted his arm gently and turned to watch the road. Tala heard this and frowned slightly. Was something wrong with his mother? He knew if Derrik heard, he wouldn't understand, for they spoke in Russian. I'm sure she is fine, just under the weather from the winter months.

Derrik wasn't too sure how long he had been out. His eyes opened slowly as he began to groaned a bit. The light was a little too much for him to handle at the moment. He closed his eyes and leaned inwards towards Tala to shield himself.

"Too bight..." he whispered. Derrik was sure that Tala would laugh at him. When Derrik woke up from his sleeps, sometimes it would take forever him to awake.
"Are we there yet?" he whispered once more wanting to look into the eyes of his boy but was too lazy and sleep to do so.

Tala laughed softly. He had been awake for about 15 minutes. "Nearly, a few more minutes, We are just driving past the hospital now and that is not far from my home" He turned his head and kissed Derrik softly on the mouth. "I think you are part vampire" He said. "you hate the light."

"Hm...I see. Well you're type of light is different and if I am part vampire..." Derrik smiled as he was kissed. He leaned in towards Tala's neck.
"...then I think I have full rights to bite you." he said under his breath as softly bit Tala's neck hoping to get a little sequel from him. It would be quiet entertaining if he managed to get one out of Tala. Derrik was sure that Lida and Stefano would have no idea where it came from but would come to conclusions.

At the same moment Derrik nipped his neck, he lightly pinched Derriks thigh. He let out a small squeak, but he hoped that Derrik let one out too.

"Boys, Stop playing around"
Lida sounded from the front "We are home" She said as they pulled down a drive way. The house was a soft dutch white in colour with dark green for the windowsills and a Grey slanted roof. There were two drive ways and they had pulled into the longest one, that led to the back of the house.

As Tala let out one of his cute squeaks, he pinched Derrik's thigh forcing him to let out a little squeak of his own. But it was only loud enough for Tala to hear.
Lida nagged the boys to stop horsing around as they approached the house. Derrik slowly moved away from Tala to let out a yawn. They pulled into the longer driveway that lead to the back of the house.
"Tala started it." Derrik complained in a child-like voice. A smiled cracked upon Derrik's face. He loved to pick on Tala so much. Its not as though it seemed like he had power over Tala, he just enjoyed to see him squirm from time to time. His little fits were always the cutest.

Tala pouted as he got out of the car. He held the door open for Derrik to get out. His mum went to unlock the back door as his dad heaved the trunks out of the boot. "God boys, these things weigh a tonne. Did you bring back some of the castle back with you or something?" He said closing the boot. He looked much more relaxed now he was at home.
