Negative energy was boiling up inside a particular fifth year's body. It was simply made up of pure irritation that was accompanied by a small amount of tiredness. Despite this, Kiefer Harris was able to manage studying in the late hours of the night, without getting much eyebags. Last night, he stayed up to almost one o'clock in the morning, just to finish reading some uninteresting chapter for Potions. He did not fully understand it yet, but he was determined to finish it later evening once more. It was only after lunch that he decided to head to the library of Durmstrang Institute, after consuming a lunch filled with steak and some potatoes. Even though puberty was kicking in, Kiefer was still a regular eater. Also, his height was rapidly changing almost every week. He still was eye leveled to some girls out there, but most of the time, he would be an inch taller or so. The hormones were also building up and this distracted Kiefer greatly. But Kiefer did not particularly pay attention to the height he had. The important thing was his build, which he tried to maintain throughout his fifteen years of life. Kiefer held his bag to him closely, slowly walking to the library, ocassionally stopping to greet some of his friends in the castle. It was such a pain to study with good distractions surrounding you. Regardless, Kiefer wanted to submit his work before the professor counted it as some rubbish a student would give them.

The huge oak doors of the library groaned as Kiefer pushed through it. It was never often that he stayed in the library, but he needed the silence to complete this one easy task. The boy ran a hand through his hair, as he briefly smiled at the librarian to show some courtesy. There were two of them, but only one looked back at him with a stern glance. Kiefer silently walked, almost two sections away from the main entrance of the library. After almost a minute of staring and walking, he reached the part of the library where books filled with muggle information can be found. The fifth year heavily dropped his bag onto a desk that had two seats and enough space for almost five books. It was spacious enough and Kiefer was satisfied with the table he chose. The boy grunted as the weight of parchment and quill fell from his shoulder and steadily walked to the shelf. He ran a hand through the spines of it, careful with what book to choose. He eventually arrived to the end of the shelf, where he ended up snatching two books about muggle actors and actresses who won awards. He frowned in concentration and walked his way to the table that his bag was on. Kiefer dropped both books on the table, knowing that it made a loud thud. Not much people was in this part of the library since most were studying in the dark arts section. The blonde boy sighed and sat down before getting out his quill and parchment. He needed a two page essay about some multi award winning actor or actress, with a short history of them included.

Quincy Ashe Cavell just left her Potions class, there was nothing particularly interesting during their lesson. This made the blonde bored, there was no reason to return to her dorm this early too. "Might as well visit the library." she sighed as she walked along the corridors. As she did, different student were staring at her as she walked in her high heel boots. Ashe never wanted to wear such ragged boots, this made her look like a boy rather than a lady. Also it was a her birthday present for herself last year, she never really fancied their uniform. It looks so blunt and dull, red and black were two brilliant colors but with the long socks and high boots, Ashe just didn't get it. Also almost every single student here likes to wear short skirt just for the fun it, since no professor seems to mind. Ashe eventually reached the library, hoping to find a good book to read, maybe a book about Dark Arts, her favorite. Soon as she entered, Ashe noticed that there weren't much student inside the place. Other than the library, it was her and the books. She took a turn on the east side to browse on some Dark Arts books. It was rather refreshing to read new insights about Dark Magic and the like, back in Hogwarts they weren't even allowed to read such things.

Taking two to three books, Ashe returned to the chairs to take a sit. That was until she saw a boy near her age sitting alone, he looks very familiar. Blonde hair and a bit build, it only took her a few seconds to recognized the stranger. Kiefer Harris, the boy she met days ago inside a muggle cafe. The one she entertained for a couple for minutes and for some reason she found him interesting. The young blonde smirked as she decided to approach the boy, hopefully it would surprise him. With her books along her, Ashe glanced to the librarian who seems busy, also the library was seemingly abandoned for now. Slowly she walked near him, her heels making a sound that no one can ignore. By now she was a few inches away from Kiefer, she trailed her fingers to his shoulders wondering what book is he reading. "Can I be of any assistance?" she teased him, as her fingers still fixed on his shoulder. Ashe somehow grew a pinch of interest towards the boy, the kind of interest that makes him special. Since she doesn't really talks to anyone, nor does she have a group of friends. Mostly there were people who wanted to be her or to be with her, but they never had the chance to actually get to know the girl. The part-veela wondered if this day would get any better, hopefully it will with the help of Kiefer Harris.

