for this dance than he'd been at the Yule Ball, Desislav wandered back to the table where he and Kayleigh had planted themselves after a long while of dancing and talking. He had a plate of cookies in his hand and two cups, juggling all of it precariously. One wrong move, a bump into anyone, and they'd have soggy cookies and he'd have one unhappy girlfriend. Neither of those would do, so Desislav was being extra careful as he walked, happy when he finally made it back to her. "Now that was magic" he said as he settled everything down without dropping any of the juice.

Kayleigh was exhausted after dancing her heart out, and gladly accepted Desi's offer to get juice and cookies. The blonde caught her breath at the table they had claimed, watching and giggling at all the other students dancing. Her attention was brought back to her boyfriend as he set down the juice and a plate of cookies and Kayleigh laughed at Desi's comment. "You're a true wizard Mr. Zhefarovich." She picked up a cookie and went to take a bite, before remembering who she was dating. "Have you done anything to these?" Kayleigh asked suspiciously, holding the cookie away from her mouth.

Desislav laughed out loud as he pulled his chair closer to Kayleigh before he settled into it. Their knees were touching as he shook his head. "I would never" he said, not even doing a good job at pretending to be shocked because he knew he absolutely would do something like that. He grabbed a cookie and bit into it just to show her it was safe. Tucking a piece of hair behind her ear, Desislav muttered under his breath, "It's the juice you should be worried about" though it too was safe.

Kayleigh smirked at Desi's reply. "We both know that's the biggest lie." She laughed, taking a small bite of the cookie after he did, relieved that nothing did happen. Kayleigh smiled as Des tucked her hair behind her ear, looking into his eyes, expecting him to something romantic. She had to laugh at his next comment, putting the cookie down, placing a hand on his knee. "See, this is why I love you." Kayleigh smiled.

Desi simply finished his cookie, returning the smirk she'd given him as he remained in place. If he sat back, she wouldn't hear anything he said and besides he could smell her perfume from this position, and she smelled quite good. He was still busy chewing when her next words came, and they were so unexpected that Desislav began to choke as the cookie went down the wrong way. He coughed and sat back, coughing some more. His face was red, both because he was blushing massively and choking. The teen reached for his drink, tears in his eyes from his coughing which was thankfully now subsiding. Desislav went to speak but it sent him coughing again, so he held a finger up as he tried to catch his breath.

It took a moment for Kayleigh to realize what was happening, and why it was happening. She hadn't even realized what she had said until he reacted so strongly. Kayleigh felt her cheeks redden, and she wasn't entirely sure what to do. She went to lean forward to help, maybe a pat on the back, but he held a finger up for her to wait so she sat back in her seat, watching him with a concerned look on her face. Had she said the wrong thing? Was it too soon - did he not feel the same?

Desislav saw the look on Kayleigh's face which was why he was trying to rush to talk, but it took him another few moments. When he did, it was with an extra rasp to his already deep voice. "You just made a huge mistake, Kayleigh. Probably the biggest one of your life" he said, a heavy sigh and a shake of his head. "I hope you like that pain" he chuckled, referencing her flower note from earlier, " because now you're never getting rid of me." A small smirk played on his face as Desi finished his drink. Putting his glass down so he could lean forward and grab her face with his hands, the seventh year was tempted to squeeze Kayleigh's cheeks to add some levity to the moment, his own nerves getting the best of him. "I...I love you too, Kay" he said, his expression going as serious as he could manage. He'd never said those words aloud to anyone who wasn't family, but it felt incredibly right even though his heart was practically pounding from his chest and he was sure his hands were sweating on her cheeks.

Kayleigh sat, wondering what was going through Desislav's head as he continued to clear his throat, before finally, what felt like a life time later, he spoke. At first his words confused her, but a smile quickly took place of her confusion when he told her that she was never getting rid of him. When Kayleigh first met the Zhefarovich family, she never, ever would have thought that she would end up with Des. But she was glad she had. Kayleigh watched Des as he moved forwards, grabbing her cheeks. Everything else was silent, there was no one else in the room. It was just her, and Desislav as he told her he loved her too. Breathing a sigh of relief, Kayleigh grinned. "Thank Merlin." She muttered before moving forward, her lips crashing onto Desi's.

All of the noise going on around them was background noise as he concentrated on Kayleigh. His dad had asked him over the summer if he loved Kayleigh, and he’d shrugged without giving a full reply, but even then he thought that he had. Saying the words aloud made his emotions feel more real, more raw. As they kissed, Desislav softly stroked her cheeks with his thumbs. After several long moments, Desislav pulled back enough to separate their faces though they were still close enough to talk and be heard. “How long do you think we can keep this up before a professor breaks us up?” he said, giving her a mischievous look that said he was willing to keep things up until they find out. He gave her another kiss, pulling her chair closer to his with his feet. “My money is on Ol’ Styx or Cliffeton breaking up this fun” he continued, giving a glance to the side to see if anyone was on their way to break things up.
