He had not really made any friends, for the simple fact that he and Drake were practically stuck together at the hip. It was really weird, it was like Drake was trying to turn him into Justin. It wasn't going to work, because Daniel and Justin had next to nothing in common, except that they shared blood because they were related, otherwise, Daniel didn't find any common ground with the Slytherin. Drake wasn't much better, but he was at least remotely tolerable, except he seemed to be heading in a dark place these days, but Danny tried to ignore it. The move of country was hard on the Fourth year, he liked Hogwtrts New Zealand a lot, and now he was here, in France, in Beauxbatons, having to start again. It didn't seem fair at all that he and his family moved, while the peoe he relied on and loved dearly were back in New Zealand. For the first time in his life, he felt a little spiteful of the fact that he was stuck here, having to learn a new language and make new friends. He had met a few people, mostly girls, but he didn't mind, as long as they could keep up with his excitable personality and not hd it against him like so many others, he didn't mind at all. Daniel sighed slightly and ran his hands through his brown hair, overlooking the lake with his mouth curved into a small smile. It was a week into the holidays, and instead of going home, like his cousin had ultimately decided to do, Dan decided that it would be in his best interest to stay here, try and fully pick up the language and hang out with the small group of people he called friends.

Daniel's friends were not exactly the best behaved, in fact, they were probably a bad influence on the boy, but it wasn't like he wasn't an equally bad influence on them, and hey, he kept his grades up, his parents didn't even know about his skipping classes and interrupting inmortant lessons just so he could have some fun with his friends. Pheobe had to be one of the people he was closest to, Declan following very closely, then Mere and Alana. But of course Drake was right up there, but he was family, so he held a special place in Daniel's heart. After all, you can't hate family, you can try to, but in the end, it never works. Standing up quickly, Daniel got the sudden urge to have a run around, on a broom of course. He hadn't flown for ages, except when he had stayed out that one time. "Accio broom.'' He commanded, pulling out his wand and smirking as the broom came to him. What made him feel better was that it wasn't half a million brooms that came after him, otherwise that would have been awkward. He jumped onto the broom and took a short fly around the grounds, feeling the wind in his hair. He was being very ccareful, because even though he was getting better, and had the best teacher on planet Earth, Phoebe, he still wasn't a pro, and didn't have a death wish either. After about half an hour, the ex Hufflepuff flew to the ground and llanded, a little unsteadily, but he managed to not fall over, unlike last time. Returning to his original position, by the lake, he put the broom carefully on the ground and sat down, proping himself uo on his elbows and watching the sun meet the lake in front of him. So beautiful.