No idea really came into Kiefer's mind. He thought of writing about a man named George Clooney but the book lacked information about him. He scowled at the sudden discovery and shut the book. It made a loud sound as the two sides met and Kiefer got the other book instead. The pictures were not moving and the smiles of the old actors and actresses were giving Kiefer the chills. It was odd to see a picture staring down at you, unlike any ordinary image that will walk and talk to the other people in the picture. He sighed with exaggeration and tapped his quill lazily against the sheet of parchment.

A soft soothing voice interrupted Kiefer's thoughts of exploding snaps. Despite his age, the game exploding snaps was still as fun as ever. Kiefer tensed by reaction but felt the soft fingers trail against the cloth of his shirt on his shoulder area. He relaxed as it was just a girl and looked at her slowly, his silver eyes boring into her face for almost three seconds. His initial thought was that she was gorgeous and her eyes held intensity. Her features were sharply angled and he was drawn to it. Before Kiefer could say anything, he smiled genuinely at her. He was probably going to let his flirtatious guard down and let her help him. Kiefer was not the dumbest nor was he the nerd of the school. He was an average guy, who had no idea about the so-called celebrities. "Ashe Cavell. Hey." It was a lame greeting, but Kiefer did not really mind. It was sometimes his stupidity that made him charming and not his flirtatious side. He wondered if ever flirting with her would entertain him, but completing the essay was his priority and he hoped that Ashe wouldn't distract him as much. "If you know stuff about muggle actors, then perhaps I'll need your assistance." He put pressure on last word and resumed the tapping on his quill, whilst looking at Ashe for her response.

I changed some stuff in my first post, second paragraph. :r

There was something wrong, Ashe had no idea what is she doing. The usual her wouldn't be with a guy right now, she'll rather review her notes over and over until she memorizes every words. And yet here she is touching the shoulder of a guy she barely even knew, deep inside she was looking for more. Hearing Kiefer's tone seems to disappoint Ashe, it wasn't like the first time she met him that he was almost drooling over her. With his answer Ashe expected to tame herself for the meantime, unless he makes him move to entertain her. There was nothing much to do anyway so Ashe insisted to stay, she approached the chair positioned in front of him and sat down. Her legs crossed, knowing she'll be a showing a little skin. Which she doesn't mind since her skirt was indeed a bit shorter than the usual length of the other students in Durmstrang. Besides it wasn't like Kiefer would even stare at her legs, and the fact that her undies weren't that visible for anyone to see as well.

"It just so happens that I do and I'll try to." Ashe said to him, but this time less the anticipation in her words. Less the excitement she had a few minutes ago, he was definitely not a charmer. Since her brother would let any situation pass, deep inside she sighed a bit. Ashe leaned on the table, waiting for Kiefer to talk, her hands placed in front of her. As he piercing blue eyes kept it's gaze on him then to the books next to him, it looks like he isn't that smart of a boy to be worrying with school work. It was new to Ashe, since she never had a problem with her studies, so does her brother. It was a matter of concentration and gift, also their parents were geniuses as well. Though Ashe understands that not all of the students here were gifted and that smart like her and the rest of the nerds lurking. "You seem a bit tensed." she couldn't help blather the words out of her mouth, that he looks different today. It just surprises her a bit, Ashe then leaned a little closer but not that close too keep him distracted, she bent her arms and leaned her head into her palms.

Just seeing Ashe Cavell made Kiefer's insides squirm. She was different and too beautiful for such a young lady. Her personality was no different though but Kiefer would admit that he met more girls who were at ease most of the time. But in a way, Kiefer liked her because she was different. He figured that it would be a challenge for her to be his friend and he mentally grinned at the luck he had. With him not knowing it, he released a sigh of relief when the blonde sat across him, seeing that she would help him. His shoulders sagged and he paused the tapping of his quill. Her reply though was something that he expected; it was soft and the previous coy manner of her tone vanished. He just stared at her for a whilst, a bit confused on why she was so lovely to look at. It never really occurred to him that others had magical races. He was aware of this though, but he never really thought that perhaps Ashe was really something different from him. Either that or her genes were just as good as a model's. He looked away from her after the brief staring and pushed the parchment away from him, a few inches from its last position.

