With celebrations scattered throughout the year, there never seemed to be a month without at least one thing happening in it. Some celebrations were a lot smaller than others, and some were the biggest things people had to prepare for. Elijah Tine at 14 still hadn't picked his favourite holiday. He thought they all held an importance to him. However, the one he enjoyed the most more often than not was Halloween. It wasn't because he could go as whatever he pleased, but, because he was able to be someone else for the day. He could wear a mask and pretend for a night to be as confident as the head boy. It was a night were all else could and was forgotten, for a night the hufflepuff did not need to be shy hufflepuff with a huge obsession for music. This halloween, Elijah had spent a long time preparing. He'd pushed all his homework to one side and had spent the day preparing. Getting his clothes perfect, his hair perfect and playing his guitar as he went along. Naturally, Elijah had decided to go as someone out of the box. Something that would never really be expected, and that needed explantion. He wasn't there to win anything, the fourth year went to the Halloween Feast, to stuff his face with candy and have a bit of fun. Elijah was type to have fun rather than compete. It was what made him classically Hufflepuff. He had no plans to go with anyone, but he still put in the effort and liked to marvel at the work others had put into costumes. Elijah was finished getting ready, just as the Halloween Feast was due to start. He was glancing at himself in the mirror. He had to admit, he thought he looked pretty good. For this Halloween, Elijah had decided to go as The last known survivor of a Zombie Apocalypse. He was smiling to himself, as he patted his hair sprayed, and now rock solid hair. He made sure, that the fake mud and blood looked there best and that his clothes were crumbled and dirty. He took his oldest trainers and put them on, glad that they were not only incredibly dirty but looked like he'd dragged his feet upon the floor as he walked. Elijah nodded at himself and then decided he was ready to go to the Great Hall.

In a sense, the hufflepuff went for the slightly crazier and weird costumes, because then he would be sure, no one else would be the same as him. No one else, in the whole of the school he was positive would go to the halloween feast dressed as the Last Known Survivor of a Zombie Apocalypse. No one else would put that much thought into what they would be. There would be the usual costumes, devils, vampires, cheerleaders. But no one would be like him. He was incredibly unique in what he did. Elijah made his way hurriedly to the hall. Elijah was pretty excited for the night. Halloween was always a great way to meet other people who maybe he would never talk to without this much work put into his outfit. Elijah smiled to himself as he stepped into the Great Hall. As per usual, it was amazingly put together. There was so much of interest to see. So much to snack of. Elijah made his way over to the table and picked up a lollipop. He stuck it in his mouth and let his eyes wander around the many different people. His soft green eyes were alit with joy as he tried to guess all the different costumes of the people around him. Elijah Tine was close to claiming that Halloween was in fact his favourite day of the year.

It seemed like only yesterday when the Halloween feast had come around last year and everyone had been all dressed up then as well. There seemed to be so many fun and exciting holidays all in such a short time frame from one another, it made the semesters fun and enjoyable. Even Logan was away from his dorm and left the study books in his draws next to his bed. All things considered today was going to be a good day for him and with the added bonus of all the food would make it an amazing day for him. He wondered if Georgiana would be in the hall sat with her friends or her family. Logan no longer had any family who were students that he could sit with. The only family he had in the school was his defence against the dark arts professor, Riley and he would be at the professors table so he couldn't exactly talk much to him. He didn't know what to do, he was not exactly the most popular boy in school and did not have a huge list of friends who he could sit and talk to on this joyous occasion. he sighed as he walked down the stairs in his costume. He was dressed up as a muggle mechanic. He had decided to come as both something to do with a lesson and something different. He was considering coming as a ghost, because that was an easy costume just put a long sheet over you and cut some hole in it so he could breathe. But he didn't want to spoil the fun and he had come in something, well properish anyway.

As he got to the great hall the smell of the food made his stomach rumble in protest to him not eating anything since yesterday. Now that all the food was right there in front of him he was starting to feel the pain of not eating in a while. He walked in to the grand room and looked around. Everyone seemed to be caught up in conversations and happy in everyone else's company. He didn't want to intrude or anything and tried to look for someone he knew who was not talking to a whole group of people. As his eyes scanned the near by table he noticed a boy who was in his year and some of his classes. He didn't actually know his name but he kind of knew him. He rubbed his arm awkwardly as he walked over, it was better than sitting on his own being lonely. Besides he could even make a new friend with in his year to talk to in a lesson. Right now he only had Jeremy and he had gotten moody as of recently. As he neared to the boy he cleared his throat. "Mind if I sit you?" He asked uncertain of what to say. He didn't know if he should have asked or just sat down. He thought it was a bit more polite to ask him if he could join him rather than just sit down, he could have been expecting someone. Logan sorted out his helmet as hit was slipping down, he should have gotten a smaller size but all the muggle things confused him. He could take it off later when he sat down somewhere, he had never planned on wearing it for the entire time of the feast

