Another book done.
Casper closed The Dark Forces and placed it on top of the fourth book he had read today. He sighed, closing his eyes for a moment as he took off his glasses. "Why. am. I. studying again?" he asked himself, finally opening his dark brown eyes.
His hair looked unruly today. Not just his hair, but even his clothes were in disarray. He hasn't slept for two days because he needed to finish these five books for his written report in Defense Against the Dark Arts, so today, he looked haggard. Compared to his original look, that is. He has eyebags and his shirt wasn't properly buttoned. And yet, looking at him now, people would still consider him an attractive sight.
"Oh! Right. My report." Casper murmured, nodding his head for a moment but deliberately shaking it after a few seconds. He sighed again. He was tired of this lifestyle. He only started studying so that he could have an excuse not to see his father. Casper hated his father. Or his father's ideals, at the least. He started reading books so that he can tell Hayley "I'm studying." when she calls him to attend family meetings and such. The usual pureblood stuff.
But lately, Casper thought over the facts once again. Yes, he is definitely pureblood. Not even his blabbering can ignore that fact. Yes, Hayley is older than him for a few minutes or so, but he was the first and only boy sibling to the Hubertas. Yes, it's his responsibility to take over the family. And yes, he can't afford to ruin the family name just because people are calling him a blood traitor.
"I'm not a blood traitor!" he hissed as the thought came to him. Casper stood up and started to fix his things. "I'll show you what I can do." You'll never see a pureblood who's going to be as good as me.