Kiefer twirled the quill between his fingers and spoke, carefully choosing his words. He did not want to sound like an idiot who needed some help, but it was funny to know that he was not much of a brainy person. "I need to do this extra credit thing. Just a two page essay about some muggle celebrity who won many awards and a small background about them. Do you know any? I don't care who it is, I just want to finish this blasted task." He spoke with annoyance regarding that small extra credit work that he should accomplish. It was either that or, a low grade for some subject that he disliked highly. He did not want to speak of that rather short meeting he had with his professor. A part of him though was pleased that he had good company to help him out. And not just any company but one that was good looking. Kiefer liked her in such a way that he wanted friendship for both of them. Not a kiss or some drunk one night stand. He looked up at the sound of her voice and shrugged. If she truthfully said it, Kiefer somehow felt that his hair made him look like he had spent the whole day studying when he just got in the library almost thirty minutes ago.

Kiefer looked at the closest book with distaste. He never fancied reading books. They were boring and without any pictures, the wheels of his imagination were frozen. It wasn't just any book, but it contained information about celebrities back from the 1980s up to now. "These books are... uninteresting. And they contain nonsense." He said stupidly, not exactly realizing that his tone was like a little boy's. It was different on how Kiefer would act without having any studies and books in front of his nose. His childish and whiny side always came out when he had tonnes of schoolwork to accomplish. He ran a hand through his hair for like the millionth time in only a matter of thirty minutes, thinking of another topic to converse about. "What's the weather outside?" He wanted to know what it was like, after almost spending two hours inside the castle. He wanted out, and he preferred to just talk about anything not related to school. He shifted his position on the chair, still leaning back on the backrest.

Ashe pursed her lips, wondering if it was worth the time to sit down here. If only she had a reply from her brother, she messaged him last week and haven't got a response yet. This made her a bit irritable with him, knowing he didn't bother to check up on her. She then looked at Kiefer who seems to be having a hard time with his homework or whatever it is. There was no doubt he isn't a nerd or a geek like the other students, he must have been too reckless to be doing such homework in this time. Since it was unlikely of her to bring her homework back to the dorms, she usually would just finish it the moment it was given. Still she didn't want to offend him anyway, in which she just shrugged of her thought and smiled at him. Trying to ease the tension between the two, this was really unlikely of her. Ashe changed her position, overlapping her other leg to the other. "Well that's easy." she couldn't help blurt it out, since there was nothing wrong about saying the truth. "I know a lot...but what's in it me for if I help you?" asked Ashe in a seductive voice though she wasn't really flirting with him or is she? She looked at him, her eyes gleaming.

Wondering on how will he react and Kiefer would actually do something for her. It was also obvious that he isn't fond of books, in which Ashe just kept her gaze stuck at him. Typical boys would try to convince her that their smart and witty, they'll try to make a good impress and shower her with compliment. On the other hand Kiefer was here trying to somewhat irritate her, but she decided to ignore that thought. Also he would just stare at her like he's saw a model or something. So other than turning her mood into something negative in front of him, Ashe wanted to be a distraction. A very nice distraction, she leaned forward gazing deep in his eyes then smirk, actually teasing her. Then returned to her seat, her arms crossed. Ashe couldn't help but to laugh, hearing his question. Is he really asking about the weather? It sounded quite pathetic, that the part-veela laughed some more, in a graceful way of course. "Guys, I've met wouldn't actually ask about the weather..you know." Ashe said trying to control her lips from laughing. "I don't really care about the weather, nor do I intend on elaborating why." she replied leaning her head above her hand, staring at Kiefer while smiling brightly.

