Nox usually avoided the Halloween feast on account of it falling on his birthday, and it wasn’t how he wanted to spend it. But with Tori now at another school for a few more months and Lumos nailed on to be attending the feast with Jonah, now the two of them were dating. Nox had gone pretty bold, or so he felt like, with his costume, considering he didn’t even have a date to show off to and was hoping on some Muggle-borns to get the reference. He made his way into the great hall, admired the decorations and some of the other costumes on display before grabbing a drink and settling in for the evening.

It had taken Prim a bit of time to decide what she was going to dress up as because she didn’t really get Halloween from a dressing up standpoint. As someone who was raised in the magical world, they didn’t really celebrate it, like this and she was born in the New Zealand magical world, which she felt like maybe made it worse. Granted she’d never spent much time in the muggle world anywhere, so maybe she was wrong about all of that. She noticed Nox as she headed in, and curious about his all black outfit, she headed over, wondering just what it was supposed to represent. She squinted at the black around his eyes and frowned at him slightly. “Uh… what…?” She gestured vaguely to her own Victorian garb hoping he’ll get the vague question. "Also happy birthday."​

Nox saw the confused look on Prim's face as she approached him and figured she didn't understand his costume. It wasn't a surprise, he figured Batman didn't have much cut through in the magical world, which was a travesty. "What? I'm Batman," He laughed as he put his hands on his hips. He knew it meant nothing to her but he had to put on the show anyway. "He's a muggle superhero," He looked at her costume, she seemed to be wearing victorian garb but he wasn't sure if she was dressed as anyone specific. "I like your costume, it looks good on you,"

Prim blinked at Nox as he told her he was a muggle Superhero. She wasn’t sure that was going to help because she wasn’t sure she knew what a superhero was. She knew the two words seperately of course, with hero meaning someone who did great deeds and super as, well, more, but she didn’t really get the significance of the two words together. “Oh, well what does Batman do that makes him so super?” She smiled when he told her he liked her costume and she looked down at it to smooth it out a little just in case it was slightly wrinkled. “Thank you, I wasn’t really sure what to dress as this year and this felt the most simplistic thing to try, I don’t have a great expanse of things to use so…” but she appreciated that he’d appreciated it.​

Nox wasn’t sure his knowledge of Batman was strong enough to answer that question, but then Prim didn’t know anything about him, so he could say anything, and his fellow Hufflepuff would probably accept it as true, even if he wasn’t fully accurate. “Superheroes usually have superpowers that they use to save the day, but Batman doesn’t have powers; he’s more of a detective who dresses up as a bat and fights crime at night,” It didn’t sound nearly as cool when he put it like that, but he wasn’t sure how else to describe Batman. “Well, it works, I like it,”
