History: Hinemoa is the daughter of Professor Kahurangi Josephs, born through use of an anonymous donor, and as a result spent a lot of her infancy & toddler years exploring the Ravenclaw tower. Being raised by an educator in that environment gave her a real passion for learning, and she spent a lot of her childhood with her nose in a book absorbing whatever she could get her hands on. That passion served her well when she was old enough for Kura Kaupapa (Māori immersion schooling) and she quickly became top of her class, though she didn't always stick diligently to all the school rules and struggled to connect with subjects she found less interesting. She also began engaging in athletics around that time, dedicating a lot of time and energy to rugby and kapa haka. Her favourite thing to do though has always been playing with her best friend, Amanita Castillo. They grew up very close due to their parents working together, and Hinemoa often winds up in an advisor role due to Amanita's tendency to take the lead. She's never happier than when she's playing pretend and making up imaginary worlds with her best friend.