<COLOR color="#000"> Her company pleased Kiefer in a way that he actually wanted to just spend his time in the library with Ashe. She was the type that gave him a challenge to befriend someone which, in particular, was her. He did not intend to make any special relationships with anyone yet and he thought that fifteen was an age of having foolish adventures in parties and with some girls. Flirting as what they called it. His silver eyes watched as a small smile graced Ashe's lips, making her look even prettier. She looked natural when she smiled instead of keeping that hard demeanor she carried around whenever Kiefer saw her. He liked girls that were just natural in front of him, whatever their personality was. A small part of him had a feeling that the blonde really had a cold personality that gave others the chills. Her smile had his insides churn but his feelings toward her were still of a friend's. He smiled back at her, showing off a small curl on his lips. The tone of her voice changed the mood of the atmosphere and it was a bit flirtatious. He was almost sure about it and his decision was to play with her game. He gave her a coy smirk and did not even take any time to think of his response. "Anything you want. Tell me your conditions." The conditions however, were something that needed to be nothing bad. Nothing seriously embarrassing and something that he could tolerate. He silently hoped that Ashe was mature enough to think of things that were good to do and nothing unpleasant.

Kiefer felt that his attention was bringing itself somewhere else. And yes it was, and it was already on Ashe the moment she smirked at him playfully. He smirked back but kept his cool once she returned to her chair. Such a distraction she was, but he tried not to give in for her blazing eyes and sharp features. She was flirting and he could tell that by her actions. But some flirting actions from other girls were discreet and they went unnoticed by Kiefer. A feminine laugh washed over them which was replaced by a bright smile from the young lady across Kiefer. 'Guys I've met wouldn't actually ask about the weather... you know.' Those words were difficult for Kiefer to comprehend and he wondered if that was a good or bad thing. "I see. Most of the girls I've met usually... answered my question." He looked at her bright smile, and a small curve soon toyed with his lips. It was subtle, but the look in his eyes was probably noticeable. Faces of different girls flashed through his mind, and without any doubt, Kiefer barely knew their name anymore. Most of them were cute enough but not as elegant as his present companion - which by the way, he was lucky to have.

The typical Ashe would probably be bored out of her mind and leave the boy alone, she'll wander through the corridors hoping to find someone to pick on. Instead here she is using her precious time on Kiefer Harris, there was something about the boy that made Ashe very confuse. By nature she isn't a flirt, she may be mischievous but never a flirt. Still she couldn't drag her body away from the boy, must be her hormones kicking in. Being fifteen had it's perks and on the other hand, there were things that made her act like a child and Ashe hated it. Even with her thought raging in, the fifth year stayed with Kiefer knowing it was useless to debate with herself. She bit her lower lip, wondering how will things go on for the next hour or so. The part-veela smile grew wider, hearing his reply made her think of a condition. She didn't expect his reply, since only a few boys would agree with her conditions. "I don't have anything in mind now. It would be best if you decide?" spoken like a true flirt, yet she isn't flirting or is she? Ashe didn't know what was she doing at all, though she's sure that helping Kiefer would be nice if there was something for her in return.

For a fifteen year old, Ashe wasn't that small anymore. She had the height of a typical teenager, though she knew that boys were still taller than her. Of all the boys Ashe met, Kiefer caught her attention. Maybe because he stepped up his game back in the cafe, rather than just staring at her. Other boys their age would do that, plus the drooling of course. Is it because some Durmstrang boys were too busy flexing their muscles in front of her? And this would make bored, there was still no reason. If ever she did like Kiefer then it would be hard for her to admit, especially to herself. "Well, I'm not like those girls." her British accent kicking in. It is true though, she wasn't like the other girl who desired attention, affection. Ashe didn't asked any of her beauty, it was a gift and she's fortunate to be part-veela as well. Her looks made other people vulnerable in front of her, in which she likes the most. It was easy to destroy the people around her, girl and boys. On the other hand her brother used it for girl, to hook up with them and to date some of them. Ashe used her race differently, knowing it could surpass the others. Drifting away from her thoughts, the blonde looked at Kiefer once more, returning to reality. She took a strand of her hair that was bothering her face, and slowly twirled it then flicking it over her shoulders.

