The only good thing about Hogwarts to Lilyanna were the classes, as long as they involved as much note taking as possible. She wanted a good career ahead of her and was not going to waste her time at Hogwarts socialising with people when she could be in the library or her common room getting that extra amount of studying in. When classes started each week she was very excited to attend many of the lectures her professors were to give out. It was vital that she managed to get as much as she could out of it as she made her way over to the Herbology Greenhouses for her second lesson of the year. She knew that Herbology was probably not going to be her favourite subject this year but she was still determined to get a good mark in it, even if the professor made her do things that she didn't want to.
Lilyanna sat right at the front of the room as the professor started explaining to them what they would be doing for that lesson. To the Slytherin's dismay, they were going to be handling mandrakes already and it was only their second week back at school. It frustrated Lilyanna that the professor wanted them to have a pet throughout their whole second year. It was bad enough that Lilyanna had her cat Felix to look after let alone an ugly mandrake that was stupid and couldn't fend for itself half the time. Reluctantly, Lilyanna put her Dragonhide gloves on and placed her earmuffs securely over her ears as she watched in disgust as the professor began to repot her mandrake. Lilyanna couldn't hear much but it was quite obvious how loud the stupid creature was screaming, especially with the horrible look all over its face as the professor patted the soil around the mandrake after placing it in its new pot. Without any second thoughts, Lilyanna definitely knew that this year was going to be horrible.
When it was the second year's turn to start repotting, Lilyanna already had to urge to strangle her mandrake that she was given before even touching it. She had to name the thing which she thought was slightly frustrating considering the fact that, just by looking at it, it did not deserve a name. She left that part for later though and was just concentrating on getting the repotting done so she could head back into the castle safe and sound. The second year tried to look away as she grabbed a hold of the leaves and roughly pulled the mandrake upwards, trying to get it out of the pot. It began to cry and Lilyanna cursed at it, trying her best not to hit it out of frustration. "Shut up you stupid thing!" she shouted in its face right before it kicked her squarely in the nose. "Ouch!" She dropped the mandrake back into its original pot and stepped away from it, holding her hand over her nose. "Professor, this mandrake is misbehaving! Can I get another one?"
