Rose was in a cheerful mood today. She was glad to be back at school, surrounded by other kids her age and back with her friends. In truth, she had missed the school a lot during the break. This morning, she decided to show her happy feeling in her breakfast, and made a happy face of syrup on top of her pancake. Rose grinned at it, admiring it for a moment before she would start to eat it.

Andi was in her usual state of frustration when she arrived to the Gryffindor table for breakfast, and would have picked up some food just to throw it on the ground and let some anger out, if she hadn't noticed Rose was sitting next to her. Seeing that the prefect was making a happy face with syrup on her pancakes was sweet, and enough to convince Andi to stay calm, at least long enough that she couldn't get in trouble for doing something stupid. "That's cute." She commented, before adding a few pancakes to her own plate.

Rose was just about to cut into her pancake when she heard a voice comment on hers. She looked up to see Andi, a girl she knew quite well but hadn't talked to in a while. She hadn't noticed she was sitting next to her. "Thanks Andi! How is your morning so far?"

Andi shrugged animatedly in response to Rose's question, unsure of how else to react other than going into a rant about all that was bothering her. She had a feeling this would ruin the bright morning Rose seemed to be having. So instead of giving a verbal response she let her shrug speak for itself and quickly she returned the question to Rose, wanting to keep the subject of conversation away from her and on the prefect. "Is your morning good, then?" Andi asked, reaching for a few strawberries and placing them next to the pancakes on her plate.

Rose noticed Andi's shrug and frowned slightly. She quickly realized the blond was avoiding her question, and pondered that for a moment. "It is, but if yours isn't you can still tell me." She said as she took a bite of pancake "What else are friends for?"