<COLOR color="#000"> The decision was obviously Kiefer's call, and he was eager to set out his plans for whatever thing he could do just to pay the lady for her miraculous decision to help him sort things out. There were a million possibilities, but nothing seemed appealing to the wizard as much. There were a lot that sounded dumb, and his brain was not really working as excellently as it would have done without Ashe sitting in front of him, looking entirely pretty. He felt a bit nervous in front of Ashe, which was rare for the teenage boy. Ladies were very much alike but the witch in front of him spoke with excellent body language, which made his nerves shake violently in him. He shifted his position on his seat, and entwined his fingers on his lap slowly and thought of what thing he could pay her with. A few unexpected suggestions came to mind, and it made him feel like some perverted person who wanted to take advantage. Shrugging after a good time of almost ten seconds of silence, he uttered, "I honestly don't know what you want... So, maybe a treat? Or would you like a friendly date?" He sounded corny. Too corny in fact and he knew it with a pang in his chest. He swallowed his own cowardly (or to him, he thought it was) thoughts about what Ashe's decision would be. Being someone who was not gifted with excellent brains was a pain in the a**, especially when dating was included in that thinking.

From all the things that he expected, this encounter was out of the blue. His thoughts were repetitive about the blonde, and all of them were positive in way that if he would talk them out, it would either flatter or amuse her. He thought that her personality was different and cold towards other people and if he were some young student, he was positive that she would treat him like something that was not worth her time. Despite that, it wanted him to know more about her in only a matter of minutes or if lucky, hours. Kiefer wanted to stay under her company radar, even if he was not a match for her intelligence. "Yes, I can see that." He answered in a monotonous tone, his silver eyes filling up itself with a tiny amount of humor. He felt the continuous bugging sensation in the back of his mind, and felt that his urge to ignore it was beginning to fade. Kiefer tapped his quill on the parchment ahead of him and looked up to meet Ashe's eyes. They dazzled, but he ignored the fire in the pit of his stomach. "So, who are the famous muggle celebrities you know?" Kiefer asked, and turned his silver eyes to the nearby book that contained nonsense to him. The pictures were immobilized which were strange, but he knew that it was a part of muggle technology.

There was something about Kiefer that made Ashe want him, maybe because he seems clueless of what person is she like. Most of the student here in Durmstrang would be either mesmerized by her or disgusted by here. Girls knew that she's brutal and a total b!tch, one some lower year would see hear, they'd be on their feet running. On the other hand boys here age are drooling in front of the part-veela, since there aren't' much part-veelas in the school. Some would never know and some where no where to be found. Though she had heard that Hogwarts New Zealand are infested with part-veelas, just the thought of it makes her stomach sick. She hated the school and mostly everything, thank Merlin her parents permitted her to leave. It wasn't their choice though, they were forced to permit her since she left the said school. There was nothing to worry, since she never intended to make a friend. Also with the help of his brother legacy, it was easy to fit in with the crowd. Ashe knew she still needs to make a name for her own, and come put of the shadows of her brother Enzo. It would take time but from the looks of it, just a year will do. The blondes appearance and race made her stand-out and with her good marks, everything seems to be going well as planned. She might lack friends like before but Ashe knew that she'll gain later on, perhaps in her career. Meet death eaters and do crimes and stuff, she wasn't particularly sure if that how it is. But for the meantime, the girl knew her future will be brighter than anyone else.

Ashe's blue eyes met with Kiefer;s silver eyes, it was an unusual eye color to have. And it wasn't her first time seeing one, she had a cousin who has the same eye color as well. For a moment she stared at them, trying to read his mind, his eyes. She knew he was nervous, that he too is distracted. A coy smile painted the fifth years face, she knew what she wanted and she'll get it whatever it takes. "I don't do treats, and friends don't date." Ashe answered implying for more. She knew Kiefer sees her as a friend but Ashe don't, it's hard to be her friend and at the same time it would take a lot of time to be her friend. Getting a strand of her blonde hair once more, she twirled it with her hand and kept her eyes glued on the boy. It wasn't easy talking to a boy for her, not in a awkward way. If she likes the boy, she'll talk to him if not then better leave school premises. At his and her age, she knew that there might be some thoughts swirling inside the boy. Hormones raging in and unknown of it's cause, well partly. Ashe slowly reached for a book, ignoring his words, agreeing that she isn't typical. "Well, there's always George Clooney, Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt and ...." she said, almost stating all the actors and actress in Hollywood. Ashe have no idea if they're still alive, since she never liked the muggle television. Books and Magazine were always seen with her, if ever she does watch tv, it would always be educational and sci-fi things. Besides, it's often for her to go see movies, since her parents were the ones who would go to the old cinema back in London to see a movie.