With all the candy in the world, Elijah was in a good place just sitting by himself. Long gone were the days when Elijah had actually disliked being alone. He'd actually grown quite used to constant solitude and just being him and his guitar. It was in a sense his perfect way of being. He knew that having friends were great, but to him it was not as important as it was to others. He didn't feel the need to be constantly surrounded by a group of people. Sure it would be nice to have people to listen to him play, but he didn't really need it. His music was his alone. Not really anyone elses. He couldn't ever say that it would be perfect, there were days when the Hufflepuff would give any thing for a little company. However on such days, he always managed to find some place to go to speak to someone. There was never a shortage of people to talk to at hogwarts. His eyes glanced over and noticed the ravenclaw boy who was in a number of his classes. It was odd for him to actually see him out of classes, considering that Elijah was sure they shared many a class. He was however considering actually speaking to him, but Elijah thought it might be a bit weird. He seemed like the type to have friends, and last he checked the guy had a girlfriend. Surely days like this were shared with someone like that. Elijah hadn't seen his girlfriend since he'd returned. He had left with little warning so, he wasn't sure if she was even still at the school, or if they were still going out. He wasn't too upset about it. He hadn't really seen her in a couple of years. So, they could hardly say they were still together or that the relationship they'd had was incredibly strong and meaningful. It had just been a girl and a boy both very young, both liking the other, and not sure how to act upon it. Elijah was fine with that being the situation. He just wanted to see her, they had been pretty close friends, and they had played music a lot together which had always been fun for Elijah. She had been like his closest and most of the time only friend. Now, he didn't even know where she was. If she was at school, she'd pretty much hidden herself away. Elijah shook his head and looked up when someone cleared their throat. The Ravenclaw boy, who was dressed as something, was now stood in front of him. He was somewhat glad the boy hadn't come as a Zombie, because in the nature of Elijah's costume he would've run away.

"No, go ahead." Elijah said, thinking that the boy must have figured that he had someone joining him. "you know, considering we practically have every class together, I still don't know your name. To me, you are Ravenclaw boy. I'm Elijah. Yes, my name sounds archaic. I didn't pick it." Elijah laughed slightly. "But, yeah, I'm Elijah, or Eli. It's great to finally meet you outside of a classroom." Elijah was trying to figure out what the boy had come as. Elijah wasn't great with guessing. He tried and tried, but generally his mind just could never come up with anything. It was something that did almost annoy Elijah. He smiled at the Ravenclaw, "I have to ask, how do you always manage to be on time for lessons? Like, you're always there. I have difficulties in the morning. What's your technique?" Elijah knew it was a pretty stupid question, but anything to break the ice.

OOCOut of Character:
sorry in advance for bad spelling, my key board is playing up

As the fellow fourth year boy turned to look at him as he answered his question Logan smiled and wondered what he was dressed as. He seemed to be dressed like any other boy to him but he was pretty sure that it stood for something more than was meeting his own eye. He found it rather odd that they had been in lessons together for four years now and he still did not know his name or anything about him. Then again he never took much notice of such things when he was in lessons, he was always reoccupied with what he as doing or what the professor was talking about. He was happy to hear that he could sit down in the sat in front of him without the disdain of his neighbouring student. He didn't know why but he always hated it when he knew that someone was thinking ad of him for something, he seemed to have a slight need to please everyone but he knew it was never possible to please everyone so he had narrowed it don to please the people he cared most about seeing as it was their opinions which mattered to him most.

Sitting down Logan took his helmet off, it as making his head really warm and sweaty and not to mention it was heavy and his shoulders were starting to sting from the extra weight they were holding up. He would have thought that being a beater in the Quidditch team would toughen him up a bi but he was still as much as a wimp now as he was in his first year, just smarter. He knew how to talk his way out of a situation he didn't want to be on. When the boy began to seat again Logan turned his head to face him whilst at the same time placing his helmet under the table out of the way. "Oh yeah I noticed that. Its strange don't you think how much you can be around someone and yet know nothing about that said person. Your the same with me but Hufflepuff boy instead of Ravenclaw boy." He said with a slight laugh as he took a few gummy sweets before continuing. "Elijah is a cool name. Any way I would be the last person to poke fun at a persons name. Mines a little unusual to. Its Logan. I don't have many god nick names so your welcome to make one if you want." He said popping a sweet in his mouth. His moth water instantly and his stomach gave another rumble in anticipation for the food which was in front of him. He pursed his lips in thought as Eli asked him how he got to class so early all the time. "Well I'm just a natural early riser. And not to mention I share my room with some first years who wake me up all the time. Your usually early, strait after me." He said thoughtfully. He had not known his earliness had been noticed by anyone. He did't mind much, he didn't think that the boy sounded too bothered by it, which was good. He wondered if his boy was Hufflepuff then if he was anything like Mark because he was a ex Hufflepuff or was that a little shallow minded of him. "So what's your favourite lesson?" He asked curiously, he wondered if they both had the same favourite subject.

