Flynn was still feeling a little dazed about everything. Today was the day. Today was the day he was officially being adopted. Everything was packed and his room cleared out, the small amount of things he owned outside school supplies shoved into his trunk, jet the raven sat in his cage cawing every so often as if to remind people he was still there. His heart was hammering in his chest as he sat awkwardly in the main hall of the orphanage, wringing his hands as he glanced towards the door every so often. Siobhan was supposed to be there any moment to take him away from this place. To take him home. Now that was a word he never really thought he would get to use again, he didn't have a home for five years, just stuck in different orphanages and foster homes which never wanted him there. But now he would finally get a home, a place he could live happily and grow up without ever having to worry about being shoved into the care of someone else who didn't want him there.

@Siobhan McGowan

Siobhan had been up all night. Even after she had cleaned the house and gotten Flynn's room ready, it didn't seem enough, and she had downed loads of coffee and coerced Fin to rearrange their entire living room, as it just didn't feel right. After reassurance she'd done enough, Siobhan had put on a basic pair of slacks with a button down and pulled her hair back. She wasn't one to really dress up, and she wanted to make sure that Flynn felt at home, comfortable.

As she was let into the orphange, she saw Flynn with his belongings and gave him a smile. "You ready to go?" she asked with a gentle smile, offering to take his trunk to the car Fin had been gracious enough to loan for the day. While she normally didn't take muggle modes of transportation, this seemed like the easiest with the orphanage, and it was only about a 20 minute drive from her home. Their home.

For a little while, he had been worried that maybe Siobhan wasn't going to actually going to show up to come to pick him up. Maybe she had decided that it was all a bad idea and she didn't actually want to adopt him anymore. But when she finally walked through the door, Flynn couldn't help the big breath of relief he released as he managed to shaky smile. This was actually happening, wasn't it? He was getting out of this place. He was getting a family again. "Oh, um, yeah," he managed to get out, nodding his head slightly as he stood up, reaching out to pick up Jet's cage off his trunk. He certainly wasn't going to turn down the offer for her to carry his trunk. That thing was heavy and it was hard enough with two hands, let alone just one because he was busy carry his raven.

Siobhan could see that she wasn't the only one rightly nervous and felt a little bit of relief in the matter. As she dragged the trunk through the doorway, the former Gryffindor gave the staff a wave, feeling relieved she'd never had to enter the place again and hoped Flynn felt the same. Seeing that there weren't any muggles on the street at the moment, she closed the door once Flynn was through and quickly sent the trunk to the boot of her vehicle with her wand. "Magic's so wonderful," she sighed, giving a wink at Flynn as she walked towards the car, holding the door open for the boy and his avian friend to enter. As she rounded the other side, she quickly took her seat, making sure everyone was properly secured. "Does your bird travel well?" she asked curiously, wondering if it made a fuss on the train to Hogwarts.

Even as they headed out the door, Flynn still couldn't believe this was happening. And he was quite sure nobody was expecting this to last very long. One of the other boys had even told him as much and reckoned he would be back within a couple of weeks. Though that was not something he wanted to believe in. He couldn't go back to the orphanage, back to being alone, not now he was being given this chance of a new life. A proper fresh start. "Wish I could use it out of school," he couldn't help but huff a little as he watched Siobhan easily get the heavy trunk in the car with a wave of her wand. But he couldn't, he was just going to have to wait until he was older. And then the question about Jet. "Oh, I mean... I guess he does. He's never made much of a fuss on the train or anything." No more than usual, anyhow.

Siobhan gave Flynn a smile and recalled how freeing it felt to finally use magic whenever she wanted. She understood the rules not allowing magic during their breaks, but at the same time, her childhood may have been a bit more fun. "Well, that's good. We have an owl but no other pets at the moment. Although, that could always change," she quickly added, wondering if that was something Flynn had had before. As Siobhan started the car, she took the road, feeling a little awkward but figuring she should be the one to break the ice in the situation. "So, I don't know if you're hungry, but we have lots of snacks. And your room is all set up with the basics. We can always change things up and add more to it, but you have a bed, dresser, closet, and Fin asked some of her muggle gamer friends what teenage boys like. So there's some books, comics, and games in case that's up your alley. But again, you don't have to use anything you don't want to." She took a deep breath and glanced at Flynn before turning her direction back towards the road, taking a hard left onto a more rural road.