<COLOR color="#000"> Hell, that hurt. Kiefer mentally recoiled when Ashe declined his request for a date. He did not intend to ask her on a real date, since his lack of experience made him feel uncomfortable. Sure, his unexpected meetings with girls were sort of different than dates, since they did not need to plan it over and over. A date however with Ashe Cavell seemed exciting. It was exciting yet, the idea intimidated Kiefer. What if he just acted like a fool in front of the blonde? Questions swirled in his mind, and all he could do was to simply think of something more interesting. Ashe was difficult to please, and Kiefer was only getting the first taste of it. He knew the name "Cavell" before and unfortunately so, he heard about the whispers about the girl. Regardless of Ashe's reputation, her face had pure beauty painted on it. "Don't they? Just think of it as a simple meeting together as... Friends." Kiefer wanted to insist that they talk to one another once again outside the grounds of Durmstrang. Times were interesting when Ashe came in to talk to Kiefer, and even in the library she managed to lift the atmosphere's lazy mood. He was interested to be a friend of hers, and he emotionally gathered every drop of courage he had in him. Ashe was giving him a challenge and he actually liked that. For a boy who hated schoolwork challenges, it surprised him to see that he was up for the said quagmire.

The teenager expressed confusion subtly when the names of famous muggle celebrities were said. He took his quill and rubbed the feathery tip on the right side of his head. With a sigh, he looked at Ashe with a small frown about the people mentioned. He had no idea who those muggles were except for their names. They sounded familiar but it still irked Kiefer that he needed to do an essay for some person who he wasn't even familiar with. "And? Merlin, there should be someone easy to write about." George Clooney and Angelina Jolie were known to him, and Brad Pitt was a different name to his ears. Though he heard that he had a relationship with one of the actresses in the place named Hollywood. Wherever that was, Kiefer wasn't at all curious about it. The big names in the business were usually located there, and Kiefer tried to even look for books about the place. Later on did he realize that there was no importance about researching about it. "Do you know anyone who is fairly good in sports too? It'd be better to write about someone who shares something in common with me." Quidditch would be Kiefer's second life, aside from socializing most of the time. It was just a shame that muggles had no idea about Quidditch. Their sports were exciting to watch, but nothing could beat Quidditch with the intensity that the players always have whenever a game would be ongoing.

Most of the days, what Ashe wants Ashe gets it. The other days remained forgotten as always, she never looked back and if she did, it would so often. She wasn't sure if Kiefer actually likes her, no one did. Maybe because she haven't insulted him yet or tried to shoo him away, he seems to be different. He didn't know the real her, how she was too brutal for someone. Ashe liked the idea of being a mystery to him, there was a lot time to think of what to do to the boy. As she got a strand of her hair, entwined through her finger as she played for while. Still her thoughts lingering inside of her, the things how a teenager brain works these days. She looked at him, directly to his eyes. Tilting her head a bit, a slight smirk surrounding her lips. "Mmm, then I don't do friends." a tone she uses when she's seducing someone. Usually this happens when she needs something form a guy who sees her as only a beauty. Will he take that challenge? Maybe not. Her breathing somehow changed, a bit slow yet subtle. The blonde knew she could just leave and turn her back but look at her talking to Kiefer, making him time to talk to her and help him. There's a lot of celebrities to name, and she decided to name the most popular ones.

Ashe moved her head and watched Kiefer write down the names, "I'm guessing you don't know them?" she said bluntly this time. She knew this was coming, before it would irk her a lot but for some reason she decided to stay calm and face this. A bit of a sigh in the end, she got herself into this and she'll be the one to end it. The fifth year leaned a little more, almost close to Kiefer. There was no one around them, so nobody could look at her bare legs folded for a while. From her position she could almost smell Kiefer, only a few inches more and they could touch without noticing it. Upon hearing his question, Ashe wanted to frown, she didn't knew any actors who knew sports. Sure she loved all kind of sports but the two mixed was a different thing for her. There was no reason to lie to him, "I only know their works, movies and stuff." Ashe answered trying to hide her annoyance. This was getting boring that she'd expected to be, a little fun wouldn't hurt. She looked at him, eye to eye, probably making him melt or something. His scent was unknown to him, a mix of sweat of course. Maybe if he'd ask her Quidditch, she can answer him.
