Here to Help

Even before the staff meeting Maria had been trying to think of ways to encourage students to come see her of their own free will, before their situations reached points where they had to be referred by a teacher. It was difficult to find ways to raise her profile in such a large, busy school, but Maria had made up a few simple posters with a few example situations that students could seek help with, and set out to put them up around the school. She had already put a few around the library, near her office, and recruited a couple of helpful students to set them in the common rooms, but there were a few more areas of the school she wanted to make sure to visit, the first stop around the corner in the student lounge. Maria still had a few more posters in her arms as she pinned one up on the lounge bulletin board, stepping back to make sure it was even. She hoped the visibility would encourage students not to feel any embarrassment in approaching her on their own for help.

Irene was doing her usual walking exercise for that day from the library to the student lounge,maybe pop in to check on some students and continued on to the Great Hall for some snacks before going back to the library. She was slowly ambling along the corridors and was just about to reach the lounge when she saw Maria Madison enter the same place while carrying a few posters. The librarian paused to observe the young woman post one before approaching her. "Maria, hello. How are things?", she greeted as she checked out the poster. "This is great. You did a good job with this.", she complimented the woman, her hand rubbing her bump.