For a 14 year old, there were a lot of things happening to him. Discounting his family and all that, that brought Elijah had much more on his plate. Obviously he had to take everything into consideration when he did anything. But now he had to think about actually passing classes, what to do with his life and then the smaller things like how many more Halloweens could he attend before he got to old for it all. Being the optimist, Elijah wanted to say that no matter what his age, he'd still make an attempt at dressing up for hallow, but he couldn't deny the fact that he knew things could change, and that these things would throw him off and make him think twice about where he thought he was heading. Elijah had thought he'd never find his real family and he'd just always been a lone wolf. But no, he had family and they actually liked him, loved him. It was because of them that he was at hogwarts, unlike his sister who was at Beauxbatons. A sister, now that was the weirdst thing for Elijah. For such a long time, he'd been alone, and now he had a sister. And an annoying one at that. A previously Slytherin girl. He smiled at the ravenclaw as he sat down beside him. "Well, I've been in and out of school, so it would be hard to know me." Elijah shrugged slightly, before bitting into a bit of candy. He wasn't really closed off, he was pretty honest. If a question was asked, he would most likely answer it, without too much hesitation. He didn't think that his private life was that private. Plus if he was open about it, if someone told everyone, he would be a little annoyed but not that much. Eli smiled as the boy spoke again, introducing himself as Logan. Which he didn't think was odd. It wasn't normal, but it wasn't unheard of. The problem Elijah had with his name, was that it was really old and while still fairly popular he had to say it wasn't a name that came easily to all accents. He thought it sounded best pronouced by someone from England. "Logan's not that unusual. How many other Elijah's do you know? Well, to be honest, you are the first Logan I've met, but I've also never met another Elijah and it's meant to be a popular name."

A small nod of the head and Elijah was listening intently to what Logan was saying. Naturally an early riser. God, how Eli wished he had that gift. It was one that just did not seem to come to him. He woke up late, and was awful in the morning. He was quite the traditional teen in that sense. "I might be straight after you, but that's me just up. Like, I'll have woken up about 10 minutes before the time I get to class. It's terrible." Elijah gave a small laugh. "Erm, Defense against the dark arts. You? Also, what do you think of Divination?" Elijah wanted to know if the boy liked it or not, before he ranted about how much he hated it. Elijah was glad to finally have a proper conversation with the Ravenclaw boy.

There was an obvious feel of excitement and happiness in the air. Everyone was enjoying the feast and everyone else's costumes. Some of them looked amazing and had obviously took a lot of time. As Logan was not a major fan of such event he had not spent loads of time preparing for the night, he just want to be a part of it all and fit in a little better for a night. There was nothing wrong with that now was there, he was just doing what most teenagers did in school at some point. As the sound off the boys voice registered with him once more Logan turned his attention back to him and listened. He was intrigued by him saying he had been in and out of school a few times, was that because he had gotten in to trouble a lot. He didn't think so this boy didn't seem like the trouble maker, he was after all a Hufflepuff too. "Oh right, is that because of school or something personal that I don't need to know about?" He asked curiously trying not to over step any lines which were between the pair seeing as they had really just met each other. He had never been good at socialising with people so boundaries were something he did not quite grasp at times and was often breaking them but he knew what was personal was personal and respected that. he was becoming better, slowly but surely. Again the boy began to speak and again Logan listened to what it was which he was telling him about names. He smiled slightly and shrugged his shoulders. "Well I don't know that many people so me saying I don't know another person with your name wouldn't mean much besides it may not be a popular name where you live but that's not to say it isn't popular in another country like India or where ever." He said trying to put a more positive spin on the boy's view. "Also i personally prefer stranger and uncommon names, it gives you more character I mean how many Daniels are there. Having a common name is just common and dull." He said said popping a sweet in to his mouth and chewing it, to give his mouth something to do whilst he was not talking.

Pouring himself a glass of pumpkin juice and taking a sip Logan enjoyed the taste before placing glass back on to the table and turned his head back toward Elijah as he spoke to him again. "I'l suggest waking up twenty minutes earlier in that case. An alarm always helps." He said in a slight playful tone so it didn't seem like he was being rude in anyway or smug which a Slytherin had called him not long ago because he had been studying and mentioned his grades in slight. He had never been smug about his grades, in'fact he had never been smug about anything, he just was not that sort of boy. "Yeah I like defence against the dark arts, but my all time favourite is Transfiguration. I don't know why exactly but its always the lesson I look forward to the most and it the lesson I do best in. If I was going to be a professor I would want to teach that lesson." He said happily. Although his cousin taught DADA it didn't make it Logan's favourite lesson. of course he looked forward to it and such but that was mainly because of Riley, if he didn't teach that lesson Logan would not enjoy it quite as much so the liking he had for that lesson was not all the lesson so Logan was discounting it. "Divination is okay I guess, I like how you can see in to your own future but its not my favourite lesson I think its a little in conclusive and made up really but that could just be me, I prefer hard core evidence, a lesson where its subject has been proven and tested many times and is easy to use and predict. Divination is guess work and mood i think." He said pursing his lips as he spoke. He did like Divination and found it interesting but he liked lessons such as Potions or Herbology where they had been proven to work and actually can mean something and make something useful.
